Arbiter Jastalyn Dragorth has faithfully served Elanthia for many years and in many capacities. Read on as this sweet bardess and social butterfly takes the time to share dear memories, deep motivations, and much more in a revealing interview!

Introductions
[Twilight Hall, Auditorium]
Twin twilight blue carpets cascade down the aisles among the tri-sectioned rows of cushioned, mahogany benches. Suspended above, a glass ceiling reflects and refracts the sunlight, sending it scattering to every corner of the room. At one end of the auditorium lies a crescent-shaped dais of silver-veined alabaster flanked by three large marble columns, each housing brilliant scarlet owl sconces. The banners of Twilight and the CHE hang in tandem from the translucent ceiling. You also see a circular ebonwood cart with some stuff on it, a painted owl carved podium, a massive steel portcullis and a shiny brass placard.
Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Chamorr says, "We get to ask tough questions, right."
Speaking mischievously to Chamorr, Leafiara says, "The toughest."
Jastalyn softly asks, "What tough questions?"
Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.
Leafiara cackles!
Jastalyn shakes her head.
Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Khylynnia exclaims, "Make em REALLY tough!"
Jastalyn shakes her head, clucking her tongue.
Speaking quietly to Chamorr, Khylynnia exclaims, "You know, like what's her favorite outfit!"
Speaking heartily to Khylynnia, Chamorr says, "The toughest."
Khylynnia giggles.
Jastalyn chuckles.
Jastalyn just nudged Khylynnia.
Leafiara says, "We'll explain in just a few moments when we get started--but, in short, Khy and I have a few questions each prepared in advance, and then afterward we'll open the floor to all."
Leafiara hoots.
Speaking curiously to Khylynnia, Leafiara asks, "Speaking of which... are we ready?"
Leafiara tilts her head toward Khylynnia, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.
Jastalyn grins.
Jastalyn walks over to the bench and settles down.
Jastalyn smiles.
Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Khylynnia exclaims, "I am!"
Leafiara gives Jastalyn a strong, encouraging smile.
Leafiara nods eagerly at Khylynnia.
Leafiara hoots.
Chamorr pours himself a stein of golden Twilight ale.
Leafiara exclaims, "Then let's get started!"
Leafiara nods at Khylynnia.
Leafiara clears her throat.
Chamorr takes a drink from his golden Twilight ale.
Chamorr's eyes glaze over slightly and his face pales.
Chamorr is stunned!
Jastalyn softly says, "The ale is a bit strong."
Jastalyn grins at Chamorr.
Master Altheren just came through a massive steel portcullis.
Chamorr heartily says, "Wow. dinna spect a kick."
Jastalyn waves to Altheren.
Altheren smiles.
Leafiara cheerfully greets, "Good afternoon and welcome! On behalf of both Twilight Hall and the TownCrier, I'm one of your hosts today, Leafi--"
Jastalyn stands up.
Khylynnia quietly interrupts, "--and I'm Khy! It is a pleasure to be here with you today as we--"
Leafiara eagerly concludes, "--bring you our first monthly Center Stage interview!"
Chamorr applauds Leafiara.
Leafiara hoots.
Leafiara leans softly against Khylynnia.
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Jastalyn grins at Khylynnia.
Khylynnia reverently wishes, "I know that my companion here would agree with me when I say that we hope you enjoy the interview, and we encourage your participation after we are finished!"
Leafiara earnestly agrees, "Absolutely! Although we're hosts, your questions might be even more important than ours."
Leafiara pleasantly continues, "After all, the TownCrier's goal is keeping the community informed -and- engaged with topics--or in this case people-- of interest! And that means finding out about the things -you- want to hear."
Khylynnia fervently adds, "Twilight Hall is proud to co-host these interviews, as we are highly interested in cataloging the residents of our wonderful realm! Our goal is to chronicle these individuals to have record for future generations."
Leafiara interjects, "Oh, I should mention... Luxie intended to be here, but had a very unfortunate circumstance come up."
Chamorr heartily says, "Awww."
Jastalyn adopts an agreeable expression.
Speaking amicably to Khylynnia, Leafiara exclaims, "Anyway... please go on!"
Leafiara nods enthusiastically!
Khylynnia grins at Leafiara.
Jastalyn clears her throat.
Jastalyn smiles.
Khylynnia earnestly continues, "We at Twilight Hall hold to the belief that magical research, and history should be available to everyone to study, and what better way that to start with getting to know the people."
Leafiara nods approvingly at Khylynnia.
Leafiara interestedly wonders, "So, who -is- our first interviewee?"
Leafiara theatrically inquires, "Who, today, will be taking Center Stage?"v
Leafiara flashes a wide grin.
Leafiara continues, "She's the officer of two fine organizations! She's a familiar face in the Landing and Icemule alike! She cobbles, she paints, she smooches, and she's beloved by countless adoring fans! That's right... today we're -very- happy to chat with..."
Jastalyn chuckles.
Khylynnia proudly reveals, "Jastalyn Dragorth! Arbiter of Twilight Hall, Chairman of Fenog s Regulars and current member of the Icemule Trace Town Council!"
Leafiara applauds Jastalyn.
Jastalyn smiles.
Leafiara lets out a cheer!
Jastalyn curtsies gracefully.
Jastalyn grins.
Jastalyn softly says, "Thank you."
Chamorr applauds Jastalyn.
Leafiara happily adds, "And Frost Queen!"
Leafiara's face breaks into a cheeky grin.

Khylynnia nods eagerly at Leafiara.
Leafiara amicably explains, "Khy and I have a dozen questions for Jast, then afterward we'll open the floor for as many of -your- questions as we can get to in the time we have today..."
Leafiara excitedly says, "So, without further ado..."
Leafiara flashes a quick grin at Khylynnia.
Leafiara enthuses, "Let s get started!"
Jastalyn smiles.
Leafiara tilts her head toward Khylynnia, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.
Khylynnia turns to face Jastalyn.
Question 1: Bardess Jastalyn
Speaking curiously to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "I am pretty sure that everyone already knows that you are a bard, but why did you choose it as your profession?"
Jastalyn smiles at Khylynnia.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "Because I love music and magic, and I thought it a good combination. I love to write, and aren't bards naturally flirty? I thought it a good fit."
Leafiara laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
Khylynnia begins chortling at Jastalyn.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia inquires, "And, as a followup, how long have you been pursuing life as an adventurer?"
Jastalyn ponders.
Khylynnia removes a twilight grey leather volume from in her black leather purse.
Leafiara bemusedly says, "Naturally flirty. I love it."
Khylynnia carefully opens her grey leather volume.
Khylynnia removes a scarlet owl quill with a silver nib from in her grey leather volume.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "Twenty-three years, which means I was extremely young when I started."
Jastalyn smiles at Khylynnia.
Leafiara beams happily at Jastalyn!
Jastalyn grins.
Khylynnia raises an eyebrow in Leafiara's direction.
Leafiara nods in agreement.
Leafiara turns to face Jastalyn.
Jastalyn smiles at Leafiara.
Question 2: Enjoyable Time
Speaking inquisitively to Jastalyn, Leafiara asks, "And looking back at that twenty-three year journey... what's been the most enjoyable period of your adventuring?"
Leafiara adds, "Foes you found especially exciting, friends you shared great company with--that sort of thing."
Leafiara gives Jastalyn a strong, encouraging smile.
Jastalyn softly says, "The most enjoyable time I'd have to say was in the beginning. I met so many nice people so quickly, and back then everyone was helpful, kind and sharing. I was immediately outfitted and any question I had about being new to the realms was answered earnestly. I miss those times."
Leafiara grins.
Jastalyn smiles at Leafiara.
Leafiara nods understandingly.
Leafiara agreeably exclaims, "Definitely exciting times, just getting started!"
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Khylynnia agrees with Leafiara.
Leafiara turns to face Khylynnia.
Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Khylynnia says, "Yes, definitely."
Leafiara nods firmly.
Question 3: Inspiration
Khylynnia rubs her chin thoughtfully.
Leafiara leans forward.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia queries, "Thinking back on your life as an adventurer, who would you say has had the most impact, and why are they an inspiration to you?"
Jastalyn smiles at Khylynnia.
Leafiara gazes with interest at Jastalyn.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "There have been a few, but one particularly comes to mind. His name was Akivas, and he was not only my closest friend at the time but he also became a treasured mentor."
Leafiara nods.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "When I built the lodge in Icemule, I made a memorial for him near the fishing pond."
Leafiara nods understandingly.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "We would spend many hours fishing and talking about life, and those are times that stay with me always."
Khylynnia grins at Jastalyn.
Jastalyn smiles at Khylynnia.
Leafiara says, "Oh... I'm sorry to hear he's gone, but those are wonderful memories."
Leafiara smiles at Jastalyn.
Jastalyn nods.
Question 4: Prized Possession
Speaking to Jastalyn, Leafiara inquires, "We'll segue then... speaking of memories, what would you say is your most prized possession?"
Leafiara interestedly clarifies, "Not necessarily what would fetch the most on the open market, but an item valuable or personal to you!"
Leafiara tilts her head toward Jastalyn, examining her intently as the tip of one ear twitches briefly.
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Leafiara grins impishly at Jastalyn.
Jastalyn softly says, "Khylynnia mentioned that I should bring along my most prized possession. Leafiara beams happily at Jastalyn!
Jastalyn flushes slightly, some color reaching her cheeks.
Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Khylynnia says, "That was a darned good answer."
Leafiara coyly asks, "That... is way too sweet an answer. What's the real one?"
Leafiara appears to be struggling to keep a straight face.
Leafiara adds, "Kidding."
Leafiara snickers.
Jastalyn grins.
Question 5: Twilight Hall
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "I already know the answer to this, but which one of the Cooperative Houses of Elanthia do you belong to, and what is your role in that organization?"
Jastalyn grins.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "I have only been a member of one House in Elanthia, anf of course it's Twilight Hall."
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "I started my officer life as Envoy, but I have also served as Ambassador, Event Planner, and now Arbiter."
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "And it has been one of my main motivations in all I do, no matter what city I'm in at the time."
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "You mentioned that you are the Arbiter of Twilight Hall, what duties do you perform as Arbiter?"
Leafiara nods understandingly.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "I oversee members and the Ambassador. I assist with training and meetings. I am in place to help if the Chairman, for some reason, cannot complete her duties."
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "Who would you say was the most instrumental in your choice to join Twilight Hall, and why?"
Leafiara folds her hands.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "When I joined Twilight Hall many years ago it was because a very close friend of mine, named Alinel, came to me raving about this great House and the people in it. I owe her a big thank you, but sadly she isn't in the realms anymore."
Leafiara grins.
Jastalyn smiles.
Leafiara hopefully says, "Most people come back sooner or later."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Midgar nods while tilting his black felt fedora forward and giving a quick, teeth-flashing grin.
Jastalyn softly says, "We never truly leave."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Leafiara nods in agreement.
Question 6: Upcoming Plans
Speaking thoughtfully to Jastalyn, Leafiara asks, "On a related note... Are you working on any projects or events with any organization you're a part of--Twilight Hall, Fenog's Regulars, or the Icemule Town Council--that you'd like to share with us today?"
Rendena softly says, "Nah."
Speaking mischievously to Jastalyn, Leafiara prompts, "Even a light teaser?"
Leafiara grins impishly.
Rendena softly says, "We never do."
Jastalyn grins.
Khylynnia grins at Rendena.
Leafiara nods eagerly at Rendena.
Leafiara adds, "And it's okay if all the projects are top secret and you can't share."
Leafiara grins impishly.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "Currently I am on a planning committee to help host the first Guardians of the West Gala that will include several other halls in the Landing and Icemule Trace. It will take place at the end of this month."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Leafiara beams happily at Jastalyn!
Midgar grins at Jastalyn.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "I always, always have something in the works or plans that are getting worked on."
Speaking approvingly to Jastalyn, Leafiara says, "You're a unifier! Very nice."
Midgar takes a drink from his Turamzzyrian champagne.

Khylynnia begins chuckling at Jastalyn!
Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Khylynnia exclaims, "She likes to keep busy!"
Leafiara pleasedly says, "I'll look forward to that gala."
Leafiara nods in agreement at Khylynnia.
Khylynnia turns to face Jastalyn.
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Jastalyn softly says, "I do keep busy."
Question 7: Significant Moment
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "Since we are looking back at your journey thus far, does any pivotal moment stick out? Maybe a point when your focus or path shifted significantly?"
Chamorr raises his hand.
Leafiara nods approvingly at Chamorr.
Leafiara says, "Bear will be first up when Khy and I are done."
Leafiara hoots.
Khylynnia nods approvingly at Chamorr.
Chamorr nods.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "I have never been an avid hunter. I suppose I'm more of a social animal. When I met my husband, Dyllin, that all changed and we began hunting together. I had to research how to be better hunting in the wilds and my path did shift quite a bit."
Leafiara nods understandingly.
Jastalyn chuckles.
Jastalyn softly says, "Though I am still quite social."
Jastalyn winks.
Question 8: Cobbling
Leafiara says, "In that case, let's move on to an entirely different type of learning..."
Speaking interestedly to Jastalyn, Leafiara exclaims, "Next I'd like to discuss a topic near and dear to both our hearts: cobbling!"
Jastalyn grins from ear to ear.
Leafiara expectantly inquires, "How and why did you get into the art of making shoes, and what are one or two of your favorite pairs or clients so far?"
Leafiara adds, "And I'll look forward to whatever you have for your own gala."
Jastalyn rubs her hands over her high-heeled shoes, tidying their appearance.
Leafiara extends her leg and slowly rotating her ankle, models a pair of pristine white silk sandals laced with leaf-patterned silk ribbon.
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Leafiara nods knowingly at Jastalyn.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "I have to admit, learning to cobble was the bane of my existence for probably three years. I wanted to learn to make shoes because I love shoes and I love coordinating my ensemble."
Jastalyn softly asks, "My favorites?"
Leafiara grins at Jastalyn.
Jastalyn softly says, "That's a tough one."
Speaking knowingly to Jastalyn, Leafiara says, "It's a long process."
Leafiara starts chortling.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "Though recently I have made some very nice shoes and boots with those great heels sold at this past Duskruin, and those would probably be my favorites."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia says, "I'm still an amateur at cobbling myself."
Jastalyn grins at Khylynnia.

Question 9: Painting
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "What made you decide to get into painting? And speaking of, do you have a favorite painting? If so, which one is it?"
Jastalyn grins at Khylynnia.
Midgar takes a drink from his Turamzzyrian champagne.
Midgar looks rather relaxed.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia says, "I know which one of your paintings is MY favorite."
Khylynnia glances at Leafiara.
Leafiara pushes on Khylynnia without much success.
Khylynnia giggles.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "Painting is another artistic expression, much like cobbling, where I can bring my imagination to life. I know which one you like best, and to be honest I think you've been the only one to ever commission a painting from me."
Jastalyn grins at Khylynnia.
Leafiara surprisedly asks, "Wait, really?"
Leafiara gawks at Jastalyn.
Speaking to Jastalyn, Leafiara marvels, "But your paintings are so amazing..."
Leafiara ponders.
Khylynnia closes her eyes and turns an ear towards Jastalyn, listening to her with a curious expression.
Speaking softly to Khylynnia, Jastalyn says, "I thoroughly enjoyed that painting and continue to do so, especially with all the publicity it gets."
Jastalyn grins.
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Khylynnia grins slowly.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "Thank you."
Leafiara announces, "You heard it here first! She's open for commissions and nobody takes her up on it, so get in line!"
Leafiara grins from ear to ear.
Jastalyn grins.
Khylynnia agrees with Leafiara.
Leafiara adds, "And ask her to see her amazing portfolio."
Leafiara nods encouragingly.
Jastalyn softly says, "And I would gladly show off my painting wall in my office after the interview."

Jastalyn giggles at Leafiara.
Leafiara gazes in wonder at her surroundings.
Leafiara hurriedly says, "Moving on..."
Leafiara glances upward and whistles quietly, an innocent look on her face.
Question 10: Aspirations
Speaking philosophically to Jastalyn, Leafiara begins, "I've always thought that even though we live -in- the present, we live -for- the future..."
Speaking wonderingly to Jastalyn, Leafiara inquires, "What are some of your personal and professional aspirations? Dreams to chase, goals to pursue?"
Jastalyn ponders.
Leafiara grins.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "Future goals might be to see a growth in membership and activity in Fenog's and to help foster the growth and activity here in Twilight Hall."
Leafiara nods approvingly at Jastalyn.
Speaking softly to Leafiara, Jastalyn says, "Of course, personally, I would like to train much more than my current schedule."
Leafiara nods understandingly at Jastalyn.
Leafiara musingly says, "Never enough time."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Jastalyn softly says, "It's a balance that's not easy to keep."
Leafiara nods understandingly.
Leafiara turns to face Khylynnia.
Question 11: Close Friends
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia says, "My last question to you has to do with friendships."
Jastalyn smiles at Khylynnia.
Leafiara nods at Jastalyn.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia asks, "Would you mind naming some of the people that are your closest friends and confidants?"
Jastalyn softly says, "Naming."
Jastalyn softly says, "Ok."
Jastalyn grins.
Jastalyn softly says, "Three of them are in this room right now."
Logeerkamer steeples her fingers in her lap, quietly observing her surroundings.
Jastalyn grins at Logeerkamer.
Jastalyn softly says, "Honestly, I work very closely with my closest friends and confidants and I consider myself a very lucky woman to have the opportunity to do so."
Leafiara smiles at Jastalyn.
Jastalyn softly says, "I do have to say."
Jastalyn softly says, "There is one that rises above the others, no hard feelings or offense of course."
Jastalyn softly says, "But she was with me from my beginning here as an officer and has stood by my side through many hard times."
Jastalyn softly says, "And continues to do so."
Jastalyn smiles at Logeerkamer.
Jastalyn gives Logeerkamer a lingering kiss on the cheek.
Leafiara grins at Logeerkamer.
Logeerkamer blushes a florid shade of crimson.
Leafiara applauds Logeerkamer.
Jastalyn softly says, "Without her, I'm not sure where I'd be right now and I am forever grateful."
Jastalyn smiles.
Khylynnia nods understandingly at Jastalyn.
Khylynnia turns to face Leafiara.
Jastalyn softly asks, "Should I point out the other two?"
Jastalyn grins at Khylynnia.

Leafiara amicably exclaims, "It's all up to you. Your interview!"
Leafiara flashes a quick grin at Jastalyn.
Speaking quietly to Jastalyn, Khylynnia says, "That is entirely up to you."
Leafiara nods at Khylynnia.
Khylynnia giggles at Leafiara.
Jastalyn softly says, "There are others of course, but the three of you are most prevalent in my life."
Jastalyn softly says, "And my dearest most recently adopted daughter, Abies."

Question 12: Memorable Moment
Speaking amicably to Jastalyn, Leafiara begins, "And my own last question... after this we'll take a brief one minute intermission and then open the floor to our audience..."
Speaking simply to Jastalyn, Leafiara asks, "What's been the most memorable moment in your life?"
Jastalyn grins.
Jastalyn softly asks, "Goodness, I have to pick one?"
Leafiara casually says, "Or, you know, at least -one- of them if figuring out the top one is too tough."

Jastalyn softly says, "The birth of my twins in Stone Manor. It was an amazing day and I got two lovely children from it."

Jastalyn softly says, "I know you don't see them around much. They're off doing their own thing these days."

Leafiara teasingly asks, "They grow up so quickly?"
Leafiara grins.

Leafiara amicably says, "Very well! That concludes the questions from Khy and me..."
Jastalyn grins at Leafiara.
Chamorr applauds Jastalyn.
Khylynnia suddenly pauses, a look of consternation crossing her features as she listens intently.

Midgar looks rather relaxed.
Leafiara musingly says, "While we wait, I suppose I might as well explain the rules... simply RAISE your HAND and I'll add you to the queue, then later call on you when it's your turn."
Leafiara reminds, "Good time for refreshments too!"

Speaking softly to Rendena, Jastalyn says, "Part of the reason was that at the time, Icemule didn't have many halls invested in the area. They still really don't. The town is small and the citizens are tightly knit. It was difficult to get a foot in, but I feel it was the right decision. Besides, every great lodge needs mountains of snow around it."

How long have you played Gemstone? Have you taken any breaks or played straight through?
I first found Gemstone in 1996. I was a stay-at-home mom with one in school and a toddler at home. I have taken several breaks throughout the years, but do we ever really leave?
How did you find out about the game?
I found it by accident when it was still on AOL. I don't remember if I learned about it in a chat room or found it searching for a similar type of game to play.
What do you think is the best thing about Gemstone?
The best thing about Gemstone, and what keeps me coming back, is the ability to create whatever your imagination can come up with in actions and song. I tried some graphic-based games but they couldn’t hold my interest with the restrictions.
Imagine you're Wyrom for a day and can 'do' one thing. What are you changing/removing/adding/replacing and why?
Honestly, I would like to be able to learn how to make clothes as we are able to make shoes. I know it was a thought at one time but was never finished. I enjoy coordinating outfits for different occasions. It may seem shallow to some, but I see it as an expression of individuality.
Do you have multiple accounts that you play at the same time?
Yes, several.
Do you have a Premium subscription?
I do, just one.
How many different 'main' characters have you had over the years?
I would say three. The first was shortly after I started playing Gemstone, and after trying different classes I found I really enjoyed playing a rogue. Rogues are naturally flirty, which was fitting, but I felt they were helpful in general because back then we didn't have an NPC locksmith. The next one was my warrior. She was awesome. Sometimes you just want to smash things. And lastly, my bard. I love music and learning new things. Becoming a bard and learning all the nuances that are involved with that class has been challenging. I’m still learning!
Who are/were your most notable characters?
Jastalyn is my most notable character by far. I'd have to say, that's probably the only one.
Did you draw inspiration from any other fiction, or even fact, when envisioning Jastalyn?
The book, Rhapsody: Symphony of Ages by Elizabeth Haydon. It's a good read, or at least it was at the time, and it inspired me to create Jastalyn.

Would you like to name one or two things about Jastalyn that you think most people would be surprised to find out? These can be as minor or as major as you want.
Her ears are ticklish, um she had twins; a son and a daughter, with Dyllin before he left on his hiatus. I miss roleplaying the kids and family.
Have you ever roleplayed a character who's very different from your own personality? And why or why not?
It's difficult but I think Jast is unlike me in several ways. She gets involved in a lot of groups and I'm mostly a homebody. She's also gotten slightly involved in politics and I hate politics. She also wears way better clothes!
What are some of your favorite events? These can be run by GMs or players.
Ebon Gate has always been my favorite time of year. I love to see what the GMs have cooked up for us to do and games to play. I'm slightly addicted to those games that cost silvers and sometimes, ok all the time, I spend way too much for what I come out with. But, I enjoy it nonetheless.
Do you as a player have a different most memorable Gemstone moment than Jastalyn does as a character?
Yes, I would have to say in my early weeks of first finding Gemstone. I was a noob in Wehnimer’s Landing and I met so many nice people that just started outfitting me with gear and spells, and helping me learn to hunt. I miss those times. I miss the intense roleplay that doesn't seem to be prevalent in today's Gemstone.
What do you feel is the biggest mistake that most GS players make? Why?
I would have to say the biggest mistake is when players don't separate their in game experiences from real life. I have made many friends in Gemstone, even a few more than friends, but for the most part people have to remember it’s just a game. Don't take it too seriously, or yourself for that matter. At the end of the day when you turn off the computer (well most of us) you're still you, in your place, in your time, and that's what's important.
What advice would you offer to a new player?
Be patient. Learning to play this game is hard enough with all the mechanics available and the roleplay aspect. It's difficult when you're young in trainings, but that's true across the board. Yes, it gets frustrating, but it does get easier and so much better as you grow. Make some hunting friends, but also have fun! There's so many things to do in Elanthia!
What are a few things you'd like to do or experience in GS that you haven't yet?
This is the toughest question so far. I've been all over the lands and done so many things from fishing in a boat in Illistim to chasing down Grishom Stone to his manor in Mist Harbor. I think something I'd like to learn is game coding. I would like to be a Mentor and see if I enjoy it, and if so, go from there. I have so much respect for all of the GMs and how hard they work to make our game experience rich and fulfilling. I'm not sure if I would enjoy it, but I'd like to get a first-hand look.
