A lichbane talisman can be made by clerics skilled in the Trinkets subskill of Alchemy. When worn and rubbed, the talismans provide a TD boost to fear-based spells as well as provide phantom levels to help avoid the effects of sheer fear for about ten minutes. Each talisman has eight charges.

Small enruned bones can be purchased from any Cleric Guild alchemy shop.

Loresong
This is a small item, under a pound. In your best estimation, it's worth about 6000 silvers.

You sense that it offers protection against debilitating fear attacks when it is rubbed.

You receive a sudden vision of an elderly cloaked halfling treading through scenes of chaotic imagery: dark misty landscapes, grim visages of death and decay, rivers of clumping blood. Through it all, the halfling is stone-faced and determined. Soon, he is met by a very tall and powerful lich, from whom an aura of evil fairly emanates. A fierce magical battle ensues between the two, and instead of being overcome, the halfling dispatches the lich with authority. He pulls out a journal and makes some notes while the lich's corpse lies mangled on the ground. From your vantage you can see in the journal an illustration of a talisman, similar to the one in your hand.

You see the elderly halfling again, this time with the torn pages of his journal scattered about him. He is seated with a stupefied look on his face in an area that at first you sense is blisteringly hot, then all at once turns stingingly cold. His hair is matted and his clothes are wrinkled. Something in the distance alerts his attention, and he clutches his talisman in one hand as he wipes off a trace of drool with the other. Instead of a creature, however, you see the silhouette of several adventurers approaching. The halfling's look of consternation slowly breaks into a bit of a smile. The vision then fades.
