a jet-banded amber sunstone
| Description: Unlike its purer and more valuable relatives, the sunstone is a wan shade of yellow. A band of jet bisects the jewel, black and impenetrable as a stormy night.

a red sunstone
| Description: A chunk of cold fire, a red sunstone appears to be a roughly globular piece of red-hot rock, its exterior cooled in spots to deeper shades of crimson and black. The color is misleading, though, as the brilliant red portions are as cold as the darker portions. The gem sparkles in the light, casting fiery reflections in all directions.

an uncut sunstone
| Description: Pale red-orange in hue, the sunstone is filled with sparks of more intense red color. They resemble tongues of flame licking up from a raging inferno.
