Trance StateThe trance state is activated by WHISPER DISK START and ended by WHISPER DISK STOP. While under the effects of a trance, you can not cast or attack or eat or a number of other minor things. FeaturesWhen activated so that the wearer has fallen into a trance, their LOOK description adds a unique feature line that appears directly below eyes, hair, wings, etc.: Her features appear slack, her eyes covered in a milky white film as she stares transfixed at something in the distance. This feature line remains in effect so long as the wearer is in an activated trance state. Minor VisionsMinor visions are available with both Tier 1 and Tier 2 Eyes of the Arkati. There are ten sets of minor visions that have over 900 possible combinations. The minor visions utilize the TATTOO table to build the combinations. If NOT in a trance, this is what you may see: >gaze my disk Focusing upon Zelia, you gaze through the disks in your eyes, and the image of <something> appears before you. If IN a trance, this is what you may see: You gaze about without any true recognition of where you are as the heavy malaise of your trance causes your features to remain slack and your limbs to feel heavy. After a time, your vision changes... Music fills the air, the sound of a party drifting to you as you gaze out upon the balcony onto a sprawling city that is in the throes of a celebration. Just as you turn to head inside, the sound of fireworks explodes behind you, and you glance up to see <item> burst across the sky in a colorful pageantry of light. Some visions have more than one random component. You may trigger a minor trance anytime that you desire. Major VisionsMajor visions come in sets of 15 and are much larger visions. They provide a location and can have as many as 7 random components. They are limited to one per hour. The major vision themes are: Beach, Bog, Cave, Clouds, Deert, Forest, Garden, Library, Mountain, Ocean, Snow, Tropical, Workshop. An example of what you might see is: Concentrating on your connection to Zelia, you stare through the flimsy violet disks that cover your eyes, causing a vision to blossom to life before you... As your vision clears, you find yourself on your hands and knees, crawling through the hot desert. Parched and exhausted, you contemplate giving up, your swollen tongue filled with sand and the taste of blood from your cracked lips. Each movement causes your sunburned muscles to scream in protest as you continue to crawl through the sand. Time has no meaning, the endless hours stretching before you as heat causes the air around you to waver. You find yourself staring at something green beneath your fingers and glance up numbly to see you've stumbled upon an oasis. Hope fills your body with adrenaline, and you surge to the edge of a pool, nearly choking as you suck water into your body. Sated, you roll to your back to find <random animal> beside you and stumble back, accidentally putting your hand through an old skull where <random creature> has made its home. In the below example, phrases in parentheses show the part of the vision that is randomized: Blinding white light lances across your vision, and you feel the familiar effects of a trance come over you. Your limbs grow heavy, your body stills, and the world around you swims with rapidly swirling lights. As your vision clears, you find yourself surrounded by large clusters of (pink fuchsia) on all sides. Your feet dangle over a ledge, your eyes upon the majestic waterfall off to your right, the turquoise waters falling into a moonlit pool hundreds of feet below. Despite the serenity and beauty of your location, you find yourself filled with a deep sadness that causes your throat to constrict and your eyes to sting. A movement at your side startles you from your melancholy brooding, and you find several woodland creatures watching you from the sheltering leaves. Among them are tiny pixies with (peridot grasshopper wings streaked with jade), who all look at you with concern. Slowly, they start to flutter their wings and sing a single name. (Sunnydust). Bathed in moonlight, a regal pixie queen flutters down to the ground at your side. Her skin is pearlescent with dewdrops, her hair woven into an intricate braid of (seaglass aqua) tresses, and her body adorned with a ribbon-tied dress of (cream-colored lily petals). She pats your hand and smiles up at you. "Remember," she says. "(The melody of your laughter is the sweetest song in the forest.)" And then, she hands you a (miniature ivy tendril). Slowly, you feel yourself returning to your body, and you feel a prickling of pins and needles upon your limp limbs. You blink several times and feel as if you are struggling through thick layers of cobwebs before your vision finally returns to normal. Snow-topped pine trees encircle a small frozen pond where dozens of halfling children are trying their hand at ice skating. Laughter fills the air as they slip and slide across the glassy surface. Glancing down, you note that you are wearing a pair of (stormy charcoal grey) (chevron-patterned vaslavilen) mittens and holding a steaming cup of (hibiscus tea). You sense motion to the side of you and see a chubby snowman sitting on the bench beside you. He has dark coal eyes and a bright orange carrot for a nose. Noticing your glance, he grins at you and leans over to say, ("My dream vacation? Somewhere tropical I'm curious about melting culture!")
