Faendryl Empire

The Faendryl Empire historically refers to the original empire built by Korthyr Faendryl, which with the founding of the House system, turned into the Elven Empire of the Second Age. House Faendryl was chiefly responsible for the Empire. In the Exile of House Faendryl to Rhoska-Tor, the other Houses ceased to recognize it, and the provinces of the Elven Empire fell into the Age of Chaos. House Faendryl in the Modern Era does not recognize the sovereignty of governments in the West. Nor does it recognize the other Houses as having independent authority to make decisions regarding the old provinces.

In the aftermath of their Exile the Faendryl made some expansion of territorial holdings in the southern subcontinent of Elanith. This included conflicts with regional powers such as the dominion of Evashir. Following the Undead War, but especially after the Sea Elf War, House Faendryl began expanding holdings and claims over other valences. House Faendryl considers the former provinces of the Elven Empire, especially the original empire of Korthyr, as belonging to itself and that the old empire rightfully reverts to the "Faendryl Empire" in the absence of House Faendryl leading a united Elven Empire.
