Kindarel is the proprietor of Priestly Purchases and is originally from Mestanir. He left it and the Church of Koar when Baron Hochstib invaded and usurped Mestanir. A priest of Koar, he is also Solhaven's town cleric and can resurrect dead adventurers brought before him. To ask him for a resurrection while dead, ASK KINDAREL ABOUT RAISE for help.
Description
Kindarel is a bit thin for a human, but appears quite healthy and handsome overall. A pure white robe with cuffs of gold is draped over his frame, and his flame-red hair is cut quite short and is neatly parted in the middle. His dark brown eyes hold a hint of somberness, and his hands are constantly moving in an almost habitual manner toward the golden prayerbeads strung around his neck.
Ambients
Kindarel says, "Welcome to my shop, I have many things of interest to those with a clerical bent. Especially those of Lord Koar." He gives a proud nod and goes back to his business. Kindarel looks up at the stained glass window that provides the ample lighting in the room and sighs quietly as he runs his fingers across the golden prayerbeads strung around his neck. Kindarel retrieves a small pouch from his robes and opens it, revealing a generous amount of golden lotus incense within. Briskly, he walks south toward the brazier and refills it before returning. Kindarel quietly arranges things and makes sure everything is neat and tidy within the room. Kindarel says, "One of the Tehir that come by here taught me how to craft those." He points at the yierka-spur displayed in the counter, "They've got their own way about them, but their weaponry is sure effective."
Questions
- War
Kindarel says in a somewhat dejected tone, "It wasn't really a war, but to anyone in the middle of it, it was. My brother..." He glances up at the tattered robes for a second, then continues, "He fought there, and he was truly a skilled man in the arcane. Things went very well until the Empress allowed Hochstib use of that crystal..." He sighs and shakes his head in disgust, then goes back to tending his shop.
- Jantalar
Kindarel says "Jantalar? Surely you must know them. They were a plague upon the land under the rule of Lerep Hochstib. But, no more as he was proclaimed dead by the Emperor's Inquisitors. I hear his sister, Delphinuria Hochstib, now rules as Baroness over Jantalar. They say that she is a more kind ruler than her brother." He glances off to the side and says, "We'll see, as only Lord Koar knows."
- Hochstib
Kindarel glances at you with a dark look in his eyes, "Lerep Hochstib was not fit to lick the slime off a maggot, let alone rule a people." He sighs for a moment and fiddles with his prayerbeads, "But now that he was proclaimed dead by the Emperor, his sister Delphinuria Hochstib is Baroness of Jantalar. I pray to Lord Koar that she does not become what her brother was.
- Chydenar
Kindarel glances at you with a faint smile, "After Baroness Hochstib signed the Writ of Relinquishment of 5107, freeing the Barony of Mestanir from Jantalar's iron fist, Emperor Aurmont Anodheles appointed Seurdyn Chydenar as Mestanir's new baron. I hear that His Excellency Chydenar is a fine, just man. He will lead the Mestanir people to a new era of prosperity and freedom." He glances up at the tattered robe on the wall and sighs wistfully, "It truly makes me consider returning."
- Brother
Kindarel glances at you and says, "It's not a good idea to pry. I've got some things to tend to in my shop, excuse me." He walks past you briskly and goes about tending things.
- Mestanir
Kindarel turns toward you and says, "You wish to know of Mestanir?" He smiles wistfully, as if in remembrance of some long-lost comrade, "The best memories of it was before that power-hungry Lerep Hochstib came marching in with the the support of the..." His features crease into a frown, and he appears to be shaking a bit, "Empress. Some of the finest mages learned their craft there, and the most important sights a young devotee of Koar might wish to gaze upon are there--The Crown and The Fist. Beautiful, they are, I can still see them." He sighs as he turns his eyes toward the floor for a moment, then says, "So much destruction has happened to that barony and so many people have been displaced. Now that Mestanir is once again free from Jantalar, and under the guidance of Baron Chydenar, much work is left to be done. Perhaps one of these days I'll return to the Church... perhaps, indeed." He looks up with a faint smile, and goes about his business.
- Crown
Kindarel says, "The Crown? It is a beautiful sight, the mighty stones sitting atop the northern hill...sometimes, when the sun was overhead, it ensconced them in a most beautiful glow. It was truly something breathtaking to see, even when you lived there most of your life. So beautiful that it inspires many to journey to Mestanir, but now...I do not know. Surely the Jantalarians did nothing to tarnish its beauty...but they have done so much to that barony before they released their iron grip." He shakes his head and sighs before saying, "I hope Baron Chydenar has the strength to mend and cleanse the taint left behind by the Jantalarian army." He sighs and looks up towards the tattered robe upon the wall and then goes back to his business.
- Fist
Kindarel says, "The Fist? Blessed were we to have two such wonderful sites for religious activity in Mestanir. I heard tales about how it was unearthed, and how the clergy celebrated. Beautiful it is, so massive it might block out the sky, made of solid granite and a white to rival the purest of ivory. Thankfully it is no longer in the hands of murderous cretins." He instinctively raises a hand to toy with his golden prayerbeads, "I had faith that Lord Koar would set things just and true."
- Church
Kindarel says, "The Church was a source of infinite wisdom as I grew up and ascended through the ranks. They had a wonderful temple in Mestanir, built below The Crown so that we might gaze upon its splendor as we went about our rituals and our lives. I was one of the youngest to attain priesthood." He nods proudly, but a hint of sadness is visible in his eyes, "But that's in the past now. I could not in good conscience stay with the Church, knowing that they would not stop the Empress, the Empress who gave those murderous Jantalarians that crystal..." He shakes his head, and then gazes up at the wall before saying, "But now that Mestanir is free, perhaps one day I'll return." He goes back to his business.
- Raise
Kindarel says, "I'm afraid being dead is a bit of a prerequisite for me to resurrect you.
