Summary

• Magister Cordarius comes to the Raging Thrak Inn trophy room to thank everyone for their assistance in freeing him. As for Grand Magister Octaven, thankfully Magister [[::Raelee_Svala|Raelee]] has delayed her release from the coffin. He chalks that up as a discussion to happen soon, but we're keeping her sealed for a little longer--though we'll need to release her sooner than later, despite bad things she's done. Chandrellia asks when soon is, but he seemingly can't answer or we'd tip our hand too soon.

• He says Octaven's time is coming, he'll say that much, but he and Raelee agree that Octaven has information and answers--such as that only two people know where the Talon is. Justice for her won't accomplish everything without obtaining some of her knowledge, and we'll discuss ways to get the information.

• Mayor Leafiara says it's time to expedite an investigation into the Hall of Mages given how Vlashandra turned out, and Cordarius agrees. He says he hasn't seen Vlashandra since she threw him in a glass coffin, but at least it wasn't his worst date. Leafi doesn't want the details of the worst, though Gutstorm does--but unfortunately (?), Cordarius has no time for the long story and wishes everyone good night!

Balley softly asks, "You do not think Slim would join forces with Stone do you?"
Speaking to Balley, Dergoatean says, "I'm not sure Stone would tolerate the antics."

Awaiting Cordarius

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the fiery red Ycelacie disk, a sleek raven that is flying around, the Berost disk, the translucent Sulien disk, a white-bellied hawk, the Kerythen disk, the Semetra disk, the Tamlenn disk, some chocolate cream-spread cookies, a n'ayanad crystal, a large acorn, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, a speckled bull frog that is sitting, a mistwood serving cart with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and some stone benches with some stuff on it.

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

Chamorr heartily says, "Really."

Berost deeply asks, "Gatherin on tha mayor it seems yar?"

Leafiara exclaims, "Yep!"

Leafiara musingly says, "Since there's no Cryheart here."

Roelon deeply asks, "And nae Pukk to anounce?"

Gasparr announces, "Trap."

Cordarius: "It hasn't rained in days! Now it does? What luck!"

Leafiara: "Cordarius! I hope you're well and recovered."

Berost: "I hope he drank enough to be!"

Dwi: "My boots could use some dryin out."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Berost says, "I mean, he had to deal with tha bloodmage, I would drink away tha memory meself."

Roelon deeply says, "Rain and Snow. Why cannae it be coins and gems falling from the sky."

Cordarius: "I am well! I'll be along shortly. Trophy Room?"

Voltung quietly says, "I don't see any rain."

Leafiara: "Certainly!"

Speaking softly to Voltung, Razanetika says, "Shush."

Pukk asks, "Where is Shiny?"

Leafiara says, "No idea."

Leafiara says, "Cordarius, on the other hand, is heading to the trophy room."

Leafiara declares, "So we will too!"

[Raging Thrak, Trophy Room]

Tiny smudges of soot mar the fieldstones used to create the grand fireplace in this cozy room. A collection of plaques hangs above an immense grey marble mantel cluttered with trophy cups and bowls. Fashioned from a single stone slab, the hearth extends to an impressive black bear rug with its maw frozen in a silent roar. Several overstuffed wingback chairs, each covered in deep jewel-tone chintz, are scattered about the room. Against the back wall, a tall glass-front curio houses several ancient mementos and a thrak hide curtain hangs nearby. You also see a woven palm frond back-basket, a jewelled flat cap, some moth-eaten beige socks, a frosted orange cookie, an intricately woven straw wastebasket, a basket of sticks, a shifting twilight grey rift, a carved wooden sign and a droopy-eyed tan bloodhound.

Gutstorm drunkenly asks, "Why we in here?"

Leafiara musingly says, "Here he comes, then... wonder how this'll turn out."

Speaking to Gutstorm, Leafiara explains, "Cordarius is on his way."

Sulien deadpans, "Fresh and dripping..."

Cordarius says, "I am a survivor, if nothing else."

Leafiara nods approvingly at Cordarius.

Speaking to Cordarius, Zosopage says, "I saw you switch apples."

Speaking curiously to Cordarius, Leafiara asks, "In any case, what brings you here this eve?"

Cordarius peers quizzically at Ycelacie.

Speaking softly to Chamorr, Chandrellia says, "Or fourth if we have anything to say about it."

Cordarius begins to look around, eyes widening, mouth still sealed tight.

Ycelacie weakly says, "No... it is not."

Cordarius suddenly stumbles for no apparent reason.

Leafiara musingly says, "Welp."

Ycelacie works her hands and fingers through a practiced series of intricate gestures with a confident flourish, arcane phrases flowing freely off her tongue.

Balley softly says, "Interesting."

Chandrellia softly says, "Ok."

Cordarius slowly empties his lungs.

Zosopage says, "Just ask any question before he passes out."

Balley softly says, "I guess the cat got his tongue."

Speaking softly to a droopy-eyed tan bloodhound, Chandrellia says, "Hello pretty boy."

Chandrellia gently pets the bloodhound, his big eyes staring up at her as he excitedly wags his tail!

Speaking wryly to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "Well, we thought about not giving Octaven back, but..."

Cordarius says, "Thankfully Magister Raelee has been able to delay Octaven's release."

Leafiara surprisedly asks, "Oh?"

Speaking to Cordarius, Pukk asks, "Okay, but there is a real question we are wondering or at least the one on Balley's mind. Why was the scarab that the witch put in Balley different than everybody else?"

Cordarius says, "She's still on ice."

Chandrellia softly says, "Interesting."

Raelee nods slowly.

Cordarius says, "Which is, perhaps more of a conversation soon, but, we're keeping her as such."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Well that answers that question." [we had been wondering why she hadn't gone on a war path or something]

Speaking thoughtfully to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Huh, that's one of the best moves you've ever made."

Cordarius looks over at Soneiken and shakes his head.

Hapenlok says, "She can do less immediate damage that way."

Cordarius says, "Justice for Octaven doesn't accomplish everything without some of her knowledge obtained."

Berost deeply says, "If she gots info, mayhaps, get tha info, get her back inta the coffin, and then misplace it."

Chandrellia softly says, "If she is willing to give it."

Deep in the shadows, you think you see movement: something like a thousand snakes all swarming around each other. By the time you've focused to get a closer look, they are gone.
