Waiting in the Rain

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Mrack disk, the Mjolek disk, the Curlly disk, the black Grubzy disk, the icy blue Shuos disk, the Farhammer disk, an ancient cinereous vulture that is flying around, the Zaxabar disk, a circular ebonwood cart with some stuff on it, some ambrominas leaf, some acantha leaf, a slice of tangy rolton cheese, a large acorn, a rose-marrow potion, some aloeas stem, some acantha leaf, a fiendish panther, a large acorn, a tiny chilled dill pickle, some wolifrew lichen, some wolifrew lichen, a mistwood serving cart with some stuff on it, a sunset-hued leaf-shaped sign that reads, "Vote Leafiara, a Night and Day Difference!", some stone benches with some stuff on it and an herbal remedy donation bin.

Also here: Leafiara, Sir Cryheart, Mrack, Kylima, Thornepeous, Great Lord Mjolek, Shyrella who is kneeling, Curlly, Abijost, Grubzy, Cruxophyte, Shuos, Lord Farhammer, Trallihn, Arrasinn who is lying down, Lord Zaxabar, Umae, Keplet Obvious paths: northeast, east, southeast, southwest, west, northwest

The sky begins to fill with huge clouds, dark and grey on the bottom, pale and white atop, their puffy crowns ascending toward the heavens.

Zosopage says, "Here comes the rain do do do do."

Speaking to Cryheart, Leafiara reports, "Well, Pukk is traveing until the 12th, I believe."

Leafiara says, "So..."

Leafiara recites:

"Join Cryheart!"

Speaking deeply to Cryheart, Guarrin says, "Someone left some bandits on the road..."

Speaking hopefully to Guarrin, Leafiara asks, "Dead now?"

Tsarok quietly says, "I never know if I should be prepared for combat."

Speaking to Tsarok, Leafiara assures, "Around here, always."

Cryheart says, "Always prepped."

Tsarok raises his black ora heart skyward!

The runes on the black ora heart flare up and glow dark violet.

Tsarok appears filled with a confident and fearless composure.

A darkness forms around his black ora heart, and settles over him.

Tsarok quietly says, "Oh neat."

Tsarok suddenly flinches in pain!

... 1 point of damage!

Blow connects right below right eye!

He is stunned!

Tsarok quietly says, "Good heavens."

Speaking to Tsarok, Zosopage says, "If you are you will lose your spells for nothing if you aren't then you will die cause you have no spells."

Leafiara amusedly says, "You and that heart."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "Thanks... He's a goober." [thanks for uncursing]

Pietra says, "Where's Pukk? We need someone announcing things."

Speaking ruefully to Pietra, Leafiara says, "He's traveling until the 12th."

Shinann glances at Giogionni.

Speaking to Shinann, Giogionni asks, "What did I do this time?"

Speaking to Pietra, Zosopage says, "He fell into the pit of dispair."

Speaking to Giogionni, Shinann says, "Not enough days in the week to list them all."

Speaking deeply to Raelee, Guarrin asks, "You did what?"

Speaking to Guarrin, Raelee says, "I did not want the company, but I was not precisely left with a choice."

Speaking quietly to Zosopage, Tsarok exclaims, "Oh my gosh! I found something in Icemule for you!"

Tsarok comes out of hiding.

Tsarok tightens his grip on the pillow and attempts to smack Zosopage! He is ready for the attack and blocks it easily.

Tsarok sighs.

A bolt of lightning pierces the night.

Tsarok quietly says, "I am the worst pillow assassin ever."

Cryheart says, "Moving easterly."

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a bright painted campaign sign that reads, "Faerinn 5120: Painting a brighter tomorrow, together.", a shattered sign of bones fashioned into elegant calligraphy, "Civil Disobedience Is Still Disobedience: Obey Xorus.", a giant mound of snow, a polished bleakstone statue and a large purple wooden barrel.

Also here: Hleef, Wolfloner, Zosopage, Tilbin, Sir Cryheart, Xorus, Cruxophim, Sreka, Xanthium, Lord Zolis, Mayor Lylia

Pietra yells, "Everyone go west and join Cryheart!"

Pietra says, "Well, Pukk's not here."

Speaking to Pietra, Zosopage says, "East."

Pietra yells, "Sorry, go east twice now and join Cryheart! Then smooch him!"

Tsarok quietly says, "Those poor confused people."

Pietra says, "I really miss Pukk now. I don't even know which way is what."

Speaking to Pietra, Leafiara says, "Just eight days to go until he's back, at least."

A sleek white falcon can be seen swooping through the night, its ivory wings glistening from the light rain as it glides above. It circles over town, then disappears into the night.

Speaking to Leafiara, Pietra says, "Hopefully no one will need cardinal directions until that time."

Speaking wryly to Pietra, Leafiara asks, "Don't bet on it?"

Speaking to Cruxophim, Xanthium says, "I never know what or who I'm looking at."

Xorus says, "Well, I, for one, welcome our new magisterial overlords."

Wolfloner darkly asks, "Whose falcon?"

Cruxophim simply jests, "You gaze upon greatness."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Leafiara says, "Grand Magister Octaven, most likely."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Pietra says, "I thought you were an empath."

Cruxophim positions his hand over his black ora pendant and quickly snaps his hand back, causing some moons to spin within their casing. A sinister black haze radiates outward from beneath his hand and blankets him in its light.

Cruxophim nonchalantly muses, "Is this better?"

Speaking to Cruxophim, Xanthium says, "Great and a little sticky."

A large dark blue steel golem wanders in.

Speaking to a large dark blue steel golem, Leafiara says, "Maybe we can ask her when she's taking all of you away."

Speaking to a large dark blue steel golem, Xanthium asks, "Perhaps that's why he's here. Wouldn't be for any of us, would it?"

Speaking teasingly to Leafiara, Cruxophim protests, "I worked hard to demand those!"

Speaking to Cruxophim, Leafiara sighs, "You really did. But they so rarely listen."

Cordarius: "Good evening friends!"

Leafiara: "Evening, Cordarius."

Speaking fondly to Forreya, Cruxophim remarks, "Bestie."

Lylia: "Good evening to you."

Zosopage: "Good evening, Cordarius."

Cryheart: "Good evening, Cordarius."

Lehon: "Gooood mornin!"

Cryheart says, "Cordarius on the net."

Guarrin: "Evening."

Forreya says, "Theo doesn't like the gross things."

Cruxophim: "Evening!"

Cordarius: "I'm no soothsayer, but if I had to guess, you are all huddled about outside of Moot Hall in a light rain?"

Cryheart: "A good guess."

Cruxophim: "However did you guess?"

Lylia: "Not a challenging guess, but yes."

Zosopage: "Rain?"

Cryheart: "Tis the one time some citizens get a bath."

Cordarius: "I'll be along soon. I've some...news. Perhaps somewhere not so outside and wet and blighty?"

Cruxophim: "How about the Mayor's Office?"

Lylia: "You are welcome in my office."

Xorus: "Out of the blighted rain, then?"

Cordarius: "Then there I shall come!"

Cryheart says, "Ok..to the mayor's off."

Lylia says, "All of you are welcome in my office. Cordarius shall meet us there."

Cordarius Banter

[Moot Hall, Mayor Lylia's Office]

From a dais, the maoral desk and an ivory and velvet curule seat loom over two carved wooden chairs. Tapestry rugs cover the hardwood floor, their patterns complementing the arched windows flanking the desk. A stag's head stares at a panoramic fresco mounted opposite it. In a corner near the bar, a scarred witchwood perch rises to the high ceiling, while several feet away, a black iron stove rests against the west wall and is topped with a silver kettle. You also see a small maoral sideboard with some stuff on it, a maoral bookcase and a varnished modwir door.

Lord Cordarius just came through a varnished modwir door.

Cordarius dusts off his ashen-hued robe.

Cordarius removes the hood of his robe, revealing his features.

Cordarius bows.

Cordarius exclaims, "Good evening!"

Speaking to Cordarius, Zosopage says, "Good evenin."

Cordarius rubs his hands by the stove.

Cryheart says, "Good evening."

Lylia says, "It will be a very good one indeed if you bear good news about the blight."

Speaking affably to Cordarius, Cruxophim greets, "Evening, Lord Corduroy."

Speaking to Cordarius, Xanthium says, "At least we're back to rain again, albeit that of late winter."

Cordarius says, "Well, yes. We'll meet again this...maybe weekend? To take action on our next blight discussion."

Xanthium says, "Oh, this is Corduroy."

Cordarius says, "But this discussion will need to have some action."

Leafiara pleasedly says, "Excellent news, then."

Cordarius says, "So, more on that soon."

Cordarius nods.

Speaking to Cordarius, Sreka asks, "What sort of action?"

Speaking regretfully to Cordarius, Cruxophim laments, "I'm afraid my research has fallen a bit behind."

Cordarius says, "Like...make some fires? Sacrifice some orphans. Take some action, experiment. We've got to do something. Soon."

Speaking amicably to Cordarius, Cruxophim concludes, "That all sounds amenable."

Cryheart says, "Please, no sacrificing of the orphas."

Xorus says, "Had I known we would be open to sacrificing orphans..."

Cordarius examines Cruxophim closely, sizing him up and taking note of all the details.

Lylia says, "Random experimentation is wasteful."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Look, I got to meet Corduroy."

Cordarius says, "Your gauntlets look so well spoken."

Speaking curiously to Cordarius, Cruxophim ventures, "Orphans first, or fire? Or a twofer?"

Cordarius snickers at Cruxophim.

Speaking pointedly to Cordarius, Raelee says, "We have been taking action and experimenting. Endlessly. For months."

Cordarius nods at Raelee.

Speaking amicably to Cordarius, Cruxophim suggests, "Throw the orphans on the fire."

Speaking to Cordarius, Faerinn asks, "Haven't you been setting fires already, Corduroy?"

Berost deeply asks, "We killin Stone?"

Cordarius says, "Yes yes, but. It's time for the fires."

Xanthium says, "The sheep and velnalins look better, anyway."

Speaking to Raelee, Loamian says, "There has been some success."

Cordarius asks, "I'm sorry, what Faerry?"

Cordarius peers quizzically at Faerinn.

Leafiara says, "Hopefully any rain won't put out these particular fires. We get a lot of that at night."

Lylia says, "All this talk of burnings and murder, and I invited you all here for tea..."

Cordarius says, "Let's use names."

Cordarius winks.

Speaking gently to Cryheart, Cruxophim reminds, "I'm kidding."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "That's not too bad."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "As far as nicknames go sure."

Speaking thoughtfully to Cordarius, Cruxophim inquires, "Any further leads?"

Trial of Pylasar

Speaking to Cordarius, Leafiara asks, "So, if the blight and the fires aren't until later, what does bring you here tonight?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "There's a certain charm in reclaiming a poetic term."

Cordarius says, "Well, I've some news, and wanted to share."

Cordarius says, "...and if no one shows up to help me with the blight this weekend...I understand."

Cordarius says, "But..."

Cordarius glances out of the window.

Cordarius nods.

Cryheart asks, "Whom do ye need to aid ye?"

Leafiara remarks, "Seems pretty unlikely unless this is some crazy news."

Speaking to Cordarius, Faerinn says, "Gonna throw some of that fire on Stone? I'm curious what it would do to him."

Hleef says, "All weekend, or just one day, some of us have multiple dinners to attend."

Cordarius says, "Grand Magister Octaven has initiated a trial be conducted here, locally, within a few week's time."

Lazaryth says, "A trial."

Speaking to Cordarius, Sreka asks, "What kind of trial?"

Lylia asks, "Pylasar?"

Leafiara asks, "Of who?"

Cordarius says, "The trial of Pylasar."

Pietra says, "I hate trials."

Xorus says, "Mm."

Speaking wryly to Cordarius, Cruxophim notes, "Ah."

Speaking to Cordarius, Xanthium asks, "Have you found him, then?"

Lazaryth says, "I take it this means he's -"

Lazaryth says, "Yes."

Cordarius says, "No."

Cordarius says, "He is still missing."

Leafiara dubiously asks, "Then isn't that a bit of a waste of resources?"

Xanthium asks, "...you're going to try him in absentia?"

Lazaryth says, "I'm sure this all makes perfect sense to someone."

Xorus says, "One hardly needs to be present to be found guilty."

Faerinn says, "Trials in absentia are hardly trials."

Lylia says, "I have heard of men being tried in their absence, and their effigies hanged."

Speaking to Cordarius, Sreka asks, "What good is that going to do, if you can't find him?"

Lylia offhandedly remarks, "Not the way I do business, but...well."

Xanthium asks, "What's he being charged with?"

Cordarius says, "The trial is scheduled to occur on the 20th and 21st of this month. Charlatos."

Speaking wryly to Xanthium, Xorus asks, "All of those things he did?"

Leafiara muses, "I guess Falvicar would be happy, at least."

Speaking to Cordarius, Loamian asks, "Who will act as defense?"

Cordarius says, "All local citizens and adventures will be invited to speak in defense, or against him."

Speaking to Xorus, Xanthium asks, "I might want to hear it, hmm?"

Speaking dryly to Leafiara, Cruxophim deadpans, "Well, good for him."

Lylia says, "The specific charges would, of course, be critical to the case itself, yes."

Speaking to Cordarius, Faerinn says, "This trial part of your councilman gig or mage gig? I want to keep track of which legal edifice is growing thin here."

Lazaryth murmurs, "I don't know that Falvicar will be happy with anything other than killing the man himself."

Cordarius says, "Both."

Speaking to Cordarius, Sreka asks, "Is the judge honest?"

Faerinn says, "Wonderful."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Leafiara acknowledges, "Also possible, but I figure his better judgment might win out."

Cordarius says, "Judge Renpaw will oversee. The Town Council will weigh in."

Lylia frostily says, "And the mayoral office, I presume. As long as we are scuffing out political lines here."

Faerinn says, "Just add that to my notes. We do trials without charges and accused now."

Pietra says, "And the town council is composed solely of people like this one. Sounds quite unfair."

Loamian says, "For expediency."

Cordarius says, "The trial is said to be focused on his involvement with Raznel and her crimes."

Guarrin deeply asks, "Why here?"

Faerinn says, "Might as well just go throw a wicker man down the well and not waste everyone's time."

Speaking dubiously to Cordarius, Leafiara inquires, "Even if he's found guilty, what then? Do you spend resources on finding him, when word is that the outpost is concerned with Grishom Stone?"

Speaking casually to Faerinn, Cruxophim agrees, "Might as well."

Speaking to Cordarius, Shinann says, "He attoned. He helped us get rid of her."

Cordarius says, "He is a citizen of Wehnimer's Landing currently, and being a protectorate, she...we thought it best to hold a trial here first."

Shinann says, "He did not have to do that."

Faerinn says, "Maybe our crops will end up less blightened."

Speaking to Cordarius, Pietra says, "She, you said she."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "The Hall of Mages does have the resources to focus on more than one problem at a time."

Xorus echoes, "First."

Cruxophim mutters, "Where to begin."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara reasons, "He's lost in time, if not all of Kezmon Isle. This seems a bit much of a problem to resolve."

Cordarius says, "Well, so, there's that."

Speaking wryly to himself, Cruxophim interjects, "I've got no waern in this fight."

Cordarius says, "I'll be back this weekend and we can further dive into the blight and our next, official step. So, come prepared and mana ready."

Berost deeply says, "Whhy waste any time wit' it? Fools errand."

Hleef says, "Ooo."

Lylia says, "I am always prepared."

Cordarius says, "Any questions? No. Okay. Good..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "It is not just about right or wrong or guilt or the lack thereof. To find him... is about answers and all that we do not yet know."

Hleef says, "I have mana."

Speaking to Cordarius, Pietra asks, "Who is she?"

Raelee seriously says, "Little is more important than that..."

Speaking to Cordarius, Faerinn says, "So who is this she you get your marching orders from now, councilman? The one that likes ornamental, show trials."

Cordarius grins at Pietra.

Speaking to Cordarius, Sreka says, "I have all the questions."

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara asks, "Haven't you all been investigating Kezmon Isle for centuries anyway? Or is this what it takes to look into it?"

Cordarius asks, "Marching orders?"

Cordarius says, "I do work for Grand Magister Octaven, who works for someone, who works for someone, who works for someone."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee says, "One might call it a rather different approach."

Hleef says, "Sounds shady."

Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "Archmagister Naylor. And the Royal Magister."

Speaking musingly to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Well, if you say so. I do agree it's worth figuring out the mystery of the isle, at least."

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Faerinn says, "Right gotta have folks to toss into the well and call a rogue element if things go sour politically."

Speaking dryly to Raelee, Cruxophim grouses, "I'll keep working on the blight, in the meanwhile."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "They might run out of hathlyn that way."

Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin asks, "Did you miss the part about his involvement with Raznel?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Sreka says, "But this could happen to any mayor, and they'd be stuck with the same situation whether they liked it or not."

Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn asks, "Did you miss the part were we don't have the accused and charge?"

Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "Yet."

Lylia says, "I welcome the trial here, assuming Pylasar can be found at all. Which is a large assumption."

Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn asks, "Or is that the kind of order y'all are bringing?"

Xanthium asks, "Would you all have been able to kill Raznel without his assistance?"

Lylia asks, "Why should he not be tried here, where he is a citizen?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Leafiara says, "Almost definitely not."

Lylia pointedly says, "As he became one before becoming part of the Town Council."

Speaking amusedly to Guarrin, Cruxophim remarks, "I'm not sure what part of 'lost in time' is easily resolved, but I look forward to seeing the solution."

Speaking deeply to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "I didn't realize I was bringing any order."

Xorus says, "Pylasar would not have been able to kill Raznel without my assistance."

Speaking to Xorus, Leafiara agrees, "Also true."

Lylia says, "Yours, yes. And others'."

Cordarius says, "Well, I suppose that covers it."

Lylia says, "It 'covers it' about as well as a diaper on a fully-grown man."

Cordarius says, "I am sure some will come forward for and against. I'll provide more details as we get closer to the trial."

Cordarius exclaims, "Goodnight everyone!"

Zosopage says, "Rest well."

Leafiara offhandedly says, "Well, good night then."

Lord Cordarius just went through a varnished modwir door.

Discussion Afterward

Faerinn says, "Hope we get a chance to talk to the Blight this weekend."

Leafiara mutters, "That was an odd one, and not the good Cruxophim kind."

Pietra says, "Well he's sure a breath of fetid air."

Speaking dramatically to Faerinn, Cruxophim mouths, "Mmmmmyessssss?"

Shinann says, "I do not like this at all."

Sreka says, "That was silly."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Chaoswynd says, "He said blight, not bat."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "Mother will certainly come along, if she can assist. I'll get word to her."

Lazaryth says, "It could be worse. The Hall of Mages could be doing all these things, and -not- telling us."

Speaking dryly to Chaoswynd, Cruxophim scolds, "Okay, Stormy."

Speaking curiously to Xanthium, Leafiara says, "You have--"

Xorus says, "It would be strange, indeed, if they allowed an acquittal by ourselves to be the final word."

Leafiara suddenly says, "Oh, Ysharra, right."

Speaking absently to Chaoswynd, Cruxophim mutters, "Oh."

Cruxophim covers his black ora pendant with his palm, and a sinister black haze surrounding his form fades. [In all the noise I didn't catch a look, but I believe he uses the vesperti bloodrune? I think that's the joke.]

Sreka says, "A trial without the person who's on trial, by a judge who let off the last person who was on trial..." [OOC: Not sure what this is referring to. Malluch was convicted and is still in prison. Carenos' trial was interrupted before a verdict, but he was continually held in prison anyway. If we're including the everyday "trials" from the justice system, then that's fair enough since everyone basically just gets off with a fine.]

Lylia says, "He did mention that this would be Pylasar's first trial."

Speaking to Leafiara, Lazaryth asks, "Were you surprised that she had a mother?"

Speaking to Sreka, Loamian asks, "Who did Judge Renpaw let off?"

Speaking to Lazaryth, Leafiara says, "No, no--we just have too many 'Mothers' around here."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Faerinn says, "Last time he gave us an update it was after he started setting anti-magical fires on his own."

Speaking to Lylia, Sreka asks, "Why does he need more than one?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Xanthium says, "She's still got her grey hair from the last time."

Lazaryth says, "Ah."

Speaking to Sreka, Faerinn says, "Sounds like double jeopardy."

Speaking to Faerinn, Lazaryth says, "I suppose I don't mind him setting fires without telling us, as long as it isn't here."

Speaking to Sreka, Lylia says, "I would assume it refers to multiple crimes in multiple jurisdictions."

Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "Maybe they will announce one at some point."

Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia asks, "Would be nice, would it not?"

Xanthium asks, "A jurisdiction, or a conviction?"

Xanthium says, "It all seems about the same right now."

Speaking to Lazaryth, Leafiara says, "The rather small jurisdiction of the Landing, always a fascinating topic. He could do it right outside the gates, if that counts as 'here.'"

Pietra says, "Sounds like they'll go straight to conviction."

Shinann says, "After all Pylasar has done for this town.."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Sure if kind of them to make it all into a show."

Raelee quietly says, "... Pylasar has existed for a very long time. He has done a great deal, for better and for worse. Much of it has absolutely nothing to do with anyone or anything here. Thus, trials in the plural."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium asks, "Do you think this is what he deserves?"

Raelee says, "I find myself lacking an opinion on what he deserves."

Speaking to Cruxophim, Xanthium says, "...you're very kind, but no."

Lylia says, "A hearing is what he deserves. Or multiple ones, if that is what the law deems necessary."

Tsarok quietly says, "The only way Peter is going to be found is if he wants to be found. Perhaps he will want to 'atone' for some of his poor choices. Best we can do is make certain he has a fair trial."

Pietra softly says, "I've seen the man weep, and seen how his mind is lost. I don't think he deserves more punishment than he already feels."

Lylia says, "We would, perhaps, learn much from the discovery phase."

Sreka quietly says, "I think he should be at his trial or hearing or whatever to speak for himself, anyway."

Cruxophim nonchalantly offers, "Anyone else hungry?" [Crux was passing out his donuts all throughout]

Speaking to Cruxophim, Xanthium says, "I don't share all of her eccentricities when it comes to food, but..."

Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "Law seems to be made to fit whatever show they want to put on at the moment."

Leafiara admits, "I'm more interested in whether they think they have a way to locate him."

Cryheart asks, "Was he banished from the Hall of Mages already?"

Speaking to Cruxophim, Lazaryth asks, "Do you really expect me to take that?"

Zosopage says, "On the one hand he deserves to die and other the other he doesn't. So cut him in half...."

Leafiara says, "I assume they must at least have some hope, to go through with this trial."

Speaking to Cryheart, Raelee says, "He was removed from the Hall years ago."

Speaking to Cryheart, Raelee says, "In part due to his fault in Grishom Stone's escape."

Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "Well, yes. Two years has not been enough to clarify the murky legal waters here."

Cryheart says, "Was thinking of alternative consequences."

Cruxophim nonchalantly announces, "Well, back to research. Fair eve, all."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "It is reasonable that they might have a great deal of evidence. I am not sure what to think."

Lylia says, "I have to assume that Magister Octaven has a better idea where and when he is than we know."

Shadows rise from the floor, surrounding Cruxophim and he vanishes.

Leafiara exclaims, "We're countin' on ya!"

Leafiara says, "Hopefully he heard that."

Faerinn asks, "Why is there sausage in this donut and why is it sweet?"

Shinann asks, "Why is this even Hall business, then?"

Cryheart says, "Sweet sausage."

Lazaryth says, "Likewise, I'm not sure I have the will to stand about any longer discussing Pylasar's fate."

Speaking to Faerinn, Lylia says, "It is a donut, which is why it is sweet, and the sausage in the donut makes it...special."

Speaking bemusedly to Faerinn, Zolis says, "Surprise, surprise."

Cryheart says, "And the blood in it."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "That's bacon. And it's sweet because it keeps you from thinking about what else is in it."

Faerinn says, "The real shame of Talador is this is the only blood sausage I seem to be able to find anymore."

Raelee says, "Crimes committed over centries within the Empire as a member, then a Magister, and a Grand Magister."

Speaking confidently to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Oh, I'm quite sure Crux or Goblyn can get you as much as you like."

Lylia says, "I am surprised to hear that."

Raelee vexedly says, "... do not ask questions if you will not linger for the answers."

Xorus says, "Nor are they small crimes. Multiple regicides."

Loamian says, "I should also go, I was hoping for more discussion of blight."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "Yeah, no more of this fake stuff."

Speaking wryly to Loamian, Leafiara says, "More pressing matters indeed, at least to most of us."

Leafiara says, "Ah well... always the weekend for that, it seems."

Lylia says, "The blight is, of course, our primary concern."

Lylia says, "I expect to discuss it at length this week's end."

Raelee paces back and forth.

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara observes, "You seem more--well, I was going to say more 'troubled' than usual, but that's not quite the right word. More animated."

Speaking to Lylia, Faerinn says, "Maybe the Hall of Mages will streamline it to effigies selected before hand too."

Xanthium says, "Wicker men."

Speaking to Faerinn, Pietra asks, "A pre-effigy, if you will?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn corrects, "Strawmen."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "You know, that would be funny if it weren't somewhat chilling, too. Or rather, flaming."

Zolis deeply asks, "Are we just going to start slinging around wildly speculative conspiracy theories now?"

Speaking to Zolis, Leafiara says, "That's about half the weeks in the Landing."

Leafiara adds, "If not more."

Xanthium says, "If so, they are past my own peripherals."

Raelee glances at Xanthium.

Speaking to Xanthium, Lylia says, "I look forward to seeing you soon."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Zolis says, "A fine point.. the panic and jumping to conclusions are the status quo."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium asks, "...what is it, Magister?"

Raelee brusquely asks, "What is what, precisely?"

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "I thought you were about to ask me something."

Raelee says, "... no."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "All right."

Speaking to Raelee, Xanthium says, "My mistake. Have a good night, Magister."
