Nexus Dyes

Nexus Dyes is a shop in Ta'Illistim that sells dyes. It is located in a small warehouse on Glimaer Wey one northwest of the movers.

Nexus

Arches of different colors branch off at eight points of the compass. The slate floor is bare but for a sleek black marble counter in front of three prosperous-looking gnomes dressed in checkered fustian livery. Above all hangs a bright crystal chandelier. You also see an arch.

Blue Room

Directions: northeast from Nexus

The deep midnight blue ceiling blends and lightens on the walls, gradually shifting to a soft icy blue carpet on the floor. Dye bottles with their matching fabric swatches shine brightly on counter tops under a warm yellow light emitted from orbs netted in slender mithril cords. You also see a blue-veined marble display case with some stuff on it, a short mithril cabinet with some stuff on it, a blue sea glass shelf with some stuff on it and a lacquered ebon table with some stuff on it.

Pale tangerine walls offset sunset-hued plush carpeting. Several display counters show off dyes of various colors underneath a pale yellow light held emitted from orbs hung from the ceiling with slim gold cords. You also see a fancy wrought iron table with some stuff on it, a mirrored chestnut cabinet with some stuff on it, a waxed kakore shelf with some stuff on it and a varnished wicker stand with some stuff on it.

Slashes of a variety of shades of green, from chartreuse to emerald, mimic the canopy of a densely packed forest. Shelves made of deadfall branches, their bark still in place, jut out at odd angles from the walls. A clear golden orb hangs suspended from the ceiling by braided birch bark cords. You also see a laminated oak hutch with some stuff on it, a polished spruce cabinet with some stuff on it, a fern-motif painted table with some stuff on it and a carved acacia shelf with some stuff on it.

Footsteps ring on the steel plate floor, the noise reverberating off of all of the metal surfaces. Outside of the fabric swatches in front of the bottles of dye on the copper shelves, nothing soft or yielding is present in this room. A large orb hangs brilliantly from a braided mithril and faenor cord. You also see a blued vultite shelf with some stuff on it, a copper-clad chest with some stuff on it, an ora-topped cabinet with some stuff on it and a brushed steel counter with some stuff on it.

Dazzling in its stark simplicity, the room's white is relieved only by the bottles of dye and matching fabric swatches displayed on its white marble counters. A massive glowing orb reveals every shade to its utmost depth of color as it hangs suspended from a fragile knotted silk net attached to the ceiling. You also see a glass-topped bamboo shelf with some stuff on it, a short fel counter with some stuff on it, a round walnut table with some stuff on it and an abalone-inlaid hutch with some stuff on it.

Red Room

Shades of red, from the lightest pink to the deepest carmine, cover every surface. Red marble tiles cover the floor, nearly obscured by rows of display cases holding dyes in bottles ranging from a few ounces to a couple of gallons in size. In front of each bottle, there is a small swatch of fabric dyed the color of the contents. A massive orb glows the color of day from a knotted silk net tied to the ceiling. You also see a narrow haon counter with some stuff on it, a marble shelf with some stuff on it, a mahogany cabinet with some stuff on it and a polished cherry table with some stuff on it.

Mixing Room

Carefully pouring ground dye mixes into clear glass bottles, several gnomes work with unhurried efficiency. One gnome dips a brush into a thick glue, brushes it across the front of full bottles, then hands them to the gnome next to him to label. Light pours in from the west, adding to the light provided by two large chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. You also see a disgruntled clerk and a stone plaque.

Storage Room

Metal shelving filled from edge to edge dominates this otherwise stark, dimly lit room. The gleam from candles in tall brass candlesticks set in the corners reveals bell jars, desiccation jars, and other secure storage containers neatly labeled on the shelves.

Grinding Room

Directions: east from Mixing Room

[Grinding Room]	RNUM: u34184
Several mortars and pestles sit on small round tables, their grinding areas stained with color. Gnomes sit at some of the tables and use the tools to grind barks, flower petals, and other raw materials into a paste. Tall jars of alcohol diluent sit on shelves lining one wall, while the opposite wall holds a sluice and sink. Bright white orbs hang pendulously from the ceiling.
