Tiu and Qaiteke saddles were first introduced at Rumor Woods in 2022 with the release of lizard mounts. While similar to Saddle Me Up saddles, they come only in the form of the nakaten, which is a Tehir-style saddle exclusive for use on lizard mounts.

The Nakaten is a heavyweight saddle designed for lizard mounts only, and it features a flat, wide seat, a minimal pommel, and no gullet. Instead of a horn, it has a pommel ring -- either a single upright ring or double outward angled rings that jut out from the pommel area. It has a high, back-angled cantle with a fantail. The strap system includes forward and rear girth straps that connect via the legs and front of the chest. Saddle blanket (nakatela in Tehir) use is common, and pads are never used. It is heavy compared to other saddle styles.

--------- ALTERATION INFORMATION ---------
The noun cannot change. So what can you do? Any merchant may alter the article, adjective, and/or long description of the nakaten. They can also add a show description that will append to the hard-coded LOOK. All alterations must be in keeping with the saddle's style (see below). It is also recommended that you avoid show descriptions that rely on the long description for future-forward accessory use that temporarily changes the long description.

Note that some aspects of the LOOK are hard-coded (such as the length of the stirrups) and cannot currently be modified by a merchant. Currently, the pommel ring is set up as single, which CAN be swapped out (between single and double) by willing merchants.

This saddle's style (which is not currently eligible to be changed to another style) is set to nakaten (Tehir). For alteration purposes, keep the following in mind: It has a flat, wide seat, a minimal pommel, and no gullet. Instead of a horn, it has a "pommel ring(s)" -- either a single upright ring or double outward angled rings that jut out from the pommel area. It has a high, back-angled cantle with a fantail. The strap system includes forward and rear girth straps that connect via the legs and front of the chest. Saddle blanket ("nakatela" in Tehir) use is common, and pads are never used. It is heavy compared to other saddle styles.

PUSH
(nakaten on lizard)
Leaning hard into the motion, you shove roughly at the nakaten to make sure it's secure on a sinewy gold fringe-toed yierka's back. The beast sways with a small huff of annoyance, and a broad swipe of his tail narrowly misses you. PUSH
(while mounted)
Kicking free of the stirrups, you fluidly spin around your nakaten's pommel ring until you are facing backward on your fringe-toed yierka. You shift your grip on the ring as you rotate, your feet barely kissing the ground before you haul yourself smoothly back up into the nakaten with the facility of an acrobat, once again facing forward. Additional Information

Show

Tiu and Qaiteke saddles have a hard-coded Show that is part of their design. While an additional Show can be altered onto the saddle, the hard-coded portion will remain as part of it.

Crafted in a Tehir style, the nakaten bears a minimal pommel and stirrups that hang down at a middling length.

Restrictions The noun cannot change. Any merchant may alter the article, adjective, and/or long description of the nakaten. They can also add a show description that will append to the hard-coded LOOK. All alterations must be in keeping with the saddle's style. It is also recommended that you avoid show descriptions that rely on the long description for future-forward accessory use that temporarily changes the long description. Note that some aspects of the LOOK are hard-coded (such as the length of the stirrups) and cannot currently be modified by a merchant. The pommel ring can be swapped between single or double by willing merchants.
