The INCANT overrides have been updated to include allowing OPEN/CLOSED as options: |

Subject: HSN: Verb EVOKE Released!
Hi everybody! (Scroll down to == MECHANICS == if you hate unicorns and kittens)
Let's talk about verbs. I love verbs, you love verbs, we ALL love verbs... Except critters. They would have much better lives without verbs, I think. Anyways, CHANNEL has been a verb for a while that gives you some hard roundtime on casting a spell in exchange for casting a more powerful version of the spell.
Well, with the ELR running amok (Seriously, go check it out!) we realized that there are some spells that have a secondary version, but aren't REALLY more powerful. So what do we do about this? Seriously. Tell me. I'll wait. NO I WON'T I'M TOO EXCITED. Get down to the mechanics section so I can stop typing. Please. Are you still reading this? Wow. I am impressed. How long should I keep this going? You tell me. This is the release note that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends...
MECHANICS (These aren't really mechanics, exactly, but why change something that works?)
A new verb, EVOKE, has been released to replace some instances of CHANNEL and set us up the bomb for some new things coming out for the ELR. With that, here's what we've got:
Phase (704), Divine Wrath (335), and Minor Water (903) now use EVOKE instead of CHANNEL for the second version of their spells being cast.
Questions? Comments? Love? Hate? Let's hear it! Join on up in the fun!

Subject: INCANT Verb Updated!
Hi everybody!
The INCANT verb has been updated to help deal with some of the new complexity introduced by the EVOKE verb as well as hopefully make it more useful overall. Here's the list of things that changed:
- INCANT SET {CHANNEL|EVOKE|OPEN} {spell} now allows you to toggle options for all spells that have these types of casting available to them.
- CHANNEL, when set, will cause that particular spell to be CHANNELed whenever incanted.
- EVOKE, when set, will cause that particular spell to be EVOKEd whenever incanted.
- OPEN, when set, will cause INCANT to no longer ensure that there is a valid target for an AoE spell before casting it.
- INCANT SET will show you all of your current incant settings.
- INCANT {spell} {CHANNEL|EVOKE|CAST} will override your normal incant settings for this one incant, allowing you to use INCANT and still use all versions of the spell.
- Due to this new set of options, the CHANNELINCANT setting has been deprecated.
- Also, Cone of Elements now allows you to add your element of choice to INCANT.
- INCANT 518 AIR (Use incant settings to cast/evoke an AIR Cone.)
- INCANT 518 EVOKE ACID (Evoke an acid cone)
I'll be around to answer questions or take comments! Let me know what you think!

Hi Everybody! I'm here with some breaking news!
The INCANT overrides have been updated to include allowing OPEN/CLOSED as options:
- INCANT {spell} [OPEN|CLOSED] {CHANNEL|EVOKE|CAST}
- Note: OPEN/CLOSED is optional, but if included has to come before the CHANNEL/EVOKE/CAST part.
I have also added 118, 412, 504, 609, 703, 716, 1602, and 1608 to the list of spells that can be SET or overridden to open cast.

Done! I've added CLOSED as an INCANT SET option.

Thanks to GameMaster Konacon, you can set INCANT to automatically do it:
>incant set channel 903 INCANT will now use CHANNEL for the Minor Water spell. >incant set evoke 903 INCANT will now use CHANNEL EVOKE for the Minor Water spell. >incant 903 Your hands glow with power as you invoke the phrase for Minor Water... Your spell is ready. You channel at a giant rat. You hurl a seething blast of steam at a giant rat! AS: +312 vs DS: +25 with AvD: +70 + d100 roll: +1 = +358 ... and hit for 226 points of damage! Steaming ocular fluid cooks eyeball evenly. Hors d'oeuvres anyone? The giant rat is stunned! Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds. Roundtime: 3 sec.
Or you can use the override option:
INCANT 903 CHANNEL EVOKE
