First introduced at the Dragonfly Festival in 2007, the glaesine crystal dragonfly is a reward for completing an automated quest associated with the event. It was reintroduced at the Dragonfly Festival in 2023. The dragonfly is pin-worn and has the ability to instantly transport the owner from anywhere in Elanthia to Cysaegir once a month, or once a week if the owner is aelotoi, via TOUCH. The dragonflies are awarded in a locked state but an be unlocked by a festival merchant. AnalyzeYou analyze your crystal dragonfly and sense that the creator has provided the following information: A glaesine crystal dragonfly is a gift from the Dragonfly Festival that was introduced in 5107 and re-introduced in 5123. It will transport the wearer to Cysaegir once a month unless the wearer is an Aelotoi, in which case it will transport the wearer once per week. It is an attuned item and is attuned to you! It is currently Tier 1 of 3. It has access to the following verbs: Remove, Rub, Tap, Touch, and Wear. It may be unlocked by an Aelotoi Merchant at the Dragonfly Festival. The dragonfly has a loresong. You get no sense of whether or not the dragonfly may be further lightened. Tier 1Usage

AppearanceThe dragonfly has a hard-coded appearance that can vary slightly. Before receiving the dragonfly for completing the quest, you can ask the assistant for a specific wood (ironwood, willow, fel, modwir, maoral, haon, mahogany, monir or tanik) or flower (one of the 50 flowers requested), which will determine what your dragonfly looks like in the end. This delicate dragonfly has been carved from a single piece of iridescent glaesine crystal. It has been etched with such exceptional detail that the prismatic hues of the wings make it appear strikingly realistic. Poised on some mournbloom flowers carved from haon, the sculpture embodies the inherent beauty of the Cysaegir dragonfly. There appears to be something written on it. This delicate dragonfly has been carved from a single piece of iridescent glaesine crystal. Poised on a morning glory carved from maoral, the sculpture embodies the inherent beauty of the Cysaegir dragonfly. There appears to be something written on it. In the Common language, it reads: To preserve the memory of the past, the struggle of the present, the hope of the future, and the honor of all. QuestTo win the dragonfly, one had to find a list of fifty flowers and other foraged items. Several items on the list cannot be foraged, but can be found along Whistler's Pass both north and south of Cysaegir where they randomly spawned in the room. The flowers that cannot be foraged are italicized on the list below. The quest NPC is a dark-eyed slender assistant named Eyaeno located at the Cysaegir Pond (lich 4662, uu14050015). In the Common language, it reads: Flowers to turn in: Alyssum Dahlia Iris blossom Ranunculus Anemone Daisy Jasmine Rose Aster Dandelion Lady Slipper blossom Snapdragon stalk Begonia Dragonstalk Larkspur Sunflower Blaestonberry blossom Foxglove Lavender Trillium Bleeding-Heart Freesia Lilac Tuberose Bluebells Gardenia Stargazer Lily Tulip Celosia Geranium Morning Glory Verbena Clematis Godetia Mournbloom Violet Clover blossom Heather Orchid Wolfsbane blossom Columbine Honeysuckle vine Pansy Zinnia Crocus Hydrangea Peony Daffodil Imaera's Lace Queen's Lace Asking the NPC about various options gives more information about the quest and the aelotoi in general. HELP: "There are many things I can help you with," Eyaeno says. "I can talk to you about the AELOTOI, the QUEST, FLOWERS, FLORA, the LIST of flowers, WOOD, the CEREMONY, and TRADITION." AELOTOI: Eyaeno smiles, "My people are a simple people. We escaped a dying world and by good fortune were brought here. We are much like the beautiful dragonfly. We started our lives trapped in another world, just as the dragonfly is trapped in its exuvia. We emerged here and found a new freedom, just as the dragonfly finds its wings and the freedom of the air." QUEST: Smiling, Eyaeno says, "What better palette for a quest then the bounty of our new home! Bring to me the flowers that I list and I will fashion a rare gift for you." FLOWERS: "You can pick any of the flowers from the list of fifty for the design of your gift, which you will receive by gathering for me one of each of the fifty flowers," Eyaeno says. "Once you decide, simply TELL me the name of the flower." FLORA: Tilting her head coyly, Eyaeno says, "There are many flowers to find, some fifty in all. If you would like a list, then please ask me for one." LIST: "Ah, yes," Eyaeno says. "Here is your list. Many of the flowers can be found throughout Elanthia, and many can be found here in Cysaegir and Whistler's Pass. If you have questions about specific flowers, then please don't hesitate to ask me about them by name." WOOD: Grinning broadly, Eyaeno says, "The woods that you may pick from are: ironwood, willow, fel, modwir, maoral, haon, mahogany, monir or tanik. To pick a type, simply TELL me the wood of your preference." CEREMONY: "The Ceremony of Remembrance," Eyaeno begins, "is a ceremony where we gather flowers and weave them into wreaths. We all will assemble around a bonfire and remember those that have passed before us. As we speak the name of our ancestor, we will lay the wreath upon the fire so that the ashes will be lifted on the wind and carried to where our ancestors are so that they might enjoy the flowers, colors, and scents that were forbidden them in life." TRADITION: Somberly, Eyaeno says, "We did not always live in such a beautiful place. Once, we lived as slaves in another place far from here. We were forbidden even the simplest of joys. Our elders created a ceremony that would at least allow our ancestors that had passed beyond some of the joy that we could not have." Loresong
