The Ninefold Tale of Revelia

I. Revelia is a faraway land where the denizens honor their beloved patron Cholen, and the first of his servants Tilamaire, as well as his brother Jastev throughout the year.

II. Cholen and Tilamaire first observed that there were corners of Elanith that lacked for song and revelry, and set out to bring their light to these dark places.

III. To bring their idea to the mortal realm, they prevailed upon Cholen’s brother Jastev to reveal their desires to those mortals most able to remedy the need, the people of Revelia.

IV. For the favor of relaying this revelation to the mortals, Jastev included his own geas to the mortals, that they would not neglect the visual arts as well as those of his kin.

V. The revelations came to the people of Revelia in nine separate omens, each embodied within a different sphere of the influences of the three Arkati.

VI. The Firsts of Revelia convened a council to study the omens and discern how best to spread the Arkati’s wishes.

VII. The nine councilmembers spent nine days in seclusion, the council returned with their decree.

VIII. Each year, Nine Muses of Revelia were to be selected from among the people to embody the wishes of the Arkati and to spread the love of art, music, dance and all things that bring joy to dark places

IX. After many years, all of Revelia was lit with joy and now the Nine Muses finally begin to travel the rest of Elanith to bring the favor of the Arkati to the nine corners of the world...
