Weaving was released in 2006 as "Secrets of the Wavedancer". Weaving gives the user the opportunity to create wearable items with flowers, herbs, pelts, leaves, gemstones, feathers, and ribbons.

Weaving-enabled Items

Weaving-enabled items are sometimes sold at festival events off the shelf. Many items can also become enabled for weaving by the use of weaving tools. See below for the ANALYZE of items ready for weaving.

MATERIAL TYPES LOCATIONS NOTES
Flowers Foraged and found All over Elanthia * Found flowers need to be cut with snips

Bead

You analyze your blue moonstone bead and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable bead. Merchants will require that the bead remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this bead, when woven, will show up as a "blue moonstone bead," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "blue moonstone beads."

To get the full benefit of this bead, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Feather

You analyze your penguin feather and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable feather. Merchants will require that the feather remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this feather, when woven, will show up as a "soft grey penguin feather," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "soft grey penguin feathers."

To get the full benefit of this feather, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Flower

You analyze your sprig of bleeding-heart and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable bleeding-heart. Merchants will require that the bleeding-heart remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this bleeding-heart, when woven, will show up as a "sprig of bleeding-heart," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "sprigs of bleeding-heart."

To get the full benefit of this bleeding-heart, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Ribbon

You analyze your crushed silk ribbon and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable ribbon. Merchants will require that the ribbon remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this ribbon, when woven, will show up as a "jet black crushed silk ribbon," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "jet black crushed silk ribbons."

To get the full benefit of this ribbon, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

Skin

You analyze your troll skin and sense that a talented merchant can alter this weavable skin. Merchants will require that the skin remain some type of item that makes sense for weaving with other similar items to eventually form an item like a garland or anklet. Appropriate items are flowers, ribbons, leaves, string, and the like. When weaving, only the adjective and noun will matter, so bear this in mind. Right now, this skin, when woven, will show up as a "scrap of troll skin," and if there is more than one, you will end up with some "scraps of troll skin."

To get the full benefit of this skin, you can try to WEAVE it WITH another similarly weavable item.

How to Weave

Beginning Your Chain

The two items you choose to start your chain will be the long description of your created item. The show of the item will display how many items you used to weave your creation, as well as what types of items and how many of each.
*You must begin your chain with a leaf and a flower or two leaves, unless you have a tool that enables the use of other materials.

>glance
You glance down to see an intricately woven circlet of pale pink cherry blossoms and pink sapphire beads in your right hand.

>look at my circlet
The woven circlet has 22 things woven into it, among which you see many pale pink cherry blossoms and a few pink sapphire beads.
>glance
You glance down to see a loosely woven bracelet of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves in your right hand.

>look at chain
The woven bracelet has 3 things woven into it, among which you see one bright orange aspen leaf, one spear-shaped willow leaf and one yellow primrose.

Using Two Different Items

To begin weaving, typically you would weave <item> with MY <item>.

>glance
You glance down to see a sprig of bleeding-heart in your right hand and a bronze-veined yellow oak leaf in your left hand.

>weave leaf with my bleeding-heart
You weave a bronze-veined yellow oak leaf together with a sprig of bleeding-heart.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

Using Two Similar Items

If you are trying to weave two leaves of the same type together, you would weave my leaf with my other leaf.

Continuing Your Chain

Once you have begun your chain, adding items to it is relatively simple. You just need to decide what you want to add and what you want to make.

>glance
You glance down to see a yellow primrose in your right hand and a woven chain of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves in your left hand.

>weave chain with primrose
You weave a yellow primrose into a woven chain of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves.
Roundtime: 3 sec.

Choosing Your Creation

In order to choose what you want to make, you need to TURN CHAIN, until you get the desired item. If you have weaved the necessary amount of items into your chain, you are ready to finish your creation. If you have not, it will tell you that you need to add to it before you can finish it.

>turn chain
You turn the woven chain over in your hands, pondering how best to pull it into a circlet.

>pull chain
You consider the length of the woven chain and figure you need to weave a few more objects into it before you could pull it into a circlet.

Finishing Your Creation

Once you have weaved all the necessary items into your chain and are ready to finish your creation, you need to PULL CHAIN. It will ask you to confirm your choice, so you PULL CHAIN again.

>pull chain
[You are about to turn the woven chain into a loosely woven bracelet. If you are certain you wish to do this, just PULL the chain again in the next 30 seconds.]

>pull chain
You gather the ends of the chain and carefully weave them together to form a loosely woven bracelet of bright orange aspen and spear-shaped willow leaves.
Roundtime: 5 sec.
