Plaitime (pronounced Play-tem) was first encountered in Solhaven sometime in or around 5108. After a falling out with the local Rogue's Guild, he moved to Mist Harbor, taking his ward, Talleani (aka the Talon), with him. There, he opened and ran the Mist Harbor's Rogue' Guild for many years before finally returning to Solhaven. Plaitime is a lascivious flirter but sensitive about his own appearance. While he considers Talleani his ward, she is just as likely to tell him what to do. He has a habit of reading mail that does not belong to him.
In Charlatos 5123, political flyers were seen around Wehnimer's Landing, at least one of which referenced the Skinny Man, likely from him and distributed by Talleani.
Later that same month, he sent Talleani to gather locals from Solhaven's North Market to his home in Market Bend, where he shared some interesting news that he had learned. That tipped the locals off to a group of commoners that had recently departed Solhaven to travel to Ta'Illistim to express their anger about the death of Kasendra Malwind in Ta'Illistim two months earlier.
In Lumnea 2123, Plaitime's body was found in Solhaven Bay. Surprisingly, his ward Talleani was not terribly broken up about it. Indeed, she displayed deep anger bordering on rage at his betrayal and the fact that he was working with an anti-imperial faction of pirates. She claims he died from a needle in his vertebrae, but later said it was more a blade that bit to the vertebrae. She claims to have had not physical hand in his death or to know who did the work, though there is speculation that she did.
Appearance
- On 03/27/23, in his home in South Haven
You see Plaitime the Scoundrel. He appears to be a Half-Elf from Vornavis. He is average height. He appears to be middle-aged. He has hooded dark eyes and pale skin. He has balding, lank steel grey hair streaked with silver. He has a plump face, meaty jowls and a heavily rolled neck. He has broad shoulders and a bulky frame comprised of wasted muscle and large wrinkles of fat. He is in good shape. He is holding a slender black-lacquered cane in his right hand and a rusty twisted key in his left hand. He is wearing a very large silver-buttoned coat, a fitted white satin shirt, an extremely long and wide leather leather belt with a large silver buckle, a pair of fitted brown trousers, and a pair of polished black shoes with intricate silver-inlaid tips.
Plaitime's Home
Plaitime's home is located in Market Bend, a neighborhood in South Haven. It is accessed through an iron-reinforced door on a ramshackled grey slate house in one of the rooms near Casey's Club.

Knotty oak floorboards spread across the room to the surrounding walls of dark pine, which are sparsely decorated with ragged tapestries. Resting in the corner, between the iron-reinforced door and the narrow ebon-curtained window, is with a pair of patched leather armchairs set before it. Partially secluded from the rest of the room is a dirty pile of rags and a low oak table covered with a dingy cloth. You also see a dusty river reed basket filled with sticks. | |
Obvious exits: none |
Decorating the otherwise sparse walls are several tapestries that are faded with age. Sprawling battle scenes and blossom-swept glades are woven into the once fine silks, their former glory lost with continuous exposure to sunlight and the humid, salty sea air. > Fashioned of solid pine, the door is reinforced with long bands of polished iron and rugged steel fixtures. On the left of the door the hinges show signs of recent repair, while the upper center of the door is fitted with a small peep hole lined in brass. > You gaze through the ebon-curtained window and see... [Market Bend, Whiptail Alley - 22071] (u708414) The alley curves smoothly from southwest to southeast, the buildings curving with a grace that is otherwise absent in the narrow passage. Stones of many colors and sizes compose the structures, revealing a hasty construction that probably met some past need. Either flung wide open or snapped tightly shut, slatted shutters reflect the mixed mood of pedestrians progressing along the cobblestones. Obvious paths: southeast, southwest > Lumpy from overstuffing, the armchair is paired with its twin and turned to face the fireplace. Darker and lighter leather patches decorate the arms and back of the chair in places where it has been mended, and a strange oily substances glistens at the top of the rounded back. > Large and small rags, each dirty and tattered, are clustered together over a thin mattress in the corner of the room. Lumps that vaguely resemble pillows are set to one side of the filthy cluster and a strange, dingy scent rises from the entire mass. > Covered by a dingy cloth that reaches to the floor, the table is topped with half-forgotten foods and a bowl of fresh fruit.
