This copper-framed contraption is a device that lets you customize bottles of alcohol made with an Alcohol Still. |
To customize a bottle of alcohol, the contraption can either use the material from the existing bottle or you can provide a base material for it to work with; PUT in things like small weapons, wooden blocks, and other small fodder items to give it something to work with. It will ONLY work with metal, wood, or types of glass. |
The copper-framed contraption also needs lightning magic to make it work; PUT silver or iron wands inside, or cast lightning magic at it for it to absorb. |
TURN the copper-framed contraption to cycle through different versions of the bottle design, PUT a bottle of alcohol inside, INSPECT it to view all the current settings, and then PUSH it to apply the changes to the bottle. |
If you decide not to make a bottle with the provided material and want to start over, just CLEAN the copper-framed contraption. |
NOTE: Anything other than a bottle of alcohol you PUT into the copper-framed contraption will be permanently destroyed. You have been warned! |
==Alteration Guidelines== |
* Alterations to the 15/15/15 and/or long description of this copper-framed contraption are fine as long as the remainder of these guidelines are followed. Shows are not possible. |
* The copper-framed contraption must be made of some kind of metal. |
* The noun can change, but it must overall still look like a mechanical boxy object of some sort. |
* Any merchant, if comfortable, can alter the custom settings, if unlocked (Custom Bottle Designs/Custom Stoppers/Custom Labels/Custom Etchings), as long as the guidelines for these settings noted in the "Unlockable Features" section are followed. |
==Unlockable Features== |
* Dye Additive [Locked] |
With this feature, you can POUR cobbling or alchemy dyes into the copper-framed contraption to add colors to your designs. There are 2 dye reservoirs; one will color the material of the bottle, while the other will color the bottle's label. |
- ROLL the copper-framed contraption to change which reservoir the dye commands will work on (material or label). |
- TWIST the copper-framed contraption to allow dye to flow out of the focused reservoir. |
- TILT the copper-framed contraption to remove dye from the focused reservoir without using it. |
* Candy Bug Additive [Locked] |
With this feature, you can POKE the contraption with a candy version of a Bugs On Parade bug or equivalent sea creature in your hand and add the candy to the interior of the inserted bottle of alcohol. The candy will become alcoholic and absorb some of the alcohol flavor/effects. It will automatically pop out when the last sip of alcohol is removed from the bottle. |
* Gem Bug Stoppers [Locked] |
With this feature, you can DROP a gem version of Bugs On Parade bugs or equivalent sea creatures into the copper-framed contraption and turn them into stoppers. You can PLUCK the contraption to remove the special stopper without using it. |
* Custom Bottle Designs [Locked], Custom Stoppers [Locked], Custom Label Designs [Locked], and Custom Etchings [Locked] |
Unlocking these slots allow you to have further control over how your bottles look. Custom Bottle Designs |
let you dictate an exact template for a description with placeholders for you to optionally include the material, material color, label, label color, and/or stopper. Custom Stoppers allow you to choose custom closures for the bottles, while Custom Labels let you choose a label description and a sentence or two that describes it in the bottle's LOOK. Custom Etchings let you choose what appears when the bottle is READ. |
- Custom Bottle Designs must be feasible as a large container for alcohol and must work for any material that can be used in this contraption (wood, metal, glass, etc.) It MUST have a version of the design with material dye and without. A 15-character max article |
must be included separately. The adjective and noun of the bottle cannot change and will remain the alcohol adjective and alcohol noun. |
Example: Article: "a bottle of", Design (No Color): "(a/an) (material) bottle of (adjective) (alcohol noun) wrapped with (a/an) (label descriptor) (label color) label", Design (With Color): "(a/an) (material color) (material) bottle of (adjective) (alcohol noun) wrapped in (a/an) (label descriptor) (label color) label". |
- Custom Stoppers must make sense as something that would close a container of alcohol, such as a cork or a lid. It cannot be made of rare material and should make sense for all possible bottle types. |
- Custom Labels must contain a one or two word description (Examples: ivy-edged, gold-embossed). They must also have a 1-2 sentence description of how they look in a show description format. The show description can have placeholders for the bottle noun and the label color. |
Example: |
Descriptor: stained, Show Description: Barely clinging |
to the center of the (bottle noun) is a badly wrinkled label, its (label color) |
surface barely discernable underneath a variety of dark stains. |
- Custom Etchings are essentially inscriptions that appear when the bottle is READ. This is where the name of the alcohol or brewery goes, though a short sentence/slogan would work. Whatever would feasibly fit on a bottle's label. Placeholders for your name or pronouns can be included. Default language is Common, though each etching can have a set language. |
Example: |
"(character)'s Superb Spirits" |
==Usage/Verbs== |
* DROP/PUT (add material/wands), CLEAN (removes material without using it), TURN (changes various settings), PUSH (applies changes to inserted bottle), INSPECT (view current settings). |

Dingy and cramped, this building appears unkempt but serviceable. A long wooden bar runs along one scuffed wall, while a set of stained wooden shelves have been nailed above it. A swinging door leads to a backroom storage space. The musty smell in the air battles with the sharp smells of alcohol and malted grain. You also see a prominent wooden sign.

a prominent wooden sign In the Common language, it reads: These stills are precision pieces of equipment that let you brew or distill alcoholic beverages. They require charges from golden wands, or fire spells, to have enough power to work. Blank recipe books, as well as recipe cards to unlock recipes in them, can be found on the shelves. Each recipe has required ingredients that need to be added to the still, along with water and yeast, to be able to create the alcohol. You can add optional foraged ingredients, tea/coffee flavorings, food, and other items to infuse extra taste into the alcohol. Most all ingredients can be foraged; a selection of limited ingredients, as well as contraptions to let you further customize the bottles of alcohol, can be found through the swinging door. The voucher on the bar can be used to unlock the ability for the stills to imbue added effects to the created alcohol, such as sparkling, spicy, or sour tastes. The permit can be used to allow the stills to produce enough alcohol to refill empty kegs. The slip can be used to allow you to draw syringes of alcohol from the stills; using these, you are able to inject alcohol into certain chocolate confections. The fluorite is a magical object that can banish away your drunkenness if you spend too much time sampling your creations.
On the stained wooden shelves you see: a wide leather recipe book, a simple canvas-covered book, a worn leather tome with ale-stained pages, a dark leather folio stamped with the image of hop flowers, an alcohol recipe card, and a spigot of metal-framed fluorite.

Several crates, some open and some closed, are scattered across the scuffed floorboards of this tiny space. It is difficult to see clearly, as the only light source is a grimy lantern hanging from a bracket on one wall. The air is stuffy and mixed with the subtle sweetness of malt. You also see an open wooden crate, a wooden-sided storage chest and a prominent wooden sign.
Obvious exits: out |
a prominent wooden sign In the Common language, it reads: The yeast is a required ingredient for every recipe and can only ever be purchased. The box is a special device that lets you create malted versions of grains you forage so that you do not have to continually purchase pre-malted grains. The other items in the crate are basic ingredients to get you started with some recipes. The contraption in the chest is a special mechanism that lets you further customize bottles of alcohol made with the stills. You can feed it various metals, woods, or glass to change the material (or keep the same material the bottle was created with) and change the bottle's design off-the-shelf. Using the provided note will let you unlock custom Bottle Design slots that you can have adjusted at a merchant. You can unlock up to 10 of these extra slots. Using the provided paper will unlock custom Stopper slots that you can have adjusted at a merchant. Once you unlock the first custom slot, you also get access to the ability to use 5 default stopper designs. You can unlock a maximum of 10 of these slots. The provided parchment and scroll work exactly like the paper above, except they work for custom Labels and custom Etchings instead. The provided letter will unlock the ability to use cobbling or alchemy dye with the contraption so that the created bottles can have their material or labels dyed. The provided vellum will let you insert candy versions of Bugs On Parade/Life Aquatic creatures into the bottles of alcohol, while the provided document will let you use the gem versions of the same creatures as stoppers.
In the wooden crate you see: some malted barley, some malted wheat, a tall glass of spring water, a section of gooey honeycomb, a creamy caramel candy, a simple metal-framed box, and a canister of brewer's yeast.
