MOUNT
Type System
System Mount

MOUNT is a verb used in conjunction with the Mount System which encompasses scripted animals that characters can ride. Mounts are currently only available for sale from the Rumor Woods pay event.

Verb Info

Note: Both MOUNT HELP and VERB INFO MOUNT display the same information.

Usage:
    MOUNT {target}              - Mount messaging.
    MOUNT TRAVEL                - Travel abilities can be obtained at most town stables.
    MOUNT TRAVEL TOWN           - Allows the rider to travel to another town once every 24 hours.  This command must be used from within a town.
    MOUNT TRAVEL TOWN RETURN    - Allows the rider to travel to return to the town they traveled from within 24 hours.
    MOUNT TRAVEL HUNTING        - Allows the rider to travel to nearby hunting grounds based on the location used.  This command must be used from within a town.
    MOUNT TRAVEL RETURN         - Allows the rider to return to their source room from their hunting ground.  This command must be used from the arrival room of the hunting ground.


NOTE:  ONLY first person messaging is listed unless it differs substantially from other versions.  Wedding messaging will only work with your spouse, all other targets default to standard messaging.  Messaging without an option shown applies to all options.  Special scripts and areas may override listed messaging.}}

Horse Types

without saddle

>mount horse
You affix your reins to a tall red roan draft horse's bit, and with a firm push off the ground, you swing astride the horse and settle comfortably onto her bare back.

with saddle

You affix your reins to a tall red roan draft horse's bit, and with a firm push off the ground, you swing astride the horse and settle comfortably into a smooth ebony leather saddle.

Tortoise Types

without saddle

Extending his elephantine front leg, the green tortoise tilts his head, allowing you to slip some green hemp leads onto his neck.  Using his leg as a stepping stool, you climb up and settle onto the worn spot between his neck ridge and shell.

with saddle

At this time, saddles are not compatible with tortoise mounts.

Behind the Scenes

Prior to the Rumor Woods event of 2019, the MOUNT verb was non-functional.

But there is no horse here to mount.
