Biography
Kothos Blud is a priest of Ivas who had been cloistered in Her Temple in Vipershroud Swamp until the past few years. He is originally from Brisker's Cove in the county of Seareach. Rather than being the scion of an elf and human union, Kothos is descended from others of mixed heritage, and is unaware of the origins of his elven heritage. He was born out of wedlock to a servant of a large manor house north of the port town and was raised by his half-brother in the servants' quarters. Prior to his dismissal, Kothos had been assigned to the stable and gardening staff. He was forced to leave under strained circumstances in his young adulthood, and had a series of misadventures that eventually led him to Nydds, where he was found by the same half-brother. Soon after, Kothos was drawn to the Ivas salons and shrines in the city and took his vows as an acolyte. Approximately three decades ago, he was sent to serve in the Vipershroud, and has been a fixture in Her ranks ever since.
Kothos is of the priest rank within his Order, and is responsible for receiving pilgrims when they arrive in the Temple, as well as training and teaching new converts. He recently mentored Xanthium, a young dancer and performer who came under his wing in the summer of 5119, and who has now gone on to become a minister and is traveling the world on a mission. Through his close relationship with her, he was convinced to reemerge into the outer world, he has begun taking day trips to the Landing, and even further. While still feeling his way through these experiences, he has found himself more able to serve with the power he has gained, and to explore the mysteries of life with a passionate curiosity.
Kothos now maintains a second home in the freeport known as Solhaven, where he lives near his close friends, Magister Raelee Svala, Missoni and Perigourd Sabretache, his mentor in the The Order of the Silver Gryphon, Sir Guarrin Hjeldin the Knight-Errant, the healer Yukito Lennan, the sisters Jisandra and Delindra Talissen and many others. Three years ago, Kothos helped rescue a young girl by the name of Reynairra (Reynai) to her friends) from a disciple of Sheru in an attempt to use her and her terror into summoning the Nightmare Lord into the material plane. After Reynai recovered from her ordeal, she and Kothos had become so bonded to each other he asked her to stay as his adopted daughter, and the pair are a frequent sight along the canals and tea shops of Solhaven.
Appearance
- Lord Kothos Blud the Priest of Ivas. He is very tall and has a broad-shouldered slender frame. He appears to be in the spring of life. He has copper-ringed seaglass green eyes and sun-bronzed, coppery skin. He has long, voluminous raven black hair cascading into a lush tumult of violet-sheened curls. He has a graceful, oval-shaped face, an aquiline nose and a set of high cheekbones that are softened by the gentle contours of his jawline.

- He is wearing a simple copper medallion graced with milky jade orchid inlay, a wisp-shaped aventurine Ivas symbol suspended from a rose gold chain, an interlocking chain of bronze thorns strung upon ribbed smoke-grey silk ribbons, a jade green lushly embroidered cassock composed of copper-threaded spidersilk, an intertwining copper and gold wristcuff, a black enameled bracer with a silver gryphon set in a ruby circle, and some mesh sandals beaded with green velvet malachite stones.
Associations & Beliefs
Kothos is by nature a tolerant man, and makes it his practice to have all those who sojourn to Ivas' hall welcome and fulfilled, regardless of their gender, race, social status or religious leanings. His devotion to Ivas and his disciples is unwavering, and both bring him great joy. While not as accomplished a dancer as Xanthium, he incorporates movement and form into his religious rituals, and sometimes indulges in a little playacting with the other priests and acolytes as an enticement for the shyer Temple visitors to join them in a Dance for and in Her Grace.
Four years ago, Brother Blud requested the help of the chivalric Order of Silver Gryphons to help the Temple shelter and protect the pilgrims of the self-styled Blood God, Grishom Stone. Regardless of their beliefs, Kothos had witnessed some earlier arrivals to the pilgrimage be abused and killed, so he offered them sanctuary. Being impressed with the honorable and compassionate actions of the Order, he accepted an invitation from Sir Guarrin to attend their meetings, and was then invited to be Guarrin's squire. After completing an exceptionally long term as a squire, Kothos was tested and promoted to a full member of the Order on Fashanos the 2nd, 5125.
