Brisker's Cove is one of the two major cities in the County of Seareach in the Turamzzyrian Empire.

The city of Brisker's Cove started out as a small settlement on the cove of the same name. The city is bustling with trade, and the ports operate day and night. All varieties of ships arrive at Brisker's Cove, from small skiffs to warships. The people are generally well educated and well off, sometimes considered snobbish, even by empire standards.

Current History

One of the richest towns of Seareach, its wealth makes it a focal point for krolvin and other pirate attacks. Throughout the years, the town has gone through waves of construction, destruction, and reconstruction. Lately, it possesses a more subdued look to it, with remnants of previous attacks still visible. Beneath this, however, in small pockets and exclusive, hidden areas, the rich and elite still reign supreme, setting the fashions and trends for all of Seareach as well as other nearby coastal areas. Make no mistake, despite humble surroundings, Brisker's Cove contains vast wealth and influence.

Originally only a small port city, Brisker's Cove expanded as it gained popularity as part of imperial trade routes. As the city was built, expanded, and rebuilt, the various sections of the city were given large protective walls on their vulnerable sides. As a result, the different sections of the city became known as the Wards, with richer merchants moving to the newer buildings and areas as a sign of status. Those that remained within the older wards began to use colloquies to refer to the sections that they now felt they owned.

Examples of this include: Sticofen’s Ward, named after a wealthy family of iron, copper, and bronze merchants, was known as Iron Ward by the locals. Brisker's Naval Fleet, BNF for short, was burned to the ground, causing the military and their families to move to South Point Ward. Those who remained in the old ward began referring to it as Fisherman's Ward when the fishing industry started to settle there. Jiasamp Ward, named for a family of importers is now known as Comyner's Ward.

Currently, there are eight wards within the city with Garden Ward being the most lavish.

Comyner's Ward is accessible to non-Brisker's Cove citizens who dock at the port and contains a handful of shops.

Customs

The old fishermen of Brisker's Cove still follow the ancient custom of predicting the season's weather and harvest by setting three nets in the sea. The middle net is closely watched, and if crabs, lobster, or shellfish fill it, then a poor season with bad weather will follow. But if scaly fish enter the net, then a plentiful year with good weather is assured. All along the coast "windsellers" can be found, and from them can be purchased winds of many kinds. To bring the wind from any direction they have only to turn their hats and wish, and it is whispered that they trap foul winds inside eggshells stoppered with shoemaker's wax, to dash against a stone whenever they desire to call forth a storm.
