The vissi system is a progression system that can grant your character new combat powers, roleplay abilities, and cosmetics. It was introduced in June 2026 with The Inquisitor pay event, and vissi can be acquired via that event. At its core, the vissi system utilizes two different types of objects: arcarium and vissi.

Arcarium

Arcarium are powerful artifacts that can house vissi. Arcarium are worn in their own unique inventory slot, similar to a gilded locus. Arcarium come in two forms:

  • Aversaris arcarium house primal vissi that are generally offensive in nature, plus chimera vissi.
  • Vangaris arcarium house primal vissi that are generally supportive in nature, plus chimera vissi.

Both an aversaris arcarium and a vangaris arcarium can be worn at the same time. Only one of each type can be worn at a given time, however. A character cannot wear two aversaris arcarium, for example.

The purpose of an arcarium is to house one or more vissi. Each type of arcarium can house up to 5 different vissi each. A single arcarium can house at most 3 primal vissi.

Vissi can be freely inserted or removed from both types of arcarium while in Nyessem, the realm that hosts The Inquisitor event. Outside of the event in Elanthia, vissi can be inserted into an arcarium at any time, however they cannot be removed freely. A seperate item, a vissi extractor, is needed to remove a vissi from an arcarium when outside of Nyessem.

Vissi

Vissi are the individual items that possess an ability or suite of abilities, which can then be utilized when the vissi is inserted into an arcarium. Vissi's abilities can only be used once slotted into an arcarium. Like many other item scripts, vissi are broken down into multiple tiers, with higher tiers offering more powerful or varied benefits, depending on the vissi type.

Vissi are broadly categorized into two basic types:

  • Chimera vissi are roleplay or fluff focused, providing expanded roleplay options, features, and ambient messaging. Unlocking or tiering up chimera vissi typically will open up new functions beyond the base tier abilities. These new functions vary depending on the individual chimera vissi.
  • Primal vissi are mechanically focused, providing some sort of mechanical benefit whether in or out of combat. It behaves the same no matter the tier. Unlocking or tiering up a primal vissi will enhance its provided benefit, making it more effective or more powerful at higher tiers.
Ephemeral vissi are a unique type of primal vissi that are essentially crumbly. They have a limited number of uses and, once that limited is reached, they disappear. Unlike other types of vissi, they cannot be enhanced or tiered up. Ephemeral vissi are always singular vissi.

In addition to the two basic types of vissi, individual vissi may be considered singular or dualistic. This classification refers to whether or not the vissi provides differents form of its benefit depending on the type of arcarium used to house it (aversaris or vangaris). Singular vissi provide the exact same benefit no matter the type of arcarium that houses it. Dualistic vissi provide different (but complementary) benefits depending on the type of arcarium that houses it.

For example, the Soul Harvester vissi, a primal vissi, provides an offensive ability and autocasts Spirit Strike (117) when slotted in an aversaris arcarium, and it provides a defensive buff and autocasts Wall of Force (140) when slotted into a vangaris arcarium. Meanwhile, the Brambled Enigma vissi, a chimera vissi, provides slightly different cosmetic appearances, titles, and movement options depending on which type of arcarium is used to house it. Generally speaking, most (but not necessarily all) chimera vissi are singular vissi, offering a single benefit regardless of arcarium used, while most (but not necessarily all) primal vissi are dualistic vissi, offering two different benefits that vary depending on the arcarium used.

"Generally" is used several times in the above explanation because the vissi system is VERY flexible. Its design guidelines are in place to ensure a consistency to the system. That doesn't mean ALL primal vissi or chimera vissis in the future are bound to the existing examples.

Types of Vissi

Primal

Primal vissi are mechanical or combat oriented in nature.

Most primal vissi are dualistic vissi and provide two different yet complementary effects depending on whether they are slotted into an aversaris arcarium or a vangaris arcarium. Aversaris arcarium effects are generally offensive or active in nature, while vangaris arcarium effects are generally buffs or defensive in nature.

Some primal vissi are singular vissi and provide the same effect whether they are slotted into an aversaris arcarium or a vangaris arcarium.

Vissi Name Aversaris Effect Vangaris Effect
Aethereal Abstergent vissi Thrown Weapon + Status effect Full Recovery (HP, Mana, Stamina, Spirit)

Chimera

Chimera vissi are roleplay or fluff oriented in nature.

Some chimera vissi are singular vissi and provide the same effect whether they are slotted into an aversaris arcarium or a vangaris arcarium.

Other chimera vissi are dualistic vissi and offer different cosmetic customs based on which arcarium they are inserted into. When a copy is inserted in both aversaris and vangaris arcarium simultaneously, a third cosmetic becomes unlocked (provided both vissi have reached the necessary unlock tiers). Chimera vissi with this option are noted in the Combined Effect column.
