Manna (203) creates a lump of bread (some manna bread) that, when eaten, increases a character's mana and spirit regeneration rates, provided that they do not enter combat (attacking, casting a spell of war, or being attacked).

There are 5 bites per loaf, and each bite adds 5 minutes to the rejuvination effect.

The bread created by this spell will restore a number mana points every minute based on the bread maker's Major Spiritual spell ranks. The formula is 1 + 1 per seed 4 spell ranks. For example, it will provide +5 mana every minute once the caster knows up to spell 222, +8 mana at 249, +12 mana at 299, etc. Non-native casters will not be able to generate more than 1 mana per minute.

This spell will also restore 1 spirit point every 4 minutes. The mana regeneration benefit from manna bread stacks with that of Heroism (215). There is no health regeneration effect from manna bread.

Spiritual Lore, Blessings will add to the consumer's maximum mana at a rate of +5 per seed 10 summation. For example, at 46 lore ranks, it grants +20 maximum mana; at 145 lore ranks, +50 maximum mana. Benefits from other items, such as enhancives, will not push the maximum mana over the +50 cap. Spirit regeneration is not affected by Blessings Lore.

Manna bread spoils quickly. When fresh, it will have a wonderful aroma. When it has no odor, it will not benefit nor harm the eater. When it has a sour odor, it may poison the eater. SNIFFing or SMELLing the bread will display its status. Purify (1604) will restore the manna bread.

Bread Types

There are many different types of bread that can be created, dependent on the race of the break maker. Each race has a handful of unique options. Not only are the visual descriptions unique, but so is the flavor messaging. Half-Elves will be able to create bread types based upon their culture, or humans, if no culture is selected.

PREParing and CASTing the spell will randomly generate one of the available options. A specific type can be SUMMONed. For a list of available options and expected input, type SUMMON while the spell is prepared.

Every race can still make plain manna bread.

a braid of cracked wheat bread
Biting into the cracked wheat bread releases bits of honey and fresh grain tastes. It is comforting food, reminiscent of hearth and home.
Coarsely cracked bits of wheat combine with pockets of fresh-harvested honey to create a sturdy, but delicious bread.
a sugar-dusted travel biscuit
The biscuit is hard, but not unbearably so, and while dry, a rush of sweetness from the sugar-coated top makes it palatable.
The biscuit crumbles in your mouth with a rush of sugar to compensate for the slight dryness.
a filled piece of bread
A mix of healthy herbs and plants are at the center of this doughy bread with a browned outer crust. Natural goodness at its finest, and portable to boot!
You crunch through the outer crust and into the doughy interior and the herb-filled center. Bursts of fresh herbs, plants, and spices abound.
