Lanenreat Illistim
The eighteenth and last of the dynastic Argent Mirrors, Lanenreat "The Ignominious" was the only daughter of Tenesi Illistim. The youngest grandchild of Lilorandrych, Lanenreat resigned in disgrace. She had failed to contain the hordes of Despana, losing the support of her advisors and love of her people. She abdicated to a Council of Thrones, who would appoint a successor as she had no heir. Lanenreat has the unusual distinction of being the oldest Argent Mirror to sit on the throne, followed by her brother Nimyaion who also resigned in disgrace.
Lanenreat was born in -20,429 Modern Era (28,678 Illistim) during her mother's reign. She assumed the Peacock Throne in -16,120 Modern Era (32,987 Illistim) at the age of 4,309 upon the abdication of her brother Nimyaion Illistim, and resigned ignominiously in -15,185 Modern Era (33,922 Illistim) at the age of 5,244. She was the last direct descendant of Linsandrych to rule.
Faendryl critics have argued Lanenreat was "the first scapegoat", and that as Argent Mirror her failure was truly the failure of the Illistim people.

Behind The Scenes
Museum Portrait (Note: The museum curators portray her as youthful, when she was scandalously old at the time of her ascension.)
[Museum Alerreth, Portraiture]
The art hanging from the copper-veined marble walls is largely portraiture. Each piece is suspended on its own section of white space, leaving even the smallest with a clean border of surround. The greenish color of the patinated arch that leads in and out of the chamber is echoed in a single square tile set into the center of the wooden floor.

Part of a larger work, much of the original painting is lost. The stretched canvas was, at some point in the past, crudely refit into its present frame, leaving only the top half of the portrait intact. The subject is female, shown wearing a silver-on-heather brocade gown with a plunging neckline and lines of buttons down both the front and inner arms of the garment. Her blonde hair is worn atop her head in a pouf of curls and is studded with glimaerstones. A lace collar stands up behind her shoulders, rising from the back of the gown's neckline. Next to the canvas is a small plaque.

In the Common language, it reads:
This portrait shows the Argent Mirror Lanenreat. Famous for her refusal to accept Despana as a serious threat, Lanenreat is shown here earlier in her reign, before she lost the confidence of her Council and people. At the time of her ascension to the Peacock Throne Lanenreat was beloved for her youth and beauty, and was considered the most ideal specimen of elven womanhood. Her failure as Argent Mirror brought the end of the hereditary dynasty established by Linsandrych Illistim.
