Philestan, the officiant
Affiliation(s) Devotee of Koar

Description

You see Philestan the High Prelate of Koar.
He appears to be Human.
He is average height and of indeterminate age. He has sharply piercing storm grey eyes and weathered, time-creased skin. Close cropped salt and pepper hair and a neatly trimmed goatee complete his ageless appearance.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a pristine white tabard emblazoned with a golden crown over a quilted black gambeson and highly polished golden mail forged to resemble the scales of a drake. A simple silver ring set with an Eye-of-Koar emerald is his only embellishment.

Ceremony

Philestan strides purposefully towards you and BRIDE, her tabard rustling with her brisk pace. Taking her place, she gives an imperious nod indicating where the two of you should stand. An attendant hurries in and carefully places a white maple podium, and Philestan steps toward it.

Placing her hands on the podium, Philestan intones in a clear, strong voice, "We are all gathered here today, friends and family of GROOM and BRIDE, to bear witness to the commitment they wish to make before our Lord Koar." She continues, "Marriage is a sacred union between two souls, one that should not be entered into lightly. Our Lord Koar prizes loyalty and justice above all."

Turning to you, Philestan asks, "Do you, GROOM, take BRIDE to be your loyal and faithful companion in the eyes of Koar?"

Turning to BRIDE, Philestan asks, "Do you, BRIDE, take GROOM to be your loyal and faithful companion in the eyes of Koar?"

With a solemn nod, she continues, "Let us pray." Bowing her head, Philestan recites, "Our most gracious and ancient drake, these individuals come before you today to pledge their undying loyalty to one another. They request your blessing upon this union with the full knowledge that, as so you giveth, you taketh away, and disloyalty will be met with justice divine."

As Philestan raises her eyes, the ground beneath your feet shudders as a tremor rolls through the area.

Smiling, Philestan remarks, "Our Lord Koar has heard your supplication and granted his blessing upon this union. See to it that you do not fail him, for his justice is swift and righteous." Turning to the assembled guests, she raises her hands and gestures to you and BRIDE. "I now pronounce you married under the law and in the eyes of our Lord Koar."

With a nod of satisfaction, Philestan states, "I have other ceremonies to attend to. May your union be joyous and just." An attendant steps in and removes the podium as Philestan strides purposefully out.

Reject:

Philestan nods respectfully and says, "A wise decision. It is best not to go forward if you are uncertain and risk angering our Lord Koar." Turning to face the guests, Philestan states, "It seems there is some discussion as to the feasibility of this union. As such, it will not be proceeding today. Feel free to partake of the refreshments, and GROOM and BRIDE thank you all for attending." With that, she strides purposefully out. An attendant steps in and removes the podium, then follows in Philestan's wake.
