A tincture is typically a healing item. It is an herbal remedy contained in a small bottle.

Tinctures are sold in herb shops or can sometimes be found in the central gathering location for any town such as its primary node or permanent sanctuary. Those tinctures found on town benches are typically for use by anyone in need and have been made by characters who have trained in alchemy such as clerics, empaths, sorcerers, and wizards.

Given that scars are left behind when used on wounds, using a tincture is not always the best option. The healing provided by an empath is preferable mechanically. However, when an empath is not available, tinctures can be poured into a body so that upon resurrection the character does not die.
