The APPRAISE verb has many uses which may aid those who inhabit Elanthia. Appraising gems and skins may reveal their quality and/or value when held in the right hand. 25 ranks in Trading is required to receive detailed messaging. Rangers receive 1/4 their level in free Trading ranks when appraising skins.
Empaths may APPRAISE a player or APPRAISE GROUP, to see and better manage their wounds. Note: This aspect is not exclusive to empaths, as all characters can appraise all other characters to determine wound status. However, in the Wrayth frontend, they are able to utilize the window that pops up to click on the wounds and TRANSFER it onto themselves.
Clerics and Paladins, may APPRAISE a symbol to determine if it is a valid holy symbol. Additionally, they can APPRAISE other characters to determine the level of spirit, or in the case of corpses, level of preservation and if a chrism has already been used.
In town shops and at Merchant shops, APPRAISE will tell how much an item costs.
On creatures, APPRAISE will tell indicate the level of an opponent in relation to the character.
