A wand-holding runestaff is a scripted runestaff that can be affixed with a wand or other WAVE-able magic item so that WAVEing the runestaff activates the wand/item. The staff has an off-the-shelf version and can be unlocked twice additional zests.

The wand mechanisms can become worn or broken but can repaired using FIX. If the mechanism breaks completely, a steel spring will be required to fix it, so it is recommended to FIX the mechanism when it is worn, but not completely broken. ANALYZE will tell you the status of the unlocking and the condition of the springs in addition the the standard information. The staves premiered at Ebon Gate 2011.
