Summary

  • Amos greets everyone by thoughts as, meanwhile, a town clerk delivers word to Mayor Leafiara that Dakris has withdrawn from running for Steward of the Guilds. Over at the Sleeping Dragon Pub, the group convenes with Amos, who says the rain reminds him of home--Kragsfell, though it's not been home for a very long time. He doesn't miss it, but it's good to be reminded where we've come from, who we are, and what we've done.
  • As for the present, he says his ships should come within days; they were delayed by storms, but because of that he was able to coordinate an additional transport that he otherwise would have been waiting weeks for. Aside from the weapons he wanted, the rest is for sport. Some lords in Jantalar pride themselves on collecting creatures, and he's acquired two ogres to be released in the wild on a controlled hunt. He invites others to join since he can't hog all of the fun.
  • He says they were a better deal than a wild orc who fought ruthlessly--as several jump in to ask where and what he looked like. Red and trained, but he doesn't know where since one of his fireflies arranged the transport of the ogres. He asks if everyone is interested, and Captains Shinann and Stormyrain say yes and to provide any information to them or the mayor. He says he'll seek more information on it. Sir Cryheart asks if the Baroness approves of this sport business and Amos says he hasn't asked her and maybe he (Cryheart) should.
  • Meanwhile, Amos has the beginnings of information on the courtroom attack; his information points to a man named "the Knave." He doesn't know that he's the assassin, but is possibly related to other criminal activity beginning to infest the town. Cryheart asks if there's a name of the group; Amos says it's unclear. Loamian asks if Amos can tell us what makes him think the Knave is related to criminal activity; Amos says no. Mayor Leafiara asks what sort of avenues he explored to learn; he says he has resources and she won't get more than that. He's still inquiring about hand-pylon modifications and it's bad for business if there exist modifications without his control.
  • Shouts go up about fires in the Upper Trollfang and wagons attacked. Leafi leads out and groups assemble with water buckets and spells to put out some of the wagons, then move east to put out the rest--finding scattered siegery miniatures all over the ground.
  • A surviving mercenary stumbles out of the wagon, half of his face and one of his hands severely burnt. He says they didn't even them coming--two, maybe three on one side then another side, clicks and then fire from their hands. Taulramil bandages the man up as best he can. The man says he has a maiden town who'll see to the rest of his wounds and he'll speak with the constable tomorrow so Walward knows.

Highlights - Comedic

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Roelon says, "Pylons to the face and assassins everywhere. Another day in the Landin'."

Chatter in the Rain

[General] Elphieya thinks, "Looks like a storm is coming in the Landing."

[General] Leafiara surprisedly exclaims, "Again? How frequent these days!"

[General] Dwi thinks, "Stoopid wedder."

[General] Elphieya asks, "Didn't you see the clouds?"

[General] Dwi thinks, "Ye think it'd make up its mind."

[General] Loamian exclaims, "Oh don't pretend like you don't like it!"

[General] Leafiara cheekily thinks, "Wouldn't ever! I do like it."

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see a plump white cat, a silver coin, the sparkling Constellous disk, a pale-faced coppery barn owl, some haphip root, a chocolate-smeared blonde degu, some basal moss, some calamia fruit, some weathered indigo full leathers, a grey kilt, some ambrominas leaf, some manna bread, a jagged-eared lightning wyrdling, some House Sovyn dark ale, some manna bread, a greater bamboo lemur that is sitting, a fresh oatmeal doughnut, a large acorn, a dagger, a light crossbow, a rose-marrow potion, some acantha leaf, a dull gold coin, a large acorn, a large acorn, some acantha leaf, some pothinir grass, some aloeas stem, a mistwood serving cart with some stuff on it, the Targetina disk, an herbal remedy donation bin and some stone benches with some stuff on it.

Stormyrain says, "No matter. I know who you meant."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Constellous says, "So yer a captain ah hear."

Speaking lightly to Constellous, Stormyrain offers, "So they tell me."

Kobane quietly comments, "Skybooms."

Speaking curiously to Kobane, Leafiara asks, "Everything well with our icy neighbors?"

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Kobane says, "Well enough, fer now. Seems we have ah tablet of some sort t'find."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Kobane asks, "How goes yah search fer ah interim Marshall an' such?"

Speaking amiably to Kobane, Leafiara says, "To be completed by this very weekend. The town council has provided some... candidates I'm working through."

Speaking politely to Leafiara, Kobane says, "Ah hope th'person selected serves Wehnimer's Landin' well."

Leafiara suspiciously says, "I don't sense Pukk."

Leafiara recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart!"

Speaking deeply to Kobane, Roelon says, "Whomever, they hae much work to do."

Speaking to Leafiara, Uskeye says, "Don't say his name."

Constellous ponders, "Why do ah feel like someting interestin is gonna happen?"

Cryheart says, "Cause it is getting storm like."

Speaking sagely to Constellous, Leafiara says, "This is the Landinig. Things are always interesting."

The coppery barn owl moves closer to Cryheart.

(Cryheart moves over to guard Owly.)

Speaking to Roelon, Greganth says, "Lightning rod."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Kobane says, "An' so fast paced, compared tah th'North."

Greganth says, "Boom."

Speaking deeply to Leafiara, Roelon says, "Pylons to the face and assassins everywhere. Another day in the Landin'."

Speaking deeply to Greganth, Roelon says, "Ah been through worse."

A lithe blue-cloaked woman, walking in the middle of a small group of local merchants, laughs playfully at a part of their conversation as she pushes away some of the bright orange locks of hair coiling out from the depths of her hood.

Leafiara asks, "I suppose that's... Azyrial?"

Leafiara musingly says, "Guess it depends if they're named for clothing or hair color..."

Pukk just arrived.

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara accuses, "Late."

Pukk asks, "Late?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Uskeye says, "I told you."

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara exclaims, "But not too late!"

Speaking to Pukk, Leafiara insists, "Go for it."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart!"

Speaking to Chaoswynd, Pukk says, "You lied to me. You're not my dad. You're not handsome enough."

Speaking to Chaoswynd, Pukk says, "Trying to trick me."

Speaking to Chaoswynd, Pukk exclaims, "I'm onto you!"

Chandrellia softly asks, "Ok who do I join?"

Pukk gawks at Chandrellia.

Speaking softly to Pukk, Chandrellia exclaims, "Wha!"

Speaking helpfully to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Sir Cryheart as usual."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk exclaims, "Cryheart!"

Bbee yells, "Bluey come home, mama's mad at you!"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "Sir Molasses aka Slow Poke Shiny aka Cryblob aka Hey you."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "He also answers to Baby and Honey dumpling sugar pie."

Speaking to Cryheart, Taulramil says, "If you do not mind a legionnaire sir I'd like to patrol with you."

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Cryheart, who has been missing for the last few rain falls because he is slacking, but we will not hold it against him much."

Speaking teasingly to Cryheart, Leafiara says, "He's on to you."

Speaking to Erienne, Pukk says, "You're right."

Some burly dwarven town guards march through the area, their grizzly beards each braided with ivory beads and their alert gaze staring out from beneath bushy eyebrows. One of them taps the handle of his axe against his palm as they continue their patrol.

Cryheart asks, "What against me?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Globetrotting, too, I see."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "See, you are slacking so much you don't even know why you are slacking."

Xanthium says, "Something like that."

Speaking to a pale-faced coppery barn owl, Pukk says, "You should have a talk to him about his slacking off. Tell him to do it on his other time."

Cryheart says, "Even a knight needs to rest."

BOOM! A clap of thunder echoes in the distance.

Xanthium says, "Well."

Taulramil says, "Bring the worst."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk says, "Do your thing."

Roelon deeply says, "Well now...that was closer then ah woud like."

Leafiara recites:

"Remember, Sir Cryheart's armor attracts lightning, so stay close but not too close!"

Speaking tiredly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Wonder which faction it will be tonight."

Cryheart says, "We need to find out what we face and where first."

Speaking in Elven, Taulramil says something you don't understand.

Speaking unhelpfully to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Maybe it'll be yet another new one."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "I will bite you."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara exclaims, "Can't even keep track of 'em all!"

Speaking to Cryheart, Faerinn says, "I could use some of that for my chain too. Who knows how many times Thadston will headbutt me tonight." [armor support]

Speaking to Cryheart, Faerinn says, "Thank you."

Cryheart says, "Welcome."

Faerinn asks, "What we do think is coming tonight? Amos' boat?"

Speaking musingly to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Maybe--already a few days delayed by now."

Xanthium says, "Brother Blud had his neck broken in the bar fight."

Speaking to Leafiara, Ghianna asks, "Hi there....having fun or causing trouble?"

Leafiara says, "Not expecting any specific visitors, though."

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "More of that, maybe."

Speaking curiously to Ghianna, Leafiara asks, "Those are different things?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn asks, "Which part of that fight? Upstairs or downstairs?"

Cryheart says, "Could just be an late Summer storm."

Xanthium says, "He doesn't remember."

Speaking to Xanthium, Guarrin asks, "He did?"

A cloaked figure can be seen racing down a street with two town militiamen running quickly behind him! The militia shout as they pursue the figure and they all disappear out of sight and into the heart of the town. [OOC note: not bolded, so potentially just an ambient]

Speaking to Leafiara, Ghianna says, "For Mistress Lady Madame Mayor Leafiara....they should be."

[General] Stormyrain asks, "What is the commotion about, Militia?"

[General] Loamian thinks, "I thought I saw a hooded figure."

Leafiara asks, "Commotion?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain asks, "..did you not see the cloaked figure with the militia running after them?"

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Heading to the heart of town."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Leafiara says, "...I must not have, in the crowd."

Speaking to Bbee, Ghianna says, "I think Leafi's on the pill."

Leafiara says, "Ahh--well, if they're heading directly here then..."

Hapenlok says, "Well, then."

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain offers, "And this is why you're the Mayor and I'm a Captain of the Militia?"

Bbee says, "Yes, I know, I supply her."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "Hey kids! I'm back. (Again.)"

Speaking to Stormyrain, Leafiara says, "Yours is a lifetime appointment as far as I understand, and mine's only at most two years, so... there's great honor in it."

Stormyrain says, "Not taking away from the job of Mayor; we just notice different things."

Speaking to Leafiara, Ghianna says, "Ice Mule bandits, Ma'am....I shouldn't be long."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "Those of my dudes, and dudettes in the Pacific Northwest, hope you're all doing okay."

(OOC) Cryheart's player whispers to the group, "Still dirty, hazardous air."

[General] Faerinn asks, "Do you have boats arriving this evening?"

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "So, if I happen to die when you guys move off, it's probaby Draccor murdering me."

(OOC) Bernadette's player whispers to the group, "Still hazy in the valley."

Leafiara agreeably says, "Always."

[General] Dwi asks, "Good affernoon?"

[General] Morofinwe thinks, "Good eve."

[General] Stormyrain thinks, "Blessings of the Night."

[General] Amos thinks, "None this eve. A slight delay in schedule. Perhaps we shall discuss some matters shortly."

Xanthium says, "Glad I got something warming before I came over here to get soaked."

Xanthium says, "When I should be back in the swamp."

[General] Dwi thinks, "Technically it's always affer noon...cept when it aint."

[General] Leafiara affably asks, "Certainly. Where would you like such a meeting, if so?"

[General] Pukk asks, "Still haven't paid everybody off yet eh?"

Speaking appreciatively to Bbee, Guyamon exclaims, "Thanks!"

[General] Chandrellia thinks, "Oh I think something is going to get discussed shortly by the looks of this weather."

[General] Draccor thinks, "I still have time to Talk about Trade Amos."

[General] Faerinn asks, "Don't you think that is a conflict of interest, Cunstable?"

[General] Pietra asks, "Wait, there's money for offer?"

[General] Hapenlok thinks, "Hopefully you're a better trader than you are at killing people. Because that was a poor performance, Draccor."

Stormicore says, "I thought she said bugs."

A town clerk arrives and hands Leafiara a scroll. He darts off.

Leafiara surprisedly says, "Huh."

(OOC) Hapenlok's player whispers to the group, "Of course i'm asking for this one. hehe."

Leafiara slowly says, "I've just been informed Dakris has removed himself from town council consideration."

(OOC) Chandrellia's player whispers to the group, "Ofcourse...."

Speaking to Leafiara, Stormyrain asks, "Who does that leave?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin asks, "Leaving?"

Kiwoeachi says, "If only I knew a spell to change the weather."

[General] Draccor thinks, "I can kill whoever I want Hapenlok, don't flatter yourself."

Leafiara says, "Well, thankfully it leaves my primary pick, Walward."

Cryheart whispers something to Wolfloner.

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kiwoeachi says, "Though I will say, the ocean is quite beautiful in a thunder storm."

Stormyrain says, "Good choice."

Xorus dryly says, "Reminds me of when Cutlass removed himself for consideration for Steward of the Coffers."

Leafiara says, "As well as Amos and--you know, Stephos."

Speaking softly to Kiwoeachi, Chandrellia says, "Never been on the ocean in a storm."

Leafiara says, "Stephos, who had no chance."

Speaking to Leafiara, Goldstr says, "Him er Casi I woulds think."

[General] Hapenlok thinks, "Well, as far as assassinations go, Onar howled in rage at that failed attempt."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Kiwoeachi says, "I've watched the sea rage before, it was quite a sight."

Speaking to Goldstr, Leafiara says, "Ahh, for the marshal we still have all four candidates avaliable."

[General] Draccor asks, "And why do you think that was even an attempt?"

[General] Pukk thinks, "There's no drama like Landing drama."

Leafiara reminds, "And those marshal candidates are Amos, Casiphia, Khylon, and Cutlass."

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara exclaims, "Ah, captain!"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara asks, "I thought it only fair I ask, did you have a preference or suggestion on the new marshal?"

Bbee sings:

"Jus pollinatin!"

[General] Hapenlok thinks, "Point to you. It was such a bad failure, I guess we can't even consider it a try."

Cryheart whispers something to Umbazi.

Speaking heartily to Bbee, Dwi asks, "Der some sorta hubbub?"

[General] Draccor thinks, "If I want you dead you would be."

[General] Ghianna asks, "Like sands through an hourglass, these are the Nights of the Landing? Eh Pukk?"

[General] Amos thinks, "I shall be along to the Sleeping Dragon soon."

[General] Pukk thinks, "You have to hand it to halflings....because otherwise they couldn't reach it."

[General] Hapenlok thinks, "Yet, despite your worst efforts, I still breathe."

Speaking to Cryheart, Stormyrain asks, "Shall we go meet Amos?"

[General] Draccor thinks, "Good for you."

Speaking in Elven, Taulramil exclaims, "Amos!"

[General] Tialra asks, "Where's the Sleeping Dragon?"

Speaking to Bbee, Pukk says, "You always have the best pills Bbee."

Cryheart asks, "Ok..where is the Sleeping Dragon?"

Speaking to Cryheart, Stormyrain says, "Leafi knows the way."

Leafiara says, "And that."

Speaking in Elven, Taulramil says something you don't understand.

Shinann says, "Dragonsclaw Arms."

Hapenlok says, "Oh, by the way. Your message was recieved and a reply was sent."

Cryheart says, "Take us mayor."

Guarrin says, "East of phoenix."

Hapenlok says, "Oh, Faerinn walked away."

Leafiara recites:

"Moving!"

Cryheart says, "Never been to the Sleeping Dragon meself."

[travel]

[Sleeping Dragon Pub]

A huge, elaborate wooden carving of a peacefully sleeping dragon stretches on the shelf behind the long, brass-railed bar from one end to the other, dominating the room. The pub is all dark wood and polished brass fixtures, and the cozy booths are upholstered in well-worn red leather that must have once been luxurious. You also see an elderly bartender.

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "I'm glad to see someone else comes here."

Speaking to Amos, Faerinn says, "You have one less competitor for Steward of the Guilds."

Speaking amiably to Amos, Leafiara says, "Good eve once more."

Faerinn offers Amos a bottle of gilded cognac.

Amos sits down.

Amos slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking in Giantman to Amos, Guarrin says something you don't understand.

Speaking in Giantman, Amos says something you don't understand.

Leafiara speculates, "Perhaps Dakris realized what I thought--he does well as a buyer, but less so as a seller."

Speaking to Amos, Taulramil says, "Greetings Lord Amos."

Leafiara admits, "But one can only imagine."

'Amos says, "Some can do great at both."

Amos nods at Leafiara.

Leafiara nods at Amos.

Pukk says, "I don't know why but all of a sudden I want cookies."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia says, "Some... yes."

Amos slowly empties his lungs.

Speaking softly to Pukk, Missandai says, "I have muffins..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "I do try avoiding going out for furs for him like the blight."

Speaking to Pukk, Constellous says, "Shh... no talk of food, yer makin meh hungry."

Speaking to Pukk, Xanthium says, "They have really good crabcakes here. Not cookies, of course, but they're flakey and crispy."

Amos says, "The crisp rain smells quite refreshing."

Amos says, "Reminds me of home."

Speaking to Amos, Guarrin asks, "Where is home?"

Speaking curiously to Amos, Leafiara asks, "Ahh, that's right--where did you hail from again?"

Cryheart says, "Hmm...will hae to come here...I like crabcakes."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia says, "Yes, isntit? its what comes with the rain that isnt so crisp most times."

Speaking to Cryheart, Stormyrain says, "Eat one now."

Loamian offers Cryheart a crispy fried crabcake.

Stormyrain says, "Someone lend Sir Cryheart 135--or that."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium asks, "I'm sorry, you've probably said before, but where's home?"

Cryheart says, "I hae some."

Radeek mutters, "An' da knight now gots crabs....."

Taulramil asks, "We gambling?"

Amos says, "Kragsfell."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "I've been out east with all the digging. And more digging."

Amos says, "But that has not been home for..."

Amos says, "A very long time."

Speaking amusedly to Radeek, Stormyrain offers, "How the mighty have fallen?"

Speaking to Amos, Guarrin asks, "T'kirem?"

Hapenlok says, "Bourth."

Radeek says, "We all slums from time ta time."

Cryheart says, "Thank ye all..but Loamian gave me a crabcake."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "That's a long way."

Radeek mutters, "An' he even knows whar he gots em...not common I reckon, but good ta know."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara says, "Do you miss it, or prefer your current life? ...or both, perhaps."

Taulramil says, "Hmm."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara admits, "Maybe hard not to prefer a life with your fireflies."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "Even if it's been a while, places we grow up in grow into us, too. They go where we do."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "Sorry. I'm a bard, it's a thing we do."

Amos grins at Leafiara.

Leafiara winks at Amos.

Amos says, "I miss nothing of home."

Speaking to Amos, Hapenlok says, "So, Kragsfell eh? ...that must have been interesting. Considering ...certain historical aspects."

Speaking to an elderly bartender, Xanthium asks, "You're welcome. When do I get my cut?"

Hapenlok says, "And a reason why you don't miss it at all."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia asks, "So while we are on the discussion of home, what made you leave?"

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain inquires, "Except the way it smells after it rains?"

Amos grins at Stormyrain.

Amos says, "I said it reminds me. I never said I missed it."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia asks, "But what made you leave?"

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "Wow, just get nosy."

Amos says, "It is good to be reminded of where we've come from. It helps us appreciate where we are."

Amos says, "...and what we've done."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi says, "She's all our lil sissers rolled inna one."

Speaking to Amos, Guarrin asks, "How long since you've been home?"

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "That was either foreboding or foreshadowing."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium asks, "Maybe both, hm?"

Speaking softly to Pukk, Chandrellia says, "No, just curious, after all he is one that has been nominated for a seat on the council, and I would like to get to know my councilmen and women."

Amos says, "Enough of the past, tonight we should discuss the present, and the future."

Speaking curiously to Amos, Leafiara asks, "Incidentally, why the Landing as your latest home?"

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "Maybe just foreshortening."

Speaking heartily to Chandrellia, Dwi says, "Back home we took a differnt approach...we jus measured der necks."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Pukk says, "Being on the council only means one thing....how many silvers he has."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia says, "But the past leads to the present, and that's what we are curious about."

Sport Shipment

Amos says, "My ships should come within days. Storms had them delayed, but it worked out quite nicely. I was able to coordinate an additional transport that I would have been waiting several more weeks for."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia says, "Aahh most excellent."

Leafiara says, "Ah, so even more reason to organize a strong defense."

Faerinn asks, "Additional transport? Just how big or how many are these weapons?"

Faerinn asks, "In your personal collection?"

Dwi heartily asks, "Ships?"

Amos says, "I've some weapons I've acquired I wish protected, and...the additional transport is for more, shall we say, sport."

Amos nods at Faerinn.

Cryheart asks, "Sport?"

Chandrellia softly asks, "Sport?"

Dwi heartily says, "Hello kitty."

Speaking darkly to Amos, Wolfloner asks, "Still worried over your ships?"

Bernadette softly says, "Sport, eh."

Faerinn asks, "Lions, eh?"

Roelon deeply asks, "Living cargo?"

Faerinn grins at Amos.

Amos says, "There are circles of lords in Jantalar who pride themselves on collecting creatures of all sorts, for battles, for hunting, whatever it is these fancy lords wish to do."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "Fighting pits and trophies."

Amos says, "Something I know you are all familiar with."

Amos nods at Xanthium.

Radeek says, "Jants a'ways been cruel buggers."

Xanthium says, "I've heard of them in Brisker's Cove as well."

Chandrellia softly says, "Creatures, just like with the weapons you seem to avoid the direct approach makes one wonder."

Umbazi says, "Not really, no."

Thrassus says, "A fine sort of entertainment, yes."

Speaking approvingly to Amos, Leafiara says, "Definitely not wrong there."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi asks, "Took alla extry coin we Drakes had to gits da lil two master...anna dis feller's got more den one?"

Speaking to Amos, Taulramil says, "If you might deem it I can gather a few and we can escort your cargo. Safe delivery hundred percent that we might make it unscathed."

Speaking to Amos, Sareyna says, "Just atween us I heard Lea over there is quite a beast."

Faerinn says, "Jantalar."

Hapenlok says, "Just so long as there's no Grutik wildings in that cargo. We'll get along fine."

Sareyna points at Leafiara.

Leafiara asks, "Trade from here with Jantalar, then?"

Hapenlok says, "But, you know, people have long memories around here. Dealing with Jantalar...."

Amos says, "I've acquired two ogres. We'll release them in the wild, it will be controlled, I assure you. I welcome you all to join me in the hunt. The more the merrier. I cannot hog all of the fun."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Bbee asks, "I appologize for asking this, would you say that in a language I understand?"

Speaking to Amos, Thrassus says, "That might be entertaining."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara says, "Well, as long as they don't have leopard heads, that doesn't sound terribly dangerous. Many ogres do roam the area already."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia asks, "Two simple ogres? This is your sporting hunt?"

Guarrin whispers something to Cryheart.

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium asks, "Like the fellows who choke the trail between here and Vornavis?"

Leafiara offhandedly explains, "...bit of a long story, that."

Amos says, "They were a better deal than some wild orc, but he looked and fought ruthlessly, so perhaps next time."

Cryheart whispers something to Guarrin.

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain asks, "Orc?"

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara suggests, "Just, you know--keep it far from town."

Amos shrugs at Stormyrain.

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain asks, "What did he look like?"

Speaking to Amos, Radeek asks, "More 'portantly...whar'd ya see him?"

Speaking surreptitiously to Amos, Leafiara asks, "Ah, and whereabouts?"

Speaking to Dwi, Bbee asks, "Are you following this conversation?"

Amos says, "A brute of a thing. Red and fierce. No stranger to fighting. Trained well enough though."

Speaking to Leafiara, Radeek says, "Might be time ta gits our frien' back."

Stormyrain glances at Shinann.

Xanthium asks, "So you bought them, did you?"

[General] Dwi asks, "Why ye always kow towin to da rich ones? Kint ye see how warp'd dey is?"

Speaking to Radeek, Leafiara says, "Potentially, but--there would be some complications with that too..."

Xanthium asks, "From this place in Jantalar that sells them?"

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain asks, "Where was this?"

Bbee says, "Amazing."

Amos peers quizzically at Thrassus.

Speaking to Amos, Goldstr asks, "Dat orc speak any common?"

Amos says, "I do not know. One of my fireflies arranged the transport of the ogres."

Speaking to Leafiara, Radeek says, "Dis be da Landin...ders a'ways complications I reckon."

Shinann says, "The orc."

Speaking to Goldstr, Stormyrain says, "Our orc would not be able to now, either."

'Amos asks, "You are interested in this orc?"

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara says, "Ah, we'd welcome any further info in this regard if you can get it to us."

Shinann says, "Yes."

Faerinn asks, "So I'm guessing there's a central..menagerie...you're getting your shipsments from. In Jantalar? Or is it a personal zoo?"

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain says, "Yes."

Faerinn says, "Our orc ran away."

Amos grins at Faerinn.

Dwi heartily says, "Dis is gittin odd."

Speaking to Faerinn, Guarrin says, "Shipments from Jantalar by boat...talk about the long way around."

Speaking to himself, Hapenlok murmurs, "Not going to have this conversation right now."

Amos says, "Lords of Jantalar are capable of arranging business outside of their landlocked barony."

Amos nods at Guarrin.

Speaking to Hapenlok, Pukk says, "Of course you can."

Speaking heartily to Pukk, Dwi says, "Ye seen me do it."

Amos says, "I will seek more information on this red orc."

Amos nods.

Speaking pointedly to Pukk, Hapenlok says, "Of course I can. But I'm not going to...now, in front of HIM."

Faerinn says, "Yeah, I was about to say."

Cryheart asks, "Does the Baroness approve of this business?"

Amos says, "It seems he is important to some of you. Interesting."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "Yes. The Lords of Jantalar have a long history of making their business everyone else's."

Amos says, "I have not asked her."

Amos begins chuckling at Cryheart!

Amos says, "Perhaps you should."

Speaking to Xanthium, Faerinn says, "And in our ports no less."

Constellous says, "Wait a sec...a red orc... dat sounds familiar to me."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara says, "A potential lead at best, but one--possibly worth following."

Speaking heartily to Hapenlok, Dwi says, "I hardly e'er talk to meself in frent o' him..."

Speaking to Amos, Radeek says, "We coul' give a damn bouts dem Jant lords...kinda wants ta hunts dat orc on da win'er solstice...like ta keep him locked up til den."

Amos says, "Now there is another matter to discuss."

Dwi heartily says, "Specially since I aint seen him befer."

Speaking to Amos, Stormyrain says, "If you could get the information to myself, Shinann, or the Mayor that would be highly appreciated."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Bbee says, "Please don't start talking to yourself, I am already having trouble following this conversation."

Amos says, "I had not expected such a distraction with the orc, so my apologies."

Amos nods at Stormyrain.

Shinann says, "I am Shinann."

Stormyrain says, "We are a strange lot, here in the Landing."

Speaking amiably to Amos, Leafiara says, "Not a worry. We often have unexpected interests of many kinds."

Speaking to Dwi, Bbee says, "Well I am."

Stormyrain says, "Oh, yes. My apologies. I am Stormyrain, I'm not sure we've been properly introduced either."

Stormyrain places a hand over her heart.

Stormyrain bows to Amos.

The Knave

Amos says, "I have another morsel of information for you. It is only the beginnings, but as I declared, when I learn something, I will share something."

Speaking softly to Amos, Chandrellia says, "They are our Militia Captains and are very good at what they do."

Bbee offers Amos a faceted dark sapphire pill.

Amos declines Bbee's offer.

[General] Ghianna thinks, "Kuz dae gotz all da moolah ta make tings 'appenin'."

Speaking softly to Guarrin, Berkana says, "Must pet all the little kitties."

Faerinn asks, "Pylon related?"

Leafiara curiously says, "Ah, regarding the attack."

Amos nods at Faerinn.

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium asks, "Do you have some crabcakes, too?"

Speaking softly to Bbee, Dwi says, "I only foller'd ye here cause I heard der mite be a bar fite...I miss alla da real fun."

Speaking to Amos, Constellous asks, "Does dis red orc have a name?"

Xanthium asks, "Has crabcakes. Who knew?"

Loamian offers Xanthium a crispy fried crabcake.

Xanthium accepts Loamian's crispy fried crabcake.

Speaking to Loamian, Xanthium says, "Thank you."

Speaking quietly to Xanthium, Loamian says, "It's nothing."

Speaking to Amos, Bbee says, "A sample of my wares, I am Bee the town drug pusher."

Amos says, "My information points to a man who carries the name of 'the Knave.'"

Speaking musingly to Amos, Leafiara says, "Curious choice of nickname."

Speaking heartily to Bbee, Dwi says, "Bitamins...callem dat."

Speaking to Goblyn, Pukk asks, "Did you bring any pie for us?"

Bbee asks, "Bitamins?"

Speaking heartily to Goblyn, Dwi exclaims, "Pie lady!"

Cryheart asks, "So, what about this Knave?"

Radeek says, "Oh yippy skippy...we's dealin wit someone what takes his name from a deck a cards...may as well choose da name a Jester, er Clown."

Amos says, "I do not know that he is this assassin you seek, but it is possible he is related to some criminal activity that is beginning to infest this town."

Speaking heartily to Goblyn, Dwi asks, "I gots some new berries fer ye...leaf em at yer shop?"

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara admits, "Not much to go on, but far better than nothing at least."

Speaking to an elderly bartender, Hapenlok asks, "Those crabcakes look tempting....why not?"

Guarrin asks, "Ah is this supposed to be the one responsible for the attack in Moot hall?"

Xorus says, "That does sound like some knavery."

Cryheart asks, "Is there a name of the group behind this criminal activity?"

Faerinn asks, "Or was he the supplier?"

Leafiara speculates, "Perhaps that attack, or perhaps a ringleader of the latest faction of thugs--or even simply one of their higher-ranking officials."

Speaking to Xorus, Hapenlok says, "More like another weekend in Whenimer's Landing, to me. I'm not convinced."

Bbee says, "Hooligans."

Speaking to Cryheart, Faerinn says, "Maybe this one is cards themed."

Amos says, "Unclear Sir Cryheart."

Cryheart nods at Amos.

Speaking to Faerinn, Xanthium says, "You're looking at an ace."

Speaking to Leafiara, Taulramil says, "There is always another willing to take the title of boss."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "The Knave is a card in a deck of tarot.... also meaning messenger, an emissary or liaison between separate camps, charged with faithfully representing one side's communications to the other."

Speaking to herself, Berkana says, "I just love the smoky salt."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara says, "Thank you. Even with that little to go on, we'll proceed and look into it as best we can."

Speaking heartily to Chandrellia, Dwi asks, "I thought it was yer belly button?"

Speaking to Amos, Loamian asks, "Can you tell us what makes you think that this 'Knave' is related to criminal activity?"

Speaking to Bbee, Taulramil says, "She's as big as a twig need meat or sweets."

Amos says, "No."

Speaking to Cryheart, Goldstr says, "Seems we jess hearin non-information."

Speaking softly to Dwi, Chandrellia says, "No that the lint card."

Radeek says, "Treats da knave in dat speshul landin' way..find it....hunt it down...an' kill it."

Dwi heartily says, "Gutstorms always pullin stuff outta his knave."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara asks, "What sort of... avenues... did you explore to glean even this much?" [Merchant]-GSIV:Akken: "+43 available @ 200 per essence. 280 wiz bonus"

Speaking to Goblyn, Taulramil says, "Do you wish a muffin."

Amos says, "I have resources.'

Faerinn says, "Can a firefly tell us then? Since that's likely your source."

Roelon deeply says, "And many fireflies it seems..."

Amos says, "You won't get more than that."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok quips, "His spies are probably better than Stephos'."

Amos says, "I am still inquiring about hand-pylon modifications."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara asks, "Continuing to conduct your own investigation, then?"

Amos says, "It is bad for business if there exists some manner of modifications without my control."

Speaking to Amos, Leafiara agrees, "Very true. Not what you bargained for."

Taulramil says, "Hmm."

Cryheart asks, "So, you were behind the shop in Duskruin?"

Speaking to Amos, Radeek asks, "Huh?"

Chandrellia softly mutters, "Even worse if it's with your control."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "I don't like it when patrons try to take my creative control, either."

Speaking to Amos, Xanthium says, "I throw them to the vipers and panthers."

Leafiara explains, "Ah, yes, for those who didn't know--Amos has arranged to be the sole owner of the hand pylon market."

Speaking to Amos, Faerinn asks, "Really? Doesn't competition breed innovation?"

Speaking to Amos, Taulramil says, "If you wish your ships to arrive safe, perhaps a prayer to Charl."

Faerinn says, "Already some interesting modifications."

Speaking to Leafiara, Guarrin says, "Oh, well, I'm curious who he has sold to recently then."

Speaking to Leafiara, Radeek says, "Sellin ta both sides I reckon...only good bizness."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok asks, "Is that likely going to displease a certain Grand Magister?"

Arshwikk says, "Competition just breeds competition. Need breeds innovation."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Faerinn asks, "Which one? The one in the box?"

Speaking tentatively to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "...maybe? They aren't nearly as powerful as the large pylons, though."

Xayd says, "Maybe we should get some escourt ships."

Speaking to Faerinn, Hapenlok says, "Oh yeah, she's still in the box."

Amos twists his head slightly, cracking his neck. He looks relieved.

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Speaking of which, what ever did happen to Octaven? The local rumor mill has been working its magic."

Speaking to Faerinn, Hapenlok says, "I almost forgot about that."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "They seem to be getting there tho, the courtroom was eveident of that Mayor."

Speaking to Leafiara, Raelee asks, "Has it?"

Speaking somberly to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Yep."

Fire in the Upper Trollfang

There are some loud screams nearby and someone shouts, "Fires in the Upper Trollfang! Wagons attacked! Fires! Be on alert!"

Speaking to Raelee, Leafiara says, "Local headlines about her disappearance or some such. Likely nonsense like most of their--"

Taulramil exclaims, "Fire!"

Goldstr asks, "Huh?"

Xayd says, "Er."

Amos blinks.

Faerinn says, "The local rags said that Corduroy married the box."

Chandrellia softly says, "Ok time to go."

Speaking suddenly to Amos, Leafiara says, "Apologies, we have work to do."

Amos nods at Leafiara.

Dwi heartily says, "If it aint one thing..."

Amos says, "Understood."

Amos stands up.

[travel]

Taulramil says, "You should try a prayer."

Cryheart says, "Let's go check."

Xorus says, "The fire will go out on its own eventually."

[Upper Trollfang]

This is the western end of a badly overgrown and neglected road. Small piles of paving stones can be seen nearby, but the large amount of weeds that cover them indicate to you that they have not been moved in quite some time. You also see a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, some blackened smoldering corpses, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon and some full leather.

Leafiara says, "Well."

Cryheart says, "Go get buckets from Moot Hall."

The ghostly voice of Chandrellia softly says, "This is not normal fire."

From nearby, you hear Dwi yell, "I goin back fer buckets!"

Cryheart yells, "Get buckets from Moot hall!"

Leafiara recites:

"Water spells at the ready!"

Leafiara mutters, "Bigger fire than expected."

Taulramil says, "Fall and roll."

[fogging back to regroup]

[Wehnimer's, Land's End Rd.]

Vigilant night guardsmen scrutinize the citizens and travelers arriving and departing through the wide gates spanning the land route into Wehnimer's Landing. The cluttered streets of the city to the south are a far cry from the deceptively calm expanse of the wilds of Elanith outside. Two daunting towers survey the countryside and protect the town, flanking the road to the east and west. You also see an enormous leucistic jaguar, the Taulramil disk, the Arshwikk disk, the sparkling Constellous disk, an ember-eyed fire wyrdling, a brindled black-and-brown snowcat, a sturdy wooden table, a large wooden barrel and the town gates.

Also here: Miss Goblyn, Arshwikk, Xayd, Brandilor, Diamondelille, Wolfloner, Shinann, Dessedemona, Goldstr, Bernadette, Lord Lycurgus, Bbee, Master Taulramil who is lying down, the body of Hapenlok who is lying down, Pukk, High Lord Kobane, Roelon, Stormyrain, Uskeye who is lying down, a stunned Constellous, Lady Missandai

Speaking to Arshwikk, Goblyn asks, "Maybe you will scream louder, yes?"

The ghostly voice of Constellous exclaims, "Ah come on!"

Arshwikk says, "Ugh."

[General] Kiwoeachi asks, "You all killing each other out there?"

[Raging Thrak Inn, Barroom]

A long and polished wooden bar occupies the whole north wall of the tavern here in The Raging Thrak, which is named for the fiery proprietor. Hard wooden chairs, tables and benches are spaced liberally throughout the room. The tavern does good business, and seems to be at least half full, no matter what time of day. You also see an old wooden table with some stuff on it and a doorway.

Goblyn, Arshwikk, Brandilor, Diamondelille, Shinann, Dessedemona, Goldstr, Bernadette, Lycurgus, Bbee, Taulramil, Pukk, Kobane, Stormyrain, Uskeye and Missandai followed.

Pukk says, "So, that was a nice roast. We should do it again."

Leafiara says, "Buckets on the table."

Leafiara slowly says, "And... moving."

[Upper Trollfang]

This is the western end of a badly overgrown and neglected road. Small piles of paving stones can be seen nearby, but the large amount of weeds that cover them indicate to you that they have not been moved in quite some time. You also see an iron bucket, a dappled ocelot, an iron bucket, some studded leather, a spear, some studded leather, a spear, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, some blackened smoldering corpses, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon and some full leather.

[General] Kiwoeachi asks, "And what is burning?"

Lycurgus softly says, "Need healings."

Someone stumbles out of a wagon, fires engulfing their body and they open their mouth in a silent scream before they crumble to the ground.

Taulramil asks, "We just pour the bucket?"

Leafiara recites:

"Pour the buckets on the fires!"

[Realm] Hapenlok thinks, "I'll rejoin when I'm able. Apparently, I'm as combustible as I ever was. I still say someone pushed me into the fire, though."

Leafiara recites:

"More fires to the east when we're done here!"

Leafiara recites:

"Grab a bucket and we'll move in ten..."

Goldstr asks, "Whose wagons?"

Leafiara says, "Can't tell... they're too burned..."

Xanthium says, "...how far east does-"

Taulramil says, "Drop."

Taulramil says, "And roll."

Taulramil says, "Or water."

Xanthium exclaims, "Auh!"

Leafiara recites:

"Roll to put the fires out!"

Arshwikk says, "Uh oh."

Xanthium exclaims, "I can't!"

Flames grow from the east.

The ghostly voice of Missandai softly says, "Well. That was unexpected."

Xanthium asks, "How far east does it go?"

Leafiara says, "We're about to find out..."

Brandilor says, "That was painful."

[Upper Trollfang]

The road disappears for a time beneath islands of thick grasses only to reappear as you move on. Though the road appears to get little use, a path parallels the road and appears to be used quite frequently. You also see an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, a hill troll that is sleeping, a small white-bellied hawk that is flying around, a hill troll, an iron bucket, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a crackling fire, a pile of scattered siege miniatures, some blackened smoldering corpses, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon and a scorched covered wagon.

Leafiara yells, "Working on the fires over here!"

Taulramil says, "We need Tonis."

Leafiara says, "Well..."

Leafiara recites:

"Roll if you're on fire!"

Taulramil recites:

"Stop drop and roll"

The last of the flames begin to die down.

Taulramil says, "The fires are dying out."

Asben exclaims, "Thanks for rollin me!"

Leafiara says, "They are... slowly but surely..."

Pietra asks, "Joining Mayor, yes?"

Taulramil says, "If you're smoldering you're ok."

Speaking to Thrassus, Xanthium says, "I walked to the Temple and back."

Bbee says, "I have bbeen bbetter."

Xanthium says, "The fire doesn't reach past the crossroads."

Pukk says, "What can I say. I'm pretty hot tonight."

Guarrin asks, "All the fires out?"

Taulramil says, "Yes."

Taulramil says, "Saw them dying out."

(OOC) Leafiara's player whispers to the group, "Get miniature... heh."

Faerinn asks, "A sound like this?"

Faerinn presses a small rune on the back of his hand-held pylon, and a hardened metal band extends outward. He slips his arm through the band, which instantly clamps down on his forearm.

[General] The ghost of Loamian asks, "Are the fires out in Upper Trollfang?"

Speaking to a burnt human mercenary, Xanthium says, "Let me see your memory."

The mercenary rasps, "...didn't stop...didn't talk...just bloody fire everywhere and so fast...."

(OOC) Kobane's player whispers to the group, "Me too."

(OOC) Roelon's player whispers to the group, "Yep."

Taulramil says, "Miniature tourney."

Speaking to Thrassus, Xanthium says, "Very familiar."

Speaking to Stormyrain, Hapenlok says, "Exactly."

[General] Leafiara thinks, "Walward, are you about this evening? We've found some attacked wagons thhat we think might have been yours."

Faerinn says, "It's interesting another one of Amos' rivals was attacked by the weapon he has a monopoly on."

The mercenary bows to Taulramil.

Cryheart asks, "Anyone sing to the corpses west of here?"

Xanthium says, "Almost like he wanted us to see what it does."

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Well, this is the first of his rivals, in fairness. Dakris simply withdrew."

Xanthium says, "Again."

Speaking to Faerinn, Guarrin asks, "Bold move or too foolish to be him?"

Hapenlok says, "Well, I can say, that this wasn't any trained pyromancer that did this, that's for sure. ...too much wreckage left intact."

Speaking to Guarrin, Faerinn says, "Hard to say. There's a motive and no evidence if this Knave is even real."

Bbee says, "A fire response team, is that a team of giants that soak themselves in water and dive on fires? I don't think us hairy halflings a suited to the job."

Xanthium says, "I tried."

Conversation Afterward

Faerinn says, "Nothing."

Cryheart says, "Seems we have battling merchants."

Speaking to Thrassus, Xanthium says, "They're quiet, too."

Leafiara asks, "Loresinging turns up nothing in this area?"

Cryheart says, "Competition in this area."

Stormyrain says, "I do not sense any histories here, myself."

Cryheart asks, "Find anything out, Xanthium?"

Xanthium says, "Well."

Speaking calmly to Cryheart, Cruxophyte inquires, "What manner of competition?"

Leafiara says, "We'll check to the west as well..."

Cryheart says, "Business."

Xanthium says, "I did not. I tried both these and the bodies."

Leafiara says, "Ah, right. Knights lead, as Maags would say."

Cryheart says, "Corner the market of something."

Cryheart says, "Is my feeling."

Speaking to a pile of scattered siege miniatures, Xanthium says, "I've seen pictures of your kind."

Speaking to Cryheart, Leafiara suggests, "To the west to see if we can learn anything from the wreckage there?"

Cryheart says, "Moving."

[Upper Trollfang]

This is the western end of a badly overgrown and neglected road. Small piles of paving stones can be seen nearby, but the large amount of weeds that cover them indicate to you that they have not been moved in quite some time. You also see an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, an iron bucket, a spear, some blackened smoldering corpses, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon, a scorched covered wagon and some full leather.

Xanthium whispers something to Cryheart.

Stormyrain says, "I do not sense any histories here, either, as Xanthium stated."

Speaking to Cryheart, Xanthium says, "I tried. But there was nothing."

[General] Dwi exclaims, "Still tryin to find dem buckets..honest!"

Leafiara sighs, "Unfortunate, but... not surprising either."

Cryheart punches the covered wagon fiercely, then shakes his hand, wincing. Clever.

... 5 points of damage!

Cryheart says, "Hmm...wood is still hard."

Stormyrain murmurs, "Temper, temper."

Faerinn says, "Not just business competition. Competitor for council as well."

Caihtlybria softly says, "This wagon was on fire with magic."

Speaking to Cryheart, Pukk asks, "So, do you like beating wood all the time or just tonight?"

Xanthium says, "I caught on fire."

[General] Pietra thinks, "They're in Moot Hall, under the stairs or on a table, or behind the mayor's desk or something like that."

Leafiara says, "Hopefully this doesn't have Walward withdrawing too. The timing is sure--something."

Cryheart says, "When we hae intruders causing trouble."

Leafiara says, "I suppose whether one runs for the mayor's seat or a town council seat, they'll be targeted."

Loamian sarcastically says, "Surely this has nothing to do with all of us being engaged in a deep discussion with Amos."

Hapenlok whispers something to Leafiara.

Cryheart nods at Loamian.

Bernadette softly says, "Naww."

Cryheart says, "My concern."

Loamian says, "The ogre importer."

Speaking to Loamian, Xanthium asks, "You're clever, aren't you?"

Speaking to Loamian, Pukk says, "Surely."

[General] Leafiara assures, "The fires have been put out, regardless. Walward will be notified as well--these were his wagons."

Speaking curiously to Loamian, Goblyn asks, "Ogre importer?"

Hapenlok whispers something to Leafiara.

Cryheart says, "For sport."

Shinann asks, "Sounded like his pylons were used or did I misunderstand?"

Speaking to Goblyn, Faerinn says, "Amos' hobby."

Speaking to a lean blue-eyed brush foxhound, Pukk says, "I'm not food. I will give you a upset stomache."

Speaking wryly to Goblyn, Leafiara says, "Yep, ogre importer."

Speaking to Shinann, Guarrin says, "Sounded like pylons."

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara affirms, "Sounds exactly like them."

Cryheart says, "He has brought an orc as well."

Cryheart says, "For sport."

Goblyn asks, "What will he do with these ogres?"

Speaking to Shinann, Hapenlok says, "Appears so. No pyromancer did this, I can say that much."

Cryheart says, "For hunters."

Speaking to Cryheart, Goblyn clarifies, "What is the -type- of sport?"

Speaking to Goblyn, Thrassus says, "Hunt them."

Leafiara says, "That said, several standing here do own pylons themselves. They weren't exactly hard to purchase."

Xanthium says, "Burning half to death is tiring."

Speaking to Leafiara, Goldstr says, "I would nae be trustin dat Amos Madam mayor."

Cryheart says, "Hunting the orc or ogre."

Speaking to Goblyn, Faerinn says, "Blood kind."

Speaking to Goblyn, Loamian says, "I'm afraid he was as vague about that as everything else he said."

Speaking to Goblyn, Thrassus says, "Kill them creatively."

Speaking to Thrassus, Goblyn asks, "... they are already near for hunting, yes?"

Speaking to Goldstr, Leafiara says, "I'm with you. He's saying a lot of the right things, but the circumstances are too suspect."

Speaking to Shinann, Hapenlok says, "There's too much wreckage."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn asks, "Are they though?"

Speaking to Goblyn, Taulramil says, "Did you want that chocolate."

Goblyn asks, "Anyone does know if he does sell this parts of this ogres? Or it is... just this live ogres he is importing, and then he is done?"

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Not enough to issue an arrest warrant or any such thing, but..."

Speaking to Goblyn, Taulramil says, "It's tasty help you those arms."

Speaking suspiciously to Taulramil, Goblyn exclaims, "This does not look like it will be delicious!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn asks, "Motive and means isn't enough now?"

Taulramil says, "Ok."

Arshwikk says, "Not that catching on fire constitutes merry, but okay."

Speaking to Goblyn, Loamian says, "All he said was he had two apparently live ogres which he intended to release for the purpose of hunting them."

Speaking to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Not to my understanding of the law, anyway."

Loamian says, "It was noted at the time that we had plenty of ogres right here."

Arshwikk says, "His ogres must be extra tough."

Taulramil says, "Fresh."

Leafiara says, "I suppose we could--have a hearing? But there's no solid evidence."

Thrassus asks, "These could be more exotic versions of ogres, perhaps?"

Speaking helpfully to Taulramil, Goblyn offers, "Maybe in some time, I will show you the kinds of delicious things for eating that there are, yes?"

Speaking to Arshwikk, Loamian says, "Hopefully they aren't a mating pair."

Speaking to Arshwikk, Pietra says, "Make good shoe soles or somethin."

Speaking slowly to Taulramil, Goblyn says, "I will maybe make -this- one to be more delicious before I do eat it."

Leafiara mutters, "It's always a lack of evidence that does us in one way or another. Dennet, Vlashandra, Naimorai, over and over."

Leafiara says, "This is how the Rones happen."

Goldstr says, "Watch out he nae be sellin Dwarves er Gnomes next ta hunt."

Speaking to Taulramil, Pukk says, "You should try her shepherd's pie. Made with real shepherds."

Cryheart says, "To the highest bidder."

Speaking to Faerinn, Hapenlok says, "Oh, while you're here. I did recieve your message, and I did send a reply. But to be brief, you were correct on that point you made."

Shinann says, "Well, there was a survivor but I was busy trying to keep people alive and failed to ask his name."

Speaking to Faerinn, Hapenlok says, "I'll discuss it in more detail later, though." Merrymaker Gespry just arrived.

Shinann asks, "Did anyone think to ask?"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "He said he'll be reporting to the constabulary, in any case."

Speaking to Shinann, Pukk exclaims, "I never think!"

Speaking to Shinann, Thrassus says, "Just look for a mangled and burnt person."

Loamian says, "I, too, am off. Being burnt to death is exhausting."

Speaking to Leafiara, Faerinn says, "I think there is enough probably cause to petition Renpaw for a bench warrant for more information."

Loamian says, "I don't know how the rogues return to work afterwards."

Cryheart asks, "Head to Moot Hall, Mayor?"

Speaking curiously to Faerinn, Leafiara says, "Elaborate? A bench warrant entails..." [he answered by thoughts since Cryheart moved away: giving a statement under oath to Renpaw and answering questions]

Cryheart says, "Moving out."

[General] Chandrellia asks, "How are those fires going?"

Leafiara says, "Yes, seems nothing more to learn here for the evening."

[General] Loamian thinks, "They seem to have been taken care of completely."

[General] Hapenlok thinks, "They're out. Just a smouldering pile of debris and corpses."

[Town Square, East]

Here in the center of a broad plaza near the commercial area of the bazaar stands the impressive facade of the slate-roofed Moot Hall, where the citizens of Wehnimer's Landing hold various official, religious and social functions. Facing the square are some of the town's more prosperous shops, still doing business with the many customers who still frequent the streets at night. You also see a dark-haired half-elven priestess and a large purple wooden barrel.

Also here: Conquerer of Reim Sareyna, Draught, Miss Goblyn, Hapenlok, Goldstr, Shinann, Pietra, Guarrin, Lord Thrassus, Roelon, Sacru, Arshwikk, Brandilor, Lord Lycurgus, Bbee, Pukk, Bernadette, Marijka, Lord Asben, Wolfloner, Sir Cryheart

[General] Leafiara thinks, "One survivor, at least. ...better than usual, admittedly."

Leafiara suspiciously says, "...it's almost as if Amos led us away to his pub on purpose. A distraction."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Wouldn't surprise me."

Guarrin says, "Convenient timing."

Cryheart says, "Aye."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "I was going to mention how convienent it was."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "And normally I'd agree, and I still somewhat do."

Leafiara says, "There's such a lot of convenience these days..."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "But around here, the most obvious solution isn't, usually."

Cryheart says, "Competitors out to get rid of each other is my suspicion."

Speaking to Leafiara, Shinann says, "We do not know much about him... and for someone that wants to lead the militia, I did not see him fighting."

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "Well, there was no fighting, to be fair--but this is growing ever more unusual."

Shinann says, "Helping."

Speaking to Cryheart, Goldstr says, "I tinkin a bit mer den dat but donna knows wha."

Shinann says, "We did not know when we heard the screams what was happening."

Cryheart asks, "What could be better than for a trader than to become part of the militia so he knows how to sneak in goods?"

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, "Any idea what was in the wagons that burned?"

Shinann says, "If we heard them... so did he."

Speaking to Cryheart, Leafiara says, "Yep, that was Kethrain's point too."

Bbee asks, "Oh just what I always wanted, a miniature Helga! Wonder if the guard would buy it at a premium?"

Leafiara says, "And why I won't consider him for the marshal position."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Honestly, at this point in time, I'd say one of us would probably be better on that thrice damned council than any of those people."

Thrassus says, "These seige miniatures."

Guarrin says, "I trust those ships will be well inspected."

A young girl rushes by some traveling merchants in the street, navigating through them before slipping off to the edge of a dark alley where she hands what looks like a rolled-up scroll to someone in the shadows. A moment later they part ways, the dark figure stepping back out of sight, and the girl disappearing into a crowd of townspeople. [OOC: ambient message]

Pukk says, "Okay all I need to head out to a lighthouse for a bit."

Leafiara says, "I believe tonight writes him off firmly for the Guilds position as well--though anyway I was leaning toward Walward."

Speaking softly to Thrassus, Chandrellia says, "I would have been there but I was needed at TSC."

Speaking darkly to Leafiara, Wolfloner says, "That is an idea. Perhaps we should build a lighthouse."

Speaking musingly to Wolfloner, Leafiara says, "Hm, not a bad idea at all."

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara asks, "Oh, captain, I can't recall if I asked earlier--did you have any suggestions or preferences regarding the new marshal?"

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "I think it's only fair to ask."

Hapenlok says, "I'm hungry."

Speaking to Leafiara, Shinann says, "I would rather discuss that in private."

Draught says, "Ahh."

Speaking to Shinann, Leafiara says, "Fair enough. We only have one or two days for it, though."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok whispers aloud, "I'll give you a hint, it's not me."

Speaking amusedly to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "Yeah, we know."

Hapenlok says, "Even if I didn't have the history I had, I wouldn't take on such a job."

Wolfloner darkly says, "The fortuneteller would make a good tempory Marshall."

Speaking to Marijka, Leafiara says, "And what do you think of tonight? You usually have nice insights on these sorts of things."

Speaking in Elven to Leafiara, Marijka admits something you don't understand.

Leafiara says, "Ah."

Speaking in Elven to Leafiara, Marijka confesses something you don't understand.

Leafiara says, "In all fairness, this could be someone attempting to frame Amos, but--that's a bit of a wild theory with no clear suspects or motives at all."

Speaking darkly to Bernadette, Wolfloner asks, "What say you. Have a turn as the Marshall?"

Sareyna says, "Bah I didn't grab a mini I was too busy burnin."

Bernadette softly says, "Naww Id rather cut down trees."

Leafiara says, "Stormyrain's mentioning Stephos earlier is pretty much the only reasonable option for someone trying to frame Amos."

Speaking Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "You DO realize, that's one more thing we've got to worry about, though if Octaven ever wakes up."

Speaking to Sareyna, Leafiara asks, "Maybe they're still out there?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "The war on the handheld pylons."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "Well... yeah, potentially."

Speaking darkly to Hapenlok, Wolfloner asks, "You saying we should not let Octaven wake up?"

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "The local rumor newspaper has it that her coffin was taken from the outpost with her in it, but since they always make things up I'm not sure whether to believe it."

Speaking sarcastically to Wolfloner, Hapenlok says, "Probably won't be our choice, in the end."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "Sadly, couldn't get an answer from Raelee on that while in the middle of wagon fires..."

Speaking to Wolfloner, Hapenlok says, "Sorry, came off a bit condescending there."

Speaking darkly to Goblyn, Wolfloner asks, "You can make a potion that would make Octaven stay in Lullabye land?"

Hapenlok says, "Ah, you know what? I'm actually at the point where I really don't care either way."

Leafiara indifferently says, "I don't particularly care about Octaven either."

Speaking curiously to Hapenlok, Goblyn asks, "This is possible?"

Hapenlok says, "I mean, Grishom's ultimate plan might actually have to take precedence at some point."

Speaking darkly to Hapenlok, Wolfloner says, "I agree. Let's get behind Stone's plan."

Cruxophyte dryly remarks, "Please, do tell of us of Grishom's ultimate plan."

Speaking darkly to Hapenlok, Wolfloner asks, "What is his plan?"

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara asks, "Meaning... what? You think we'll end up allying with the Hall against him?"

Sareyna says, "No one knows Grishom's plan."

Hapenlok asks, "We know what his goal is. Do we not?"

Wolfloner quietly says, "Power."

Sareyna says, "Tis folly to assume one does."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Power."

Leafiara admits, "I'm not clear at all what his goal is, other than surpassing the Arkati."

Speaking nonchalantly to Leafiara, Cruxophyte remarks, "That seems to be about it."

Wolfloner quietly says, "Doubt anyone knows what his end game is."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Ahh, good to see you made it through."

Sareyna says, "He knows and gee who doesn't love a surprise."

Chandrellia softly says, "Well, after I was burnt to a crispy fried rolton."

Hapenlok says, "I'm fairly sure that that first bunch of devotees that are presently, most likely being coocooned ...or some awful thing similar."

Hapenlok says, "Are the start of the end game, somehow."

Speaking to Hapenlok, Leafiara says, "Yeah, probably."

Wolfloner darkly asks, "Would you consider being the temporary Marshall for the town?"

Speaking to Wolfloner, Hapenlok asks, "Me?"

Wolfloner darkly says, "Was talking to the fortuneteller."

Wolfloner darkly says, "She must have seen the question coming."

Leafiara assures, "Trust me, the council won't let me have anyone other than the named candidates."

Bbee exclaims, "Ask helga to do it!"

Leafiara says, "Otherwise I'd just appoint Stormyrain. ...and then she'd resign from it immediately."

Hapenlok says, "Well, anyway."

Hapenlok says, "Back to me pontificating."

Leafiara says, "I will say this---if Amos is really behind this, then not appointing him could make things ugly."

Goblyn cheerfully exclaims, "Everyone will have a nice night!"

Leafiara says, "But this is the Landing and we don't fear such things."

Hapenlok says, "We know what he wants, we don't know exactly how he's going to get it."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "But appointing could make it ugly too."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara muses, "Also very true."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Well, I leave those questions to you."

Leafiara says, "My council picks haven't actually changed, at least not as of yet."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "As long as it's anyone but Stephos, you'll probably not get much complaint from me."

Leafiara says, "Amos wasn't a leadinng candidate either way."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Those hand pylons would be pretty ....*ahem* handy for the militia, though. it's gotta be said."

Leafiara admits, "...though I did have him as a runner up for the Guilds position, so this is a shame."

Siggurd says, "If you're not leading, kill the competition."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Make the flower girl do it."

Hapenlok says, "Pun somewhat not intended."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Will drive the runner crazy."

Speaking amusedly to Wolfloner, Leafiara says, "Ha, so true."

Hapenlok says, "But honestly, I kinda get reminded of how Grishom arrived here, when I look at him."

Bbee says, "Lead from the rear! That's my motto."

Hapenlok says, "And you know, he's a giantman."

Hapenlok adds, "From Highmount."

Chandrellia softly says, "So why attack a wagon full of miniatures though, why set the whole forest ablaze? What was the reason for the distraction."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Perhaps an intimidation tactic."

Leafiara says, "Actually, I should ask Dakris why he withdrew."

Leafiara says, "That too could have been intimidation..."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, "If it was for intimidation don't you think something more intimidating would have been atatcked?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok repeats, "A Giantkin from Highmount."

Speaking uncertainly to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Not entirely sure what you're implying."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Well think about it."

Wolfloner darkly says, "If it were a distraction perhaps you should investigate what happened while you were fighting the fire."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Bbee asks, "Was the wagon inbound or out bound?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "We don't need to potentially be involved in some revenge thing against the empire again."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "If you want to get noticed for intimidation then hit a big target."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Did any ships come into port."

Speaking softly to Wolfloner, Chandrellia says, "No."

Wolfloner darkly says, "Some smuggling."

Leafiara says, "Thinking this over for a moment..."

Speaking darkly to Chandrellia, Wolfloner asks, "You already checked?"

Leafiara says, "The wagon burning was similar to the attack on the caravan last month."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "I never spent much time in that province, but I'd wager Giantkin are about as popular there as elves are in Tamzyrr."

Speaking softly to Wolfloner, Chandrellia says, "Amos said they won't be here for a bit due to the weather."

Leafiara says, "If we assume for the sake of the argument that it's all the same group..."

Speaking darkly to Chandrellia, Wolfloner says, "Perhaps he lied."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Considering the war they fought to move the giantkin out of there."

Speaking softly to Wolfloner, Chandrellia says, "Perhaps."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Oh those many years ago."

Speaking softly to Wolfloner, Chandrellia says, "I am in no position to check and ask questions at the docks, I would be laughed at."

Leafiara asks, "If they were all the same group, then their goals are... eliminate the Blood Son, the Rooks, and--merchants?"

Leafiara tentatively says, "Hm."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Anyway, it's your choice, in the end."

Leafiara says, "Just trying to create a theory that makes sense."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "Me? i'm keeping one eye on the Deadfall."

Leafiara says, "And would fit with everything we've seen."

Leafiara says, "If this was Amos, but the caravan was *also* Amos..."

Speaking curiously to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, "Has Amos ever been present when Rone has been around?"

Leafiara says, "And the attacks on the Rooks were *also* Amos... I'm not sure I can make sense of that."

Hapenlok says, "Anyway, I'm going to go have a lay down."

Leafiara says, "Even though it's possible anyway."

Speaking to Leafiara, Hapenlok says, "I'll talk to you a bit about what I'm thinking later."

Speaking uncertainly to Chandrellia, Leafiara asks, "No, why?"

Hapenlok says, "Especially as it pertains to Octaven."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "I was discussing Rone with a friend today and she thought I'm slightly off about her and Mother being the same person--instead my friend thought maybe they're related."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Well, he has silver we know this, he the ability to arm himself with some shall we say pretty impressive weapons."

Chandrellia softly says, "He hasn't lifted a finger to assist the town publicly."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Oh, well.... that much is true, but Rone isn't big enough to be Amos."

Chandrellia softly says, "Oh."

Chandrellia softly says, "Just trying to sort things."

Leafiara says, "Hiring Rone, on the other hand..."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia says, "Think hard on that Mayor, you would be condoning the one thing thing he told you to denounce."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara asks, "Wait, what?"

Leafiara suddenly says, "Oh, no, you misunderstand me, I think..."

Chandrellia softly asks, "If we hired him what position would he or she play?"

Chandrellia softly says, "Oh."

Leafiara says, "I mean hiring Rone would be within Amos' means."

Chandrellia softly exclaims, "Oh!"

Speaking softly to herself, Chandrellia says, "Good job nimwit."

Bbee asks, "Rone?"

Leafiara says, "I do find it curious, Rone's never spoken with the public until I finally reached out..."

Speaking to Bbee, Leafiara says, "That's the white-cloaked one with the magic gauntlets."

Bbee says, "I see."

Speaking softly to Leafiara, Chandrellia asks, "What is our standing on town watch if these brawls keep breaking out any ideas?"

Bbee says, "I thought you meant that ancient fellow the town is named after."

Speaking to Bbee, Leafiara says, "Yeah, the Rone vigilantes named themselves after our town founder."

Leafiara says, "For... whatever reason."

Bbee says, "I see."

Leafiara corrects, "Actually, that's not quite correct. At first the first Rone went without a name."

Leafiara says, "But people started gossiping and called him the spirit of Rone."

Leafiara says, "Then he just.... took up that mantle and ran with it."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara says, "Anyway, don't worry. If anything I need to denounce Rone."

Speaking in Elven, Marijka says something you don't understand.

Speaking embarrassedly to Leafiara, Chandrellia mutters, "Sorry, you have enough on your plate without the worry of that."

Leafiara says, "To extend an honest offer of partnership and be met with a threat..."

Chandrellia curiously asks, "Why hasn't the storm let up?"

Leafiara says, "I had hopes for this Rone, but apparently all for naught."

Bbee says, "I was wondering the same thing."

Chandrellia sadly says, "I wish it were different."

Speaking to Chandrellia, Leafiara acknowledges, "I still want to talk with Mother one more time, thanks to your theory."

Leafiara says, "But if I don't get some seriously correct answers..."

Leafiara says, "I'll be denouncing Rone and the Rooks in one fell swoop."

Leafiara muses, "And maybe Thadston too while I'm at it."

Chandrellia softly says, "I'm not strong in the field, and sometimes I chew on my own feet, alot, but I do try to sit back and watch and learn and listen."

Leafiara says, "Thadston and all his talk, saying he's considering becoming a vigilante himself... except he already is, basically."

Leafiara says, "Threatened to rally the militia and bypass his marshal replacement to go attack the tunnels."

Leafiara says, "Kinda hard to write a letter denouncing Rone *without* including Thadston in that."
