The Night in a Nutshell

[General] Cordarius thinks, "Well, evening all."
[General] Cordarius thinks, "I'm at Wayside."
Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "Evening, I hope things have been going well since we last met."
Leafiara muses, "I suppose some are still exhausted since the last time."
Cordarius says, "Yes, and no, I'm uncertain."
Cordarius nods at Leafiara.
Cordarius says, "Very exhausted. But we've more work to do, very soon."
Speaking tentatively to Cordarius, Leafiara asks, "So, er... I'm going to guess that your falcon amulet can't find Octaven unless she wants to be found?"
Cordarius says, "It serves as a communication device, at times. It hasn't in awhile."
Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr asks, "Oh? Have you found out something about our missing statue? Or perhaps from our captive?"
Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "... Cordarius."
Cordarius says, "I did not expect Octaven, no."
Cordarius says, "Raelee."
Cordarius grins at Raelee.
Cordarius shakes his head.
Cordarius sighs.
Speaking to Cordarius, Goldstr says, "Evenin sir."
Cordarius bows to Goldstr.
Cordarius says, "Thadston's going to need our help still."
Cordarius says, "The spirit's gone, Casiphia confirmed."
Cordarius says, "No azure light, no voices, his eyes look normal again."
Cordarius says, "But his mind isn't fully right yet."
Speaking to Cordarius, Leafiara relents, "Ah, understandable."
Leafiara suddenly says, "Wait. Please tell me you're not about to ask for some kind of mentalist delving."
Cordarius says, "I don't know exactly."
Leafiara sighs, "Right then, assume the worst."
Speaking curiously to Cordarius, Leafiara asks, "Could you, er... elaborate on any plans you might be considering?"
Cordarius shrugs.
Leafiara says, "We did help Pylasar and Thrayzar to sort out some mind issues via mentalism or even the Reach, but..."
Cordarius says, "My thoughts went to followers of Imaera."
Cordarius says, "She's been known to shape flesh, bones, and plants."
Cordarius says, "Granted, not the mind...but, I'm afraid when it comes to Arkati and mentalist issues..."
Cordarius shrugs.
Cordarius says, "Others are better suited than myself."
Cordarius says, "I worry about the kroderine in his flesh."
Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee asks, "... why do you lean towards the Arkati in this?"
Cordarius says, "I lean towards anything Magister."
Vaemyr says, "I kinda think he might just need a bit of reality and get back in the swing of things, throw the guy into combat or something, let the adrenaline and instincts take over."
Cordarius says, "Give me a herb and oil for all I care."
Cordarius chuckles.
Cordarius says, "Arkati are an angle, not always an answer."
Dwi offers Cordarius a large skin of tempering oil.
Cordarius declines Dwi's offer.
Cordarius begins chuckling at Dwi!
Cordarius says, "I haven't seen him yet. But Casiphia says he sleeps a lot, mumbles, has scratched at his arms fiercely. Has moments where he does not recall where or who he is at times."
Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "All of that kinda sounds normal though, considering the situation."
Cordarius nods at Vaemyr.
Leafiara says, "To be fair, though... Gabriela had been sort of sustaining him, right? And now he's without."
Cordarius nods at Leafiara.
Cordarius says, "We're not even sure what the Bleaklands did to him before...her."
Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "He was in our care for some time after his immediate retrieval. All of the notes from that time should be reviewed."
Cordarius says, "I have had a small, small communication with Octaven."
Cordarius nods at Raelee.
Speaking carefully to Cordarius, Raelee asks, "... you have?"
Cordarius says, "Briefly. She'll be seeking you out in the future."
Cordarius nods at Raelee.
Speaking bluntly to Cordarius, Raelee says, "Good."
Cordarius says, "All of us really. I believe she intends a more present role within the Outpost."
Cordarius says, "Likely due to how I suspect she was freed."
Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee asks, "... does the Archmagister? The Earl? Anyone have thoughts on this?"
Cordarius says, "I've sent word to the Earl late last night. I'll leave Naylor up to you."
Cordarius nods at Raelee.
Cordarius says, "We're in a...unique situation."
Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "... fine."
Cordarius says, "I was no fan of Octaven's."
Cordarius says, "I'm still not."
Cordarius says, "But we have other threats to concern ourselves with."
Speaking irritatedly to Cordarius, Adelynn prods, "Are you going to disclose to the people of this town what Octaven had to say, since it undoubtedly will affect us?"
Adelynn scornfully adds, "Or is that simply Hall of Mages business?"
Cordarius says, "However, she did not come out and say it precisely...."
Cordarius glances at Adelynn.
Cordarius says, "I'm getting to it."
Cordarius nods at Adelynn.
Cordarius says, "I suspect Amos was involved in her release from the bane coffin."
Leafiara suddenly asks, "Wait, she intimated as much?"
Cordarius says, "No, she did not answer me."
Cordarius says, "But, I have known her for awhile. I know when something might be true."
Cordarius says, "But she seems unconcerned with me, and Vlashandra."
Leafiara inquires, "Did she seem to have any inkling of who might have taken her coffin in the first place?"
Cordarius says, "No. It was the briefest conversation."
Cordarius says, "Long enough for her to say she was not going to kill me or come for the town."
Cordarius shrugs.
Cordarius says, "So I left it on that note for now."
Cordarius says, "Because Thadston's health is my first priority."
Cordarius says, "Casiphia would like to do something to try to help him this weekend."
Cordarius says, "I am open to ideas."
Zurya hesitantly says, "Sometimes people just need something meaningful to do."
Cordarius shrugs at Zurya.
Cordarius says, "You're not wrong."
Cordarius nods at Zurya.
Cordarius says, "Something to help soothe his mind."
Cordarius says, "Something that doesn't require us making a deal with someone else that haunts us later."
Vaemyr says, "I imagine his condition is somewhat similar from being freed from demon posession, except probably a bit more severe. We need something to stimulate the "real" Thadston, as it's probably that his mentality is still almost sealed."
Cordarius asks, "How?"
Cordarius peers quizzically at Vaemyr.
Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "A life or death situation is certainly one option, but dangerous, survival instincts will often trigger the personality to come and fight for itself rather than perish."
Cordarius nods at Vaemyr.
Cordarius says, "Dangerous...dark..but..."
Cordarius says, "I wonder...."
Cordarius says, "Hmm..."
Cordarius says, "I might have an idea."
Cordarius says, "It's going to require a golem or two."
Arynth asks, "Why always with the golems?"
Cordarius says, "Because I dont want to risk real lives."
Cordarius nods at Arynth.
Cordarius says, "We'll spend some time with him and Casiphia. Eventually, we send in golems to attack her."
Cordarius asks, "Snap. He's back, right?"
Cordarius asks, "Is the idea?"
Cordarius says, "...and if not. We drop golems."
A town clerk arrives, hands Cordarius a note, then runs off.
Cordarius frowns.
Speaking to Cordarius, Pukk asks, "Love note?"
Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "I do worry that might not be threatening enough."
Vaemyr says, "I guess it depends on the setup."
Vaemyr says, "We need to make it seem like others around might not be able to stop the golems in time, so Thadston won't have a choice but to go into action."
Cordarius says, "Town council meeting soon. The Darkstone Bay Consortium has filed the necessary permissions to begin a mining operation near the town."
Cordarius nods at Vaemyr.
Cordarius says, "Agreed."
Leafiara musingly asks, "How near?"
Cordarius says, "Somewhere near the old mine road I believe."
You notice a vein pulsing in Cordarius's forehead.
Cordarius says, "Excuse me. The burden of the office beckons me. We'll meet soon again to do what we can for Thadston."
Speaking hesitantly to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "I... ya know, I like your normal jovial self, but this is interesting too lately."
Speaking hastily to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "Don't read more into that than what I said directly."
Cordarius grins at Leafiara.
Leafiara winks at Cordarius.
Cordarius says, "Directly taken."
Cordarius winks at Leafiara.
Leafiara smirks.
Cordarius says, "Goodnight all."
Lord Cordarius just went north.

Other Quotables

Cordarius says, "Thadston's going to need our help still."
Leafiara slowly asks, "In what regard?"
Leafiara tiredly says, "It's basically taken the entire town to get him back on his feet already. Hopefully he realizes that."
Leafiara says, "His allies, his enemies, everything in between."
Meril just arrived, dragging the body of Markx with her.
Speaking to Markx, Pukk says, "Show off."
Speaking to Markx, Pukk says, "I knew Raelee could bore somebody to death but geesh."

Log

Meeting With Cordarius

[Town Square Central]

This is the heart of the main square of Wehnimer's Landing. The impromptu shops of the bazaar are clustered around this central gathering place, where townsfolk, travellers, and adventurers meet to talk, conspire or raise expeditions to the far-flung reaches of Elanith. At the north end, an old well, with moss-covered stones and a craggy roof, is shaded from the moonlight by a strong, robust tree. The oak is tall and straight, and it is apparent that the roots run deep. You also see the Vaemyr disk, a tincture of acantha, the Kezen disk, a slimy green frog, some stone benches with some stuff on it, an herbal remedy donation bin and a round silver-banded barrel.

Also here: The Notorious Leafiara, Lady Jennlyse, High Lady Rendena, Oplis, Kippe, Tuggs, Vaemyr, Fisher Beldannon, Lord Kezen, Telavien

Vaemyr says, "There looks like there might be a bit of a storm."

[General] Cordarius thinks, "Well, evening all."

Speaking quietly to Leafiara, Beldannon says, "But I don't want to go get doll pieces."

Pukk gazes up into the sky.

Pukk recites:

"Everybody join Leafiara!"

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "It's only a couple of us."

Beldannon quietly says, "I never listen to anything Pukk says."

[General] Pukk thinks, "Hi there Imp mage."

Beldannon quietly says, "Sometimes he is right but still."

[General] Leafiara greets, "Evening Cordarius!"

Pukk says, "Cordarius on the amunet."

Tynks asks, "What happened to the invoker bloke?"

Markx says, "Dead."

[General] Cordarius thinks, "I'm at Wayside."

Tynks says, "Of course he is."

Vaemyr says, "Perhaps we'll learn some more about our little captive, and maybe our missing statue."

Markx says, "But still comes around e'ery four hours or so."

Pukk says, "The invoker will be in the small park in about 10 minutes."

Leafiara curiously says, "Hmm, he's being a bit obvious for once."

Speaking to Tynks, Kippe says, "SHE will be in the small park in ten minutes."

Oulaga says, "The invoker (she) will be at the park here in just a few."

Leafiara recites:

"Moving!"

[General] Dwi asks, "Ye buyin?"

[Wayside Inn, Chamber]

Tables and chairs of all shapes, sizes and states of disrepair fill this large, undecorated chamber. Seated at many of the tables are groups intent on serious card games. From the far side of the room you hear the noisy cheers of a ragtag group of spectators rooting for the underdog in a wristwrestling match between the local blacksmith and an overfed member of the Wehnimer's Citizens' Militia. You also see a stone fireplace.

Also here: Lord Cordarius

Tynks, Pukk, Kippe and Vaemyr followed.

Speaking to Cordarius, Pukk says, "We got here faster because Cryheart wasn't leading."

Leafiara adds, "That and there are fewer of us."

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "Evening, I hope things have been going well since we last met."

Leafiara muses, "I suppose some are still exhausted since the last time."

Cordarius says, "Yes, and no, I'm uncertain."

Vaemyr says, "Last week was a pretty busy night."

Leafiara cocks her head at Cordarius.

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr asks, "Oh? Have you found out something about our missing statue? Or perhaps from our captive?"

Cordarius says, "It serves as a communication device, at times. It hasn't in awhile."

Leafiara adds, "I'm not especially concerned about Octaven at the moment anyway, to be honest, but... idle curiosity."

Ongoing Thadston Troubles

Cordarius says, "Thadston's going to need our help still."

Leafiara says, "Well... what kind of work did you have in mind for next on the agenda--"

Leafiara blinks at Cordarius.

Leafiara slowly asks, "In what regard?"

Vaemyr asks, "Yeah I'm curious, how so?"

Goldstr says, "Wha ever he needs."

Bellaja suggests, "A vacation seems like the best thing for him."

Leafiara tiredly says, "It's basically taken the entire town to get him back on his feet already. Hopefully he realizes that."

Leafiara says, "His allies, his enemies, everything in between."

Cordarius says, "The spirit's gone, Casiphia confirmed."

Roblar deeply says, "More my crowd."

Roblar deeply says, "Nice and small."

Cordarius says, "No azure light, no voices, his eyes look normal again."

Arynth says, "Good."

Goldstr asks, "Cassie confirmed a wha?"

Arynth says, "Gabriella's gone."

Cordarius says, "But his mind isn't fully right yet."

Speaking to Cordarius, Bellaja says, "The voices were creepy."

Speaking to Cordarius, Leafiara relents, "Ah, understandable."

Bellaja clarifies, "Well.. how he seemed to speak to them."

Leafiara suddenly says, "Wait. Please tell me you're not about to ask for some kind of mentalist delving."

Cordarius says, "I don't know exactly."

Leafiara groans.

Leafiara sighs, "Right then, assume the worst."

Pukk asks, "So, we need somebody who is mental?"

Kippe whispers something to Leafiara.

Pukk says, "I guess I fit that description."

Leafiara whispers something to Kippe.

Kippe whispers something to Leafiara.

Speaking interestedly to Cordarius, Arynth asks, "Of Imaera?"

Leafiara musingly says, "Alright, so seek out Puptilian..."

Cordarius says, "She's been known to shape flesh, bones, and plants."

Dwi heartily says, "Plants aint gots bones."

Bellaja says, "Oooh.."

Cordarius says, "Granted, not the mind...but, I'm afraid when it comes to Arkati and mentalist issues..."

Cordarius shrugs.

Arynth asks, "How is that going to help Thadston?"

Cordarius says, "Others are better suited than myself."

Leafiara admits, "I guess it's even possible she could restore his sight. ...theoretically..."

Bellaja asks, "So you want to transform the spirit to something that can bekilled?"

Vaemyr says, "He's probably been dealing with that passenger so long, that it was kinda like losing a part of himself at this point, but I'm not sure what you really do to "fix" that."

Raelee says, "And one must always be prepared for the day they do not answer."

Leafiara notes, "Octaven and her associates did already try aiding Thadston with the kroderine shards to no avail after he came back, so... we'll probably need to think of something new at very least."

Pukk says, "Cholen is always the answer."

The voice of Adelynn derisively scoffs, "Arkati always have their own angle."

Cordarius says, "I haven't seen him yet. But Casiphia says he sleeps a lot, mumbles, has scratched at his arms fiercely. Has moments where he does not recall where or who he is at times."

Bellaja says, "His arms did look a mess."

Adelynn wryly comments, "I'd sleep a lot too."

[General] Markx thinks, "This is bad."

Goldstr says, "Well from wha he beens thru he do need lots a rest."

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "All of that kinda sounds normal though, considering the situation."

[General] The ghost of Markx thinks, "Called it."

Cordarius nods at Vaemyr.

Leafiara says, "To be fair, though... Gabriela had been sort of sustaining him, right? And now he's without."

[General] Inck exclaims, "Ha!"

Cordarius nods at Leafiara.

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "It's much like being on a drug for a long time, he's going through withdrawel."

Leafiara somberly says, "It's an understandable concern."

Leafiara nods at Cordarius.

Cordarius says, "We're not even sure what the Bleaklands did to him before...her."

[General] The ghost of Markx asks, "Any help for a dead me please?"

Goldstr says, "Well he be a verra strong warrior. he kin get thru dis."

[General] Jiarine thinks, "The Invoker is here if you need spells."

Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "He was in our care for some time after his immediate retrieval. All of the notes from that time should be reviewed."

Octaven's Plans

Cordarius says, "I have had a small, small communication with Octaven."

Cordarius nods at Raelee.

Speaking carefully to Cordarius, Raelee asks, "... you have?"

Cordarius says, "Briefly. She'll be seeking you out in the future."

Cordarius nods at Raelee.

Speaking bluntly to Cordarius, Raelee says, "Good."

Vaemyr says, "Oh that sounds swell."

Cordarius says, "All of us really. I believe she intends a more present role within the Outpost."

Cordarius says, "Likely due to how I suspect she was freed."

Goldstr says, "Sir Andrews be no longer a knight a da Empire."

Arynth asks, "And what has Octaven siad?"

Leafiara reluctantly says, "On the bright side, at least she'd probably side against Barnom Slim with us if he actually has any interest in getting Vlashandra back."

Leafiara adds, "Which I kind of doubt, but time will tell."

Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee asks, "... does the Archmagister? The Earl? Anyone have thoughts on this?"

Adelynn scoffs, "Speaking of which, what has Vlashandra had to say?"

[General] Stormridden thinks, "Out of my league, sadly."

Cordarius says, "I've sent word to the Earl late last night. I'll leave Naylor up to you."

Cordarius nods at Raelee.

Meril just arrived, dragging the body of Markx with her.

Speaking to Adelynn, Pukk asks, "Probably something about her face, her face and how she wants Raelee's face?"

Cordarius says, "We're in a...unique situation."

Speaking to Cordarius, Raelee says, "... fine."

The ghostly voice of Markx says, "So this is where everyone is hidin out."

Cordarius says, "I was no fan of Octaven's."

Speaking to Markx, Pukk says, "Show off."

Speaking to Markx, Telagan says, "Quite the entrance."

The ghostly voice of Markx says, "I aim to please."

Speaking to Markx, Pukk says, "I knew Raelee could bore somebody to death but geesh."

Adelynn scornfully adds, "Or is that simply Hall of Mages business?"

Cordarius says, "However, she did not come out and say it precisely...."

Leafiara admits, "Yeah, she's quite a bit on the lower end of threats."

Cordarius glances at Adelynn.

Cordarius says, "I'm getting to it."

Cordarius nods at Adelynn.

Cordarius says, "I suspect Amos was involved in her release from the bane coffin."

Leafiara bluntly admits, "Yeah, so do... well, a lot of us here."

Vaemyr asks, "Speaking of other threats... anyone know if Amos has returned from his little foray to Zul last week?"

Leafiara suddenly asks, "Wait, she intimated as much?"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Kippe says, "I have not seen him."

Goldstr says, "Sooner Sir Andrews gets back wid da Militia da better."

Gespry melodically says, "It's possible."

Kippe whispers something to Vaemyr.

Cordarius says, "No, she did not answer me."

Cordarius says, "But, I have known her for awhile. I know when something might be true."

A stocky snow white puppy with oversized black-tipped paws stares up at Cordarius with sad eyes, obviously begging him for food or attention.

Gespry snaps his fingers and pats the side of his leg. Short thick tail wagging furiously, Gespry's stocky puppy bounds obediently to his side and settles down in a heel.

Cordarius says, "But she seems unconcerned with me, and Vlashandra."

Speaking melodically to a stocky snow white puppy with oversized black-tipped paws, Gespry says, "Leave him be."

Leafiara curiously says, "Interesting."

Leafiara inquires, "Did she seem to have any inkling of who might have taken her coffin in the first place?"

Adelynn abruptly says, "A moment."

Leafiara mutters, "Assuming that wasn't Amos too."

Cordarius says, "No. It was the briefest conversation."

Dwi heartily says, "Ye shouln't buy a coffin on installmints."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I blame Amos for everything."

Cordarius says, "Long enough for her to say she was not going to kill me or come for the town."

Cordarius shrugs.

Cordarius says, "So I left it on that note for now."

Leafiara pragmatically opines, "Probably wise."

Cordarius says, "Because Thadston's health is my first priority."

Arynth affably says, "Well, we agree on that at least."

Casiphia's Plans

Cordarius says, "Casiphia would like to do something to try to help him this weekend."

Cordarius says, "I am open to ideas."

Goldstr says, "Cassie should jess take him on a picnic."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk whispers aloud, "Are we sure that is the real Cordarius? He hasn't flirted with you once tonight."

Leafiara says, "At risk of sounding a bit like the Magister, it's hard to offer ideas when we don't really understand his condition."

Goldstr says, "Get his mind back on her."

Zurya hesitantly says, "Sometimes people just need something meaningful to do."

Cordarius shrugs at Zurya.

Speaking to Raelee, Bellaja asks, "Do you think the notes might reveal more about his condition?"

Cordarius says, "You're not wrong."

Cordarius nods at Zurya.

Speaking to Bellaja, Raelee says, "Not directly, no."

Cordarius says, "Something to help soothe his mind."

Speaking to Cordarius, Adelynn asks, "You're asking us for date ideas?"

Cordarius says, "Something that doesn't require us making a deal with someone else that haunts us later."

Leafiara says, "I suppose I can understand the Imaera idea, from a perspective of--if we don't know what to do, look for a panacea. Not sure how many of her followers we could find in just two or three days, though."

Diamondelille asks, "Does he like music?"

Leafiara says, "Hmmm..."

Adelynn offhandedly remarks, "A nice romp around the bedchamber should ease his mind just fine."

Raelee says, "They might, however, provide some broader insights into how the Bleak changed his body and mind. Comparing those to his state now can, perhaps, at least help us to separate the effects of the bleak from the effects of the possession."

Zurya asks, "Is he a follower of Imaera?"

Leafiara says, "I suppose if Casiphia had heard any word about Disean, she already would have told him, so we can't go that route."

Adelynn amusedly adds, "Or the kitchen. Or the stables."

Vaemyr says, "I imagine his condition is somewhat similar from being freed from demon posession, except probably a bit more severe. We need something to stimulate the "real" Thadston, as it's probably that his mentality is still almost sealed."

Leafiara wryly says, "Maybe we should just let him smash Wolfloner's face into a table like he usually does to let off some steam."

Cordarius asks, "How?"

Cordarius peers quizzically at Vaemyr.

Diamondelille says, "Mebbe a nice Bard a singin."

Kheira asks, "Someone said bard?"

Goldstr asks, "Maybe have him have a meetin wid da Militia?"

Diamondelille says, "Aye to sing to him."

Dwi heartily says, "Her did."

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "A life or death situation is certainly one option, but dangerous, survival instincts will often trigger the personality to come and fight for itself rather than perish."

Zurya says, "People come back when they're needed."

Kheira asks, "What shall the song be about?"

Speaking heartily to Kheira, Dwi exclaims, "Ale!"

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara says, "You framed it in a bit more serious way than me, but... exactly."

Cordarius nods at Vaemyr.

Cordarius says, "Dangerous...dark..but..."

Diamondelille says, "Love, romance... membrance."

[General] Eclevdra thinks, "Ah good to be back."

Cordarius says, "I wonder...."

Speaking to Cordarius, Pukk says, "Admit it, you like it."

Speaking to Cordarius, Bellaja says, "Nothing wrong with that."

Leafiara offers, "He's a fighter who's been off the front lines for, what, nearly a year now? Might need to get him sprung back into action the hard way."

Speaking heartily to Diamondelille, Dwi says, "Yuck."

Adelynn slyly notes, "I still say, when you're looking to stimulate a man, well..."

Diamondelille says, "How bout past battles hes won."

Kheira says, "I can try but im not well versed."

Speaking to Leafiara, Telagan says, "Not a liability that's way - sorrowful people on t'field often end up under it."

Speaking lightly to Adelynn, Leafiara says, "If that were the plan, he has Casi for that."

Speaking bluntly to Leafiara, Adelynn says, "And that's exactly what I suggested."

Speaking to Leafiara, Adelynn says, "Give them some time alone together to ... reconnect."

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara clarifies, "Right, but what I'm saying is... she's probably already been with him this whole time."

Kheira asks, "Shall i sing to you or just about some random love romance stuff?"

Cordarius says, "Hmm..."

Zurya asks, "I don't know him, but what's important to him?"

Cordarius says, "I might have an idea."

Goldstr says, "I think da main thing is to get him wid Cassie AND da Militia to get him back to normal ways."

Adelynn presses, "But has she been *with* him? Would you, after your man had been inhabited by a Bleakwalker who essentially forced you to marry him?"

Cordarius says, "It's going to require a golem or two."

Leafiara cautiously says, "Alright, we're listening..."

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "Sounds interesting."

Arynth asks, "Why always with the golems?"

Dwi heartily asks, "Ale Golem?"

Cordarius says, "Because I dont want to risk real lives."

Cordarius nods at Arynth.

Dwi heartily says, "Dey ne'er make golems outta usefull stuff."

Cordarius says, "We'll spend some time with him and Casiphia. Eventually, we send in golems to attack her."

Cordarius asks, "Snap. He's back, right?"

Cordarius asks, "Is the idea?"

Goldstr says, "Ahhh."

Markx says, "The threads of this story are woven into a fabric I do not yet understand."

Leafiara agrees, "I like it."

Cordarius says, "...and if not. We drop golems."

Goldstr says, "Does sound good."

Diamondelille asks, "Wot could go wrong?"

Adelynn disbelievingly asks, "You want to ... attack his woman?"

Speaking hurriedly to Diamondelille, Leafiara says, "Don't ask that around here."

Dwi heartily says, "If'n ye had ale golems...ye could spray em wit ale."

Diamondelille says, "Fergit I seddit."

Pukk asks, "It's quiet, what could go wrong?"

Mining Operation

A town clerk arrives, hands Cordarious a note, then runs off.

Vaemyr says, "That might work."

Leafiara says, "Trust me, I can think of twenty ways it could go wrong and the rest of the town could think of another couple hundred."

Arynth reasonably interjects, "It seems there's a lot of ways this could go wrong..."

Cordarius frowns.

Speaking to Pukk, Kheira says, "Say that and it might get loud."

Speaking to Cordarius, Pukk asks, "Love note?"

Speaking to Cordarius, Vaemyr says, "I do worry that might not be threatening enough."

Speaking to Diamondelille, Goldstr exclaims, "We gots a sayin wha could go wrong .. will!"

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "I kin think o' leben."

Cordarius peers quizzically at Vaemyr.

Adelynn dully asks, "Town clerks passing messages to magisters, not mayors?"

Vaemyr says, "I guess it depends on the setup."

Leafiara says, "I don't think it has to be all that threatening. This is Thadston we're talking about--he's always itching for battle anyway."

Arynth incredulously asks, "A mining operation?"

Leafiara musingly asks, "How near?"

Diamondelille asks, "Wot em minin fer?"

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "Tunnel starts inna yer office."

Cordarius says, "Somewhere near the old mine road I believe."

Arynth says, "There's already a mine near the town, full of.......kobolds. And iron."

Bellaja wonders, "What are they mining?"

Beldannon quietly says, "Hmm mining, I like to mine."

Beldannon quietly says, "Well and fish."

Beldannon mutters gambletoo.

Kheira says, "One would think a mining road would lead to a mine."

Goldstr says, "Amos jess wantin to get richer."

Pukk says, "Those kobolds will be upset."

Leafiara says, "Odd. I would have expected them to attempt to dig into Burrow Way from behind..."

Vaemyr asks, "I mean, there's a mine already, didn't think there was much left in it?"

Speaking flatly to Kheira, Arynth says, "It does."

Gespry melodically says, "Depends on what they mining for."

You notice a vein pulsing in Cordarius's forehead.

Speaking to Vaemyr, Arynth adds, "And there isn't."

Speaking heartily to Kheira, Dwi says, "Coupla played out ones...some still workin."

Arynth says, "It's an old iron mine."

Arynth says, "Nothing special about it."

Cordarius says, "Excuse me. The burden of the office beckons me. We'll meet soon again to do what we can for Thadston."

Speaking earnestly to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "Thanks for coming to speak with us tonight."

Speaking to Cordarius, Arynth says, "Fare you well, until then."

Speaking heartily to Leafiara, Dwi says, "See? da o'er burden starts inna yer office."

Meril quietly muses, "A mine is an investment for the long term. But whoever is sponsoring the work... will not wait for years for a plan to come to fruit."

Adelynn derisively says, "Thanks for what little information you deigned to give us."

Speaking hesitantly to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "I... ya know, I like your normal jovial self, but this is interesting too lately."

Speaking hastily to Cordarius, Leafiara says, "Don't read more into that than what I said directly."

Speaking quietly to Pukk, Dwi says, "Dat's a minin thing."

Cordarius grins at Leafiara.

Leafiara winks at Cordarius.

Cordarius says, "Directly taken."

Cordarius winks at Leafiara.

Leafiara smirks.

Cordarius says, "Goodnight all."

Vaemyr says, "Good night."

Diamondelille says, "Nite."

Markx says, "Evenin'."

Lord Cordarius just went north.

Conversation Afterward

Kheira says, "Good night Cordarius."

Gespry melodically says, "Good.."

Gespry melodically says, "Yea."

Pukk says, "He didn't give Raelee a smooch."

Pukk says, "Awwww."

Leafiara muses, "It's so odd... Amos keeps insisting the Consortium can protect the town with or without us, but never seems to do anything proactive."

Beldannon quietly says, "Well stuff to do."

Beldannon flags down a nearby urchin and exchanges a few words.

The urchin nods to Beldannon and takes off, with Beldannon in tow.

Arynth abruptly says, "If you'll all excuse me."

Leafiara says, "We destroyed Vlashandra's walls, cured Thadston, drove off the blood cult's kidnapping attempt..."

Leafiara says, "When Cordarius said 'mining' I figured he'd at least try to make a move on the Rooks."

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Yeah because Amos totally isn't behind half the problems..."

Leafiara asks, "But I don't think the old mine road connects to Burrow Way, does it?"

Goldstr exclaims, "Amos jess needs be run oughta town!"

Arynth says, "Bloody missed the invoker."

Vaemyr says, "Yeah no idea what the mining operation is about."

Kheira says, "Nah he just ran from ya."

Vaemyr says, "I think we're gonna have to learn about that one the hard way."

Asben says, "Thanks."

Speaking to Vaemyr, Leafiara mutters, "Yeah, probably."

Bellaja says, "With the surplus of iron around I can't imagine it's that."

Speaking to Leafiara, Arynth says, "I don't believe it connects in any fashion."

Arynth says, "The timing is odd, however, for the Consortium to suddenly be concerned about mining."

Vaemyr says, "Now I think I might have to agree with Cordarius and call it a night."

Leafiara says, "I just thought that at least Amos would want to *appear* like he's doing something, but not even that. Unless there's something more to this mining."

Leafiara mutters, "Which there no doubt is."

Vaemyr says, "Hopefully our little plan with Thadston goes well."

Arynth confusedly asks, "And why would Amos care what happens to Octaven?"

Speaking to Leafiara, Vaemyr says, "Gotta be something valuable."

Vaemyr says, "What that is, your guess is as good as mine."

Speaking to Leafiara, Pukk says, "I still think it's odd how Amos was missing during that event."

Speaking to Arynth, Leafiara says, "Well... suppose for a second that Octaven played some role in the creation of the hand pylons..."

Leafiara says, "I asked Cordarius about that once before, but he didn't know."

Adelynn suggests, "Why have we not attempted to put our own source inside the Consortium yet?"

Vaemyr says, "Maybe he found some information in his little trip to Zul, that some of us weren't aware of."

Speaking to Leafiara, Goldstr says, "I'll let da Order know of wha we discussed this eve."

Speaking appreciatively to Goldstr, Leafiara says, "Thank you."

Speaking curiously to Leafiara, Arynth asks, "Who created the original pylons? The larger ones?"

Speaking to Arynth, Leafiara says, "That would be our previous Regional Envoy before Cordarius, Pylasar."

Goldstr says, "Tinks was Pylasar."

Arynth says, "Thought so."

Leafiara says, "We've no idea who made the hand pylons."

Markx asks, "Whas the significance of tha pylons?"

Bellaja muses, "Pylasar makes pylons."

Adelynn wryly asks, "And we're sure it's not Cordarius himself?"

Goldstr says, "Nae."

Speaking to Markx, Leafiara says, "Amos says he has exclusive distribution rights on the hand pylons... and claims that the people going around attacking others with them lately have gotten them unauthorized."

Leafiara says, "But he evaded answering questions about who created them originally or signed those merchanting rights to him."

Speaking to Leafiara, Telagan asks, "Made exclusiv' by whom?"

Kheira says to Arynth, "You, sir, are a villainous, toad-spotted lewdster!"

Speaking to Telagan, Leafiara agrees, "That is the question."

Goldstr says, "Bah! Amos sells to all sides."

Adelynn pointedly notes, "His bane arrows from last week were a lovely little invention."

Rendena softly says, "I was the one...with the original pylon...."

Speaking thoughtfully to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "So someone is supplying a heck of a lot of trouble."

Adelynn asks, "So who's to say the hand pylons weren't also his invention?"

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara admits, "Anything's possible."

Speaking to Bellaja, Leafiara agrees, "Around here, always."

Leafiara says, "But as has been hinted... Amos might be an arms dealer selling to all sides."

Telagan says, "Easiest way t'be last standin' - jus' play the middle an' let everyone else wear downs."

Diamondelille says, "I gonna goes."

Adelynn derisively suggests, "It's possible the Hall of Mages is simply trying to sow discord along the frontier to gain a stronger hold here in the Landing."

Diamondelille says, "I still say gettim togedder with a Bard singin."

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara muses, "Given our past history with them... can't write it off."

Kheira says, "Im none too well versed."

Adelynn asks, "Then why trust him to such extent?"

Leafiara asks, "Cordarius?"

Pukk says, "Never trust an imp."

Arynth says, "If you'll all excuse me for the evening, I'm going to return to my training."

Leafiara says, "To be fair, he's been here for about two and a half years and has yet to cause any trouble."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk says, "Except you...your cheerful smile has grown on me."

Leafiara says, "While throwing his life on the line for us several times."

Speaking to Raelee, Pukk exclaims, "See!"

Leafiara says, "Still don't like that he was placed on the council directly by Earl Jovery without any input from then Mayor Lylia, though."

Adelynn firmly says, "Exactly my point."

Speaking to Adelynn, Leafiara notes, "But the Earl's not the Hall."

Adelynn says, "They're quite capable of playing the long game."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "The Empire is nothing else if not pushy and assumptive."

Adelynn says, "No, but the Hall can easily cooperate, or the Earl could have someone representing his interests in the Hall."

Leafiara pragmatically says, "I'll defer to Magister Raelee here since I'm not familiar with all of the ins and outs of Imperial hierarchies and politics."

Kheira asks, "What kind of interests does the Earl have?"

Raelee says, "... certain members of the Hall find this location quite appealing because no one is watching them."

Leafiara whispers aloud, "And besides, I don't trust the Imperials either, so I can only offer a defense in the interest of fairness for so long."

Raelee flatly continues, "... and no one is watching them because the rest, the vast majority, find this to be a wildly unappealing assignment."

Speaking impishly to Kheira, Adelynn jests, "Pretty little half-elf girls from Bourth."

Speaking wryly to Raelee, Adelynn asks, "And you trust Cordarius?"

Leafiara jests, "Between all the political assassinations, explosions, outlaws, dark dealings, blood magic, and ever-changing-and-rapidly-changing laws, why would anyone not want to come to the Landing?"

Telagan says, "I'd figure, at its least, the Tower an' its ties to the flows of magic would have some draws."

Telagan says, "Is a hike up there, but is unique from what's I know."

Adelynn jokingly suggests, "Put that in a tourism advert to run in the Darkstone Daily."

Leafiara says, "They do love the Reach."

Speaking to Leafiara, Bellaja says, "It's fascinating to watch, honestly."

Speaking to Adelynn, Raelee says, "I have nothing to offer to support the idea that this is a plan for the Hall to gain a foothold in Wehnimer's Landing."

Leafiara decisively claims, "Obviously it's a plot of Breshon and Spensor Caulfield, not the Hall."

Speaking scornfully to Raelee, Adelynn replies, "But would you offer it if you did, imp?"

Leafiara hurriedly adds, "Kidding, kidding."

Telagan says, "Magister from t'Hall doesn't have anythin' t'suggest t'Hall is up t'anything."

Bellaja says, "Go figure."

Speaking to Telagan, Adelynn agrees, "Exactly."

Kheira says, "I must be off to find me songs to sing."

Speaking to Telagan, Raelee asks, "And you find it surprising that few would want to be here?"

Speaking to Raelee, Telagan says, "I do considerin' such.. activity this town draws."

Speaking to Raelee, Telagan says, "None of the Magisters interested in the Reach, ample opportunity for offensive an' magic, ahem, research."

Adelynn wryly says, "I find it surprising the Hall hasn't convinced the Emperor to invade, and formally add the Reach to Tamzyr's territories so it can be studied and used."

Telagan says, "The Reach alone shoulds draw in 'nough attention."

Telagan says, "Direct access t'the flows west of the 'Spine."

Telagan says, "Ain't a common thing."

Pukk exclaims, "I'm going to dream of silvers!"

Speaking to Raelee, Telagan says, "If'n was offered access t'all magical powers, fuel... tellin' me that ain't worth 'least a eyebrow raise."

Leafiara muses, "I should probably be off myself."

Speaking to Telagan, Raelee says, "Again, one must separate the monolithic concept of the Hall from its people."

Leafiara wishes, "Rest well, all, when you do."
