All That Remains - 2020-05-21 - The Hunt for Socius
Ivastaen 21, 5120
These events took place as part of the KQST storyline "All That Remains." This log was recorded by Juspera and is only lightly edited.
Summary
- The events of this log take place following this post ([1]). For more context, see also these vignettes ([2], [3]).
- Faerinn Greatsinger, increasingly convinced that the man called The Fist, who had been leading attacks of gruesome patchwork creatures against Wehnimer's Landing, was none other than Socius Leiffen - the inheritor and onetime leader of the Isle of the Four Winds, who had ostensibly died and been buried on the Isle - and that he had been stripped of his memories through his use of a powerful magic.
- Faerinn, Nehor, Licel, Lynaera, Traiva, Akenna, Juspera, and Naamit gather at Helga's, where a dagger that resembled those Socius was known to use had been found pinning a note to a wall. Soon, the dagger vanishes, presumably returning to Socius, as his daggers were known to do. Hedging their bets by using both physical tracking methods and magical divination, the adventurers soon receive visions of a rocky location.
- The adventurers journey to Upper Trollfang, where a cloaked figure waylays them. Using island scents to spark his memories, they convince the figure to return to the Isle via teleportation. It becomes clear that he is, indeed, Socius, though he remembers almost nothing, only a few impressions. He is escorted to the Stumbling Pebble Bar II, where Greth Rottgut welcomes him with open arms, saying Socius is welcome to stay there under his protection.
Highlights
Speaking to you, Traiva says, "I will supervise." Speaking loudly to Traiva, Nehor confides, "I also have super vices." Speaking quietly to Nehor, Traiva agrees, "Yes, we are well aware."
A cloaked figure raises its head suddenly, then asks in a hard voice, "What of the monsters? Are you allied with them?" Nehor whines, "They're all monsters!" Nehor exclaims, "For bringing me to Socius. They are monsters! Monstrous!" Nehor accuses, "Monsters monsters monsters!" Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Shut up or I will light you on fire." Speaking to a cloaked figure, Nehor whines, "See? They want to set me on fire!"
Faerinn says, "Anything to help my ruse will help." Faerinn says, "But keep in mind the one councilman doesn't understand common, one is a horny idiot, one is blind, and I haven't met the woman. She's probably the hardest sale." Faerinn says, "So it's not the hardest crowd I have to convince."
Log
Preparing the dagger to be tracked
[Helga's Tavern, Barroom]
The blended odors of ale, sweat, leather, perfume and hearty stew fill the stifling air of the tavern. Disheveled regulars and road-weary travelers rub elbows at the wooden bar, which looks recently varnished but already bears a variety of stains and grime. Helga, the ancient, obese proprietor, moves behind the bar, wiping glasses with a dirty towel as she keeps a beady eye on the patrons. A small fireplace in one corner burns feebly, adding little light or warmth to the room. You also see a concerned luck spirit that is flying around, a black-eared red and grey fox, a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade, Helga, an overturned creel, a huge cast iron stewpot, a set of swinging doors and a tattered menu.
Also here: Faerinn, Flockmaster Nehor, Grand Lord Licel, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna
Obvious exits: north, west
Nehor sits down at the wooden bar.
Speaking to Akenna, Traiva quips, "Look pretty, yes. It is the quiet part he has trouble with."
Faerinn nods to you in greeting.
You survey the area.
Lynaera winks at you and flashes a sly grin.
You say, "Hi."
You grin at Lynaera.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna sighs, "Good boy."
Licel glances at you.
Traiva flutters her wings at you.
Akenna touches Nehor.
Licel nods in greeting.
Lynaera's shoulders shake subtly as she turns away from Akenna, while struggling to compose her features, revealing a glimmer of mirth before returning to a poker face.
You say, "Hi."
Speaking in Elven to Nehor, Faerinn says, "It's really good that you've come to help."
Faerinn nods to Licel in greeting.
Nehor blinks.
Akenna takes a drink from her honeyed herb tea.
You tap a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade.
>read note
"The mission is complete, and I choose my path now. Come looking for me again and I promise you will not appreciate what you find."
Licel smiles sweetly.
Licel nods to Faerinn in greeting.
The dagger imbedded in the wall begins to flicker, becoming momentarily translucent one moment, then returning to full opacity the next.
You exclaim, "Whoa!"
Speaking to Faerinn, Traiva says, "Aga--"
Akenna says, "Oh.."
Speaking drunkenly to Faerinn, Nehor responds, "I don't speak..."
Naamit suddenly fades into view.
Nehor glances at something in a pristine white ash instrument case framed by gently yellowed ivory inlay.
Nehor ponders.
Akenna says, "We'd better work fast."
You fidget.
Traiva nods at Akenna.
Naamit purposefully takes a few steps toward a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade.
Speaking to Faerinn, Traiva repeats, "Again, in Common."
Akenna says, "So..."
Faerinn says, "Oh, right."
Nehor coughs.
Traiva takes a drink from her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
Naamit glances over her shoulder.
Nehor turns to face Lynaera.
Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "Thank you."
Nehor squints.
Akenna gives a sidelong glance at you.
You blink at Akenna.
Speaking awkwardly to Lynaera, Nehor slurs, "Whats this? You aint sposed to be east of the spine..."
Speaking suddenly to Lynaera, Traiva asks, "Should I douse him in perfume, or leave him be?"
Traiva glances at Nehor.
Nehor frowns.
Nehor pushes himself away from the wooden bar and stands up.
(Faerinn takes a few drops of something and drips it on the dagger.)
Speaking to Traiva, Lynaera says, "Nehor? Leave him be."
Nehor accuses, "You're all against me!"
Nehor falls over.
Speaking disgustedly to Traiva, Naamit says, "He reeks of booze."
You nod at Faerinn.
Lynaera pulls Nehor to his feet.
Lynaera rests a gentle hand on Nehor's arm.
Faerinn says, "You know just another dose to scent..."
You glance at Nehor.
Nehor glances at you.
Naamit removes a spiral-bound perfume sprinkler blown of olivine glass from in her black leather bag.
Nehor sticks out his tongue.
Licel takes a moment to observe Nehor.
Lynaera whispers something to Nehor.
Naamit gently tugs the stopper from her perfume sprinkler and discreetly dabs perfume behind each ear before replacing it.
Nehor frowns.
Speaking disgustedly to Nehor, Akenna soothes, "No we're not, you're just drunk."
Speaking to Nehor, you say, "You're in a pretty bad state."
Naamit put a spiral-bound perfume sprinkler blown of olivine glass in her black leather bag.
Traiva shivers her wings.
Traiva flaps her wings in a steady beat.
>sniff note
It smells like a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade.
You grimace.
Faerinn asks, "Do we have a pendulum or something like it?"
Speaking drunkenly to you, Nehor counters, "Well..you're in a...police state!"
Speaking in Elven to you, Lynaera teases, "Isn't he always?"
Nehor nods firmly.
You say, "Um."
Naamit nods slowly at Faerinn.
You say, "I mean I have this thing around my neck."
You pinch the shard suspended from the chain around your neck and idly slide it back and forth along the length of rusty indigo.
Nehor blinks.
Nehor leans forward.
Nehor squints at Akenna.
Faerinn says, "That could work."
Lynaera joins Faerinn's group.
Traiva takes a drink from her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
You grasp the mist grey shard centered on your rusty indigo chain and raise it over your head, removing the chain.
Speaking suspiciously to Akenna, Nehor says, "Aint nothin round your neck."
You offer your mist grey shard to Faerinn, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Click CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.
Licel smiles sweetly.
Faerinn has accepted your offer and is now holding a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Nehor glances between Akenna and yourself.
Nehor gasps.
Faerinn offers Akenna a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Nehor wonderingly exclaims, "There's two!"
Akenna accepts Faerinn's mist grey shard.
Speaking to Nehor, you ask, "Two what?"
Nehor points at you!
Faerinn says, "I don't know which is going to work, but it looks like its going to happen any moment."
You glance over your shoulder.
Nehor slurs, "Of you!"
Speaking to you, Traiva says, "Be careful, he is quite drunk."
Nehor suddenly stumbles for no apparent reason.
You lower your face into the palm of your hand.
The dagger imbedded in the wall flickers once more, going translucent for a long moment before returning once again to full view.
Lynaera quietly murmurs, "It was the only way."
Faerinn nods at Akenna.
You exclaim, "Oh! Oh!"
Naamit stares at a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade.
You exclaim, "It did it again!"
(Akenna utters some words over her shard and dangles it over the dagger nodding a Naamit.)
Traiva nods slowly at Lynaera.
Akenna gestures crisply and utters a practiced phrase as raw elemental energies issue forth from her dimly glowing eyes. Akenna gestures.
Nehor worriedly says, "Shouldn't be glowin..."
Akenna offers Naamit a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Naamit accepts Akenna's mist grey shard.
Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "Blood please."
Speaking to Lynaera, Nehor says, "You said there would be..."
You exclaim, "Wait!"
Nehor glances at Akenna.
You ask, "Are you going to get blood on it?"
Nehor worriedly says, "Not blood."
Lynaera rests a gentle hand on Nehor's arm.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Not yours."
Naamit purposefully takes a few steps toward a scrawled note pinned to one wall by a narrow-bladed eonake dagger with blood red runes along its blade.
You say, "That's my... favorite shard."
Speaking to Nehor, Faerinn says, "The lights signal that the party begins."
Speaking to you, Akenna says, "I'll clean it after."
You fidget, glancing at Naamit.
(Naamit glides her left palm over the bare eonake dagger's blade, liberally slicing it.)
Speaking to Akenna, you ask, "Okay but not with your mouth okay?"
Speaking to you, Traiva says, "I will supervise."
You bite your lip.
Nehor glances at Traiva.
Licel raises an eyebrow.
(Naamit wipes her hand upon the mist grey shard.)
Speaking to you, Akenna says, "Ew no... not with my mouth."
You wrinkle your nose.
Speaking to you, Traiva asks, "And who do you know that would clean a bloody shard with her mouth?"
Licel takes a moment to observe Naamit.
Speaking loudly to Traiva, Nehor confides, "I also have super vices."
The dagger glows brightly for a long moment, making a sizzling noise.
You can offer Traiva only a blank expression.
Speaking quietly to Nehor, Traiva agrees, "Yes, we are well aware."
Naamit asks, "Who is next with this?"
Nehor nods.
Nehor proudly slurs, "The most super of them all."
Helga wipes her hands on her apron and glances out the door.
Nehor beams happily at Lynaera!
Akenna says, "Well fox..."
Akenna coughs.
Naamit shushes Helga!
Lynaera raises an eyebrow in Nehor's direction.
(Faerinn rubs his own hand against the eonake blade.)
Naamit offers Akenna a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Speaking to Nehor, you ask, "Why are you drunk?"
Akenna accepts Naamit's mist grey shard.
Nehor blinks at you.
The dagger imbedded in the wall flickers out of sight again, but this time when it returns to full view, it sets the note attached ablaze! As the flames curl around the dagger itself, it flickers once more and is gone!
Speaking to you, Traiva whispers aloud, "It was the only way to get him here."
Speaking offendedly to you, Nehor asks, "Why WOULDN'T I be?"
Nehor scoffs.
You exclaim, "Oh no!"
You say, "We lost the note."
Naamit turns around.
Naamit surreptitiously glances around the room.
You puzzle over Nehor.
Traiva frustratedly says, "Bother."
Licel takes a drink from his honeyed herb tea.
Faerinn nods at Akenna.
Nehor wrinkles his nose.
Nehor glances around the room.
You quietly whisper to Traiva, "You're not drunk, are you?"
Nehor drunkenly declares, "Smells burnt."
Traiva leans over and whispers, "I am quite sober. As always."
Naamit rubs her eyes.
You nod slowly at Traiva.
Traiva glances at Naamit.
Receiving visions
Naamit faintly says, "I see something..."
(Faerinn rolls out a parchment of a cave, several of which are marked out in front of Akenna.)
(Akenna chants over the shard, it pulses a few times with a soft glow under the bloody smear.)
The voice of Lynaera asks, "What do you see?"
Traiva put a stein of rosy hibiscus metheglin in her sheer silk cloak.
Naamit whispers aloud, "A familiar valley, somewhat near."
Helga quickly pockets your silvers.
Helga nods to you and says, "Here! And you better not spill it either!"
With a flurry of movements, Helga produces a goblet of warm mulled wine and places it on the wooden bar.
Licel blinks.
You remove a goblet of warm mulled wine from on a stained wooden bar.
You shift your weight.
Nehor stares at you.
Traiva asks, "Melghoren's?"
Nehor whimpers.
Naamit twists her head slightly, cracking her neck. She looks relieved.
(Traiva quickly glances at the parchment in front of Akenna.)
Speaking to you, Nehor whispers aloud, "May I have some?"
Naamit narrows her eyes.
You nod at Nehor.
Nehor sticks out his tongue.
Speaking to Nehor, you say, "Hold still."
(Akenna raises her shard over the map, letting it dangle.)
You try to pour your warm mulled wine on Nehor, but he was able to dodge out of the way. You have 4 quaffs left.
Naamit says, "Let's try it."
The red and grey fox barks.
You exclaim, "I said hold still!"
You pour your wine out on Nehor. That was the last drop.
Faerinn says, "Oh, I'm getting blood on it."
Nehor gasps.
Akenna grimaces suddenly, swallowing hard.
You say, "Ugh. That was all of it."
Naamit settles her gaze on Akenna, watching her intently.
Nehor complains, "Its not inside of me."
Akenna says, "Sea air."
Helga quickly pockets your silvers.
Helga nods to you and says, "Here! And you better not spill it either!"
With a flurry of movements, Helga produces a goblet of warm mulled wine and places it on the wooden bar.
You remove a goblet of warm mulled wine from on a stained wooden bar.
You fold your arms over your chest.
Akenna says, "I taste sea air."
(Faerinn wipes his hand against Helga's bar. There's no discernable difference.)
You glance at Akenna.
Speaking to Akenna, Naamit says, "What do you sense."
Naamit asks, "A valley near the sea?"
Lynaera asks, "Some cavern by the coast, perhaps?"
You lean forward.
(Akenna screws her eyes shut and focuses more intently.)
Faerinn asks, "The coastal cliffs?"
Traiva says, "Oh, there's the caves where the Shelfae are."
Nehor declares, "I've been to the caves before!"
Akenna says, "Yes, I taste the sea air... and salt."
You nod slowly.
Nehor slurs, "I used to take people and...well...yeah. We'd do stuff."
Naamit says, "I sensed a valley."
Nehor says, "Secret stuff."
Nehor nods firmly.
Licel agrees with Nehor.
Traiva furrows her brow.
Licel smiles sweetly.
You glance sternly at Nehor.
Faerinn flexes one hand absently, a troubled look on his face.
Helga nods to Faerinn and says, "Here!"
With a flurry of movements, Helga produces a juicy roast rolton sandwich and places it on the wooden bar.
Nehor flashes a wide grin at Licel.
Naamit says, "I am at a loss to think of any valleys near sea and caves."
Naamit turns to face Faerinn.
Speaking to Licel, Nehor notes, "I dunno who you are!"
Nehor trips over something and lands right in front of Licel.
Faerinn removes a juicy roast rolton sandwich from on a stained wooden bar.
Nehor blinks.
Licel looks thoughtfully at Nehor.
Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit says, "You sensed something."
Faerinn says, "Peace offerings..."
Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "I know of none unless he's circulating."
Traiva says, "Melghoren's Valley is nearby, and that is near Mine Road that leads to more sea caves, by the big pine tree."
Nehor sniffs at Licel.
You ponder the meaning of Traiva's existence.
Akenna says, "Which is possible."
Licel turns to face Nehor.
Licel leans forward.
Speaking suspiciously to Licel, Nehor notes, "You don't smell like you should."
Akenna says, "If I were him I would move."
Licel cocks his head.
Nehor narrows his eyes.
Nehor sways back and forth.
Traiva says, "Goblins like that cave."
Speaking curiously to Nehor, Licel queries, "And how is it that I should smell, my friend?"
Akenna slowly empties her lungs.
Nehor ponders.
Licel cocks his head.
(Juspera delicately scratches the inside of her nose.)
Akenna says, "So where to first, valley or sea caves."
Faerinn looks over at Naamit and shakes his head.
You glance at Traiva.
Faerinn says, "I didn't sense anytying."
Nehor drunkenly muses, "How should I know, I haven't ever smelled how you are supposed to smell. I dont think I have?"
Akenna offers Faerinn a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Faerinn accepts Akenna's mist grey shard.
Naamit says, "Might as well try the valley first, then circle back to the caves."
You sternly say, "Nehor."
Your vision clouds for just a moment, and you glimpse the outline of large boulders for the briefest of moments before everything is clear once again.
Speaking wonderingly to himself, Nehor whispers aloud, "Maybe my nose is drunk too."
You blink.
(Akenna touches Faerinn's temple and utters a few words.)
You say, "Whoa."
Nehor turns to face you.
You exclaim, "I saw boulders!"
You say, "Like big ones."
Licel glances at you.
(Faerinn rubs his bloodied hand against the shard and grasps it.)
Nehor gasps.
(Juspera demonstrates with her hands.)
Lynaera raises an eyebrow in your direction.
Speaking wonderingly to you, Nehor exclaims, "This big?!"
Traiva says, "There are boulders off the Mine Road.."
You nod at Lynaera.
You glance at Nehor.
Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna asks, "What do you see?"
(Nehor tries to mimic Juspera's hand gestures.)
You say, "I guess we should head for the Mine Road."
You nod at Nehor.
You snap, "Yes that big."
Nehor beams!
(Faerinn closes his eyes in concentration.)
Licel takes a drink from his honeyed herb tea.
Nehor happily says, "I did it. I was always good with my hands."
Nehor winks at you.
You lean back.
Nehor belches.
Akenna glances at Nehor.
Traiva exclaims, "Oh!"
The red and grey fox sniffs at the air.
Traiva exclaims, "Oh oh oh!"
Faerinn peers quizzically at Traiva.
Lynaera raises an eyebrow in Traiva's direction.
Traiva says, "The rockslide off Mine Road.."
(Akenna huffs a disgusted scoff.)
Traiva excitedly says, "That leads into another Valley.."
Naamit says, "Let's look there."
You lean to your left.
Naamit nods once.
You take a drink from your warm mulled wine. The fragrant scents of several spices and the fruity tastes of oranges and strawberry explode in your mouth. You have 4 quaffs left.
Lynaera nods approvingly.
Faerinn nods at Traiva.
Licel takes a drink from his honeyed herb tea.
Faerinn offers Akenna a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Akenna accepts Faerinn's mist grey shard.
You glance dubiously at the warm mulled wine in your hand.
You mutter, "Kinda fruity."
Speaking to Faerinn, Akenna asks, "Did you see anything?"
Faerinn shivers suddenly, and absently rubs his hands together.
Naamit cocks her head at Faerinn.
Nehor glances at Faerinn.
Faerinn says, "There...."
Traiva cocks her head at Faerinn.
Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit says, "Something is addling you."
You furrow your brow, probably adding a wrinkle or two in the process.
Faerinn says, "I feel damp and chilly. I see stone walls around me."
Traiva furrows her brow.
Faerinn says, "That's all. I'm not the most receptive type in that manner."
You say, "Um."
Akenna says, "I think we should try the sea caves... then perhaps--the valley."
Nehor put a small clay bobcat in his instrument case.
Akenna glances around the room.
Speaking to Faerinn, Naamit says, "You are leading."
Faerinn asks, "Where are we going first and who wants to lead the way?"
Naamit says, "I can lead if you don't want to."
Traiva says, "I can lead either place."
Traiva says, "Or Naamit."
Akenna offers Nehor a chalice of mint on the rum.
Lynaera says, "I do not know the area. I would prefer to follow."
You fidget.
Nehor accepts Akenna's mint on the rum.
Faerinn designates Naamit as the new leader of the group.
Traiva says, "She saw one of the visions."
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Here."
Nehor beams happily at Akenna!
Nehor takes a drink from his mint on the rum. Nehor looks rather relaxed.
You remove a small razor-sharp hatchet from in your cloak.
Licel takes a drink from his honeyed herb tea.
Nehor lets out a sudden sob, and buries his face in his hands.
Nehor relievedly says, "Ahhh."
Licel smacks his lips.
Nehor gasps.
You stare at Nehor.
Nehor fearfully declares, "Stop looking at me!"
Speaking to Naamit, Faerinn says, "I leave the directions in your capable hands."
Speaking to Naamit, Akenna asks, "Show us where?"
You glare with disgust at Nehor.
Standoff among the stones
Travel.
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a set of swinging doors.
[Ridge Line]
A group of tall, rough cut boulders lies carefully placed in a semi-circle with its opening toward the ocean below. There are numerous carvings of stone faces, some quite intricate, and others which appear to have been hewn with poor stone tools.
Also here: Faerinn, Flockmaster Nehor, Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Mistress Naamit
Obvious paths: west, down
Nehor worriedly says, "Faces...made of stone...carved from the rocks...like the rock inside of me..."
You pant, trying to catch your breath.
The red and grey fox pants quietly.
Licel glances at Nehor.
Traiva asks, "What about the Wolves' Den?"
Naamit points at some boulders.
Speaking to Nehor, you ask, "Really?"
Nehor nods once.
Licel gazes thoughtfully at some boulders.
Nehor wails, "Judging me!"
Faerinn blinks at Nehor.
Traiva stumbles suddenly, going to one knee. After a moment, her gasps and scrambles backward, eyes wide.
You say, "Oh."
You gaze in wonder at your surroundings.
Licel glances at Traiva.
Traiva stands up.
You whisper aloud, "Here."
Traiva says, "Well then."
Akenna says, "Oh.."
Speaking to Traiva, Faerinn asks, "Are you ok?"
Nehor worriedly says, "I don't like this place..."
>l bou
Some of the carvings on these boulders are ancient, worn smooth by wind and time. Others are more recent, though crudely done. Just behind the boulders, a dark hole leads down.
Nehor gulps.
Traiva says, "Watch out for wires..."
Nehor blinks at a black-eared red and grey fox.
Nehor gasps.
You don't find anything of interest here. Roundtime: 3 sec.
Faerinn searches around for a moment.
The red and grey fox barks at Nehor.
The red and grey fox barks.
Speaking soothingly to Nehor, Licel coos, "Oooh, it's just alright."
Nehor points at a black-eared red and grey fox.
From nearby, a strong voice calls out, "Turn back! You are trespassing where you are not wanted, and there need be no bloodshed this day."
Licel nods at Nehor.
You fidget.
Nehor frightenedly asks, "Bloodshed?"
You take a drink from your warm mulled wine. You have one quaff left. That was the last of it!
You sling a burnished imflass buckler off from over your shoulder.
Traiva whispers to the group, "We found it."
Nehor takes a drink from his mint on the rum.
Naamit glances down.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna assures, "No, no... just keep drinking your rum."
Mistress Naamit's group just went down.
[Ocean View]
The ocean and all of its majesty dance far below this man made perch. A bench of solid stone, carved from the cliff, overlooks a simple stone table. Dried flowers adorn the table, an offering by some unknown person devoted to the old ways. You also see some carved stone doors.
Also here: Faerinn, Flockmaster Nehor, Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Mistress Naamit
Obvious paths: up
Nehor yells, "Stop yelling, it hurts my head!"
Naamit points at some carved stone doors.
Faerinn yells, "We only want to talk! I have food!"
Traiva rests a gentle hand on Nehor's arm.
Nehor gasps.
Nehor worriedly says, "The faces.."
You shout, "We're not here to hurt you."
Licel glances at you.
Licel raises an eyebrow.
Faerinn points at a stone bench.
Nehor blinks at you.
Naamit says, "Socius, we mean you no harm."
Speaking to you, Nehor says, "You always hurt things though."
Nehor's face turns slightly pale.
You kick Nehor!
Akenna loudly offers, "We know who you are."
Nehor wails!
Speaking to Nehor, you yell, "I do not!"
Traiva says, "We want to help."
Naamit glances sternly around the area.
Lynaera leans over and whispers, "Do not damage my prize."
Nehor asks, "Socius? What? Where?"
Nehor cowers.
Traiva traces a sign while petitioning the spirits for cognition...
Traiva gestures.
A sense of peace and calm settles over the area.
You fidget.
Traiva removes a verdant green wisp-shaped bottle from in her sheer silk cloak.
Nehor moves to stand behind Lynaera.
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "...my boots?"
Speaking worriedly to Lynaera, Nehor commands, "Protect me!"
Lynaera nods reassuringly at Nehor.
Faerinn yells, "We come from Mist Harbor. We know of you and your family!"
Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. The stable thump of a heartbeat rings out loudly nearby.
This is messaging relating to the portal at Lake Eonak.
Licel sweetly confirms, "All of us."
Licel nods.
Nehor winces.
Faerinn yells, "We'd like to offer you a new Mission."
(Traiva pours some of the liquid from her bottle, trying to spread the scent of rain-washed jungle and flowers.)
Akenna yells, "Your duty is to Mist Harbor."
(Nehor moans and grabs his head at the thudding.)
Akenna gasps and ducks to one side, her face growing deathly pale.
Lynaera whispers, "Nehor. Do not damage him if you can."
Naamit yells, "Your life is Mist Harbor."
Akenna blinks.
Naamit cocks her head at Akenna.
Faerinn peers quizzically at Akenna.
Traiva yells, "With the jungle! Remember!"
Akenna fearfully says, "Dagger.."
You fidget.
Nehor stumbles toward a simple stone table before regaining his balance.
You focus on projecting your thoughts...
You (Focused to Lynaera) [Global]: "Okay I won't. But he's being really annoying."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Akenna slowly empties her lungs.
Nehor reaches out and touches a simple stone table.
Akenna defiantly yells, "We aren't leaving until you come back with us!"
Naamit says, "Let us enter."
Naamit points at some carved stone doors.
Lynaera whispers, "Few know this better than I. I understand. Still, he is under my protection."
You reach out and touch some carved stone doors.
A low voice hisses from nearby, "What use memory? I live, I hunt, I exist. And I am free. Leave me, while you can."
You bite your lip.
Nehor drunkenly says, "Maybe it wants flowers..."
Licel narrows his eyes.
Traiva yells, "You can be free with memory!"
Akenna yells, "Throw as many daggers as you like... but you have a responsibilty!"
You focus on projecting your thoughts...
You (Focused to Lynaera) [Local]: "Okay but kicking him isn't really hurting him."
Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds.
Faerinn yells, "A Mission!"
Naamit yells, "You will not be free much longer here, there is a bounty on your head and we mean to keep you from it!"
The voice of Lynaera says, "You are but a shadow of your former self, without them. You are as nothing, lacking the memories of your family and duty."
You nod at Naamit.
A cloaked figure just arrived.
A cloaked figure just went up.
Nehor glances up.
Akenna exclaims, "Go!"
Traiva points up.
Mistress Naamit's group just went up.
[Ridge Line]
A group of tall, rough cut boulders lies carefully placed in a semi-circle with its opening toward the ocean below. There are numerous carvings of stone faces, some quite intricate, and others which appear to have been hewn with poor stone tools. You also see a cave nipper and a cloaked figure.
Also here: Faerinn, Flockmaster Nehor, Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Mistress Naamit
Obvious paths: west, down
A cloaked figure just went west.
Nehor flails his arms about.
Mistress Naamit's group just went west.
[Ridge Line]
Sun-bleached bones lie scattered over the rocky ridge, none of them discernable as human. Large aerial guardians circle high overhead as they keep watch over the ocean, hilltop and meadow. You also see a seasoned Grimswarm orc warrior and a thrak.
Also here: Faerinn, Flockmaster Nehor, Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Mistress Naamit
Obvious paths: east, west
Licel glances around the area.
Nehor worriedly exclaims, "Get him! He vanished!"
Traiva traces a sign while beseeching the spirits for empowerment...
Lynaera folds her hands behind her back.
Faerinn searches around for a moment.
Lynaera searches around for a moment.
Nehor whimpers.
Naamit surreptitiously glances around the area.
Akenna sighs.
Naamit looses a ghastly, keening wail!
Naamit skillfully begins to weave another verse into her harmony.
A sense of peace and calm settles over the area.
You belt out, "Oh I don't care, I don't care if you have memories or don't have memories. But your life is in danger and we can help."
You don't find anything of interest here. Roundtime: 3 sec.
Naamit says, "Lost him."
Nehor yells, "Don't believe her, she lies a lot!"
(Akenna holds up her shard and chants softly.)
Licel glances at Nehor.
You think to yourself, "And also you need to tell me how to lose my memories too..."
Traiva pokes Nehor in the ribs.
Nehor painfully exclaims, "Ow!"
Nehor mutters under his breath.
A voice hisses from nearby, "I don't need your help! Why can't you leave me be?"
Naamit yells, "Come back here!"
You mumble something under your breath.
Naamit pushes her hands down against her gown in a provocative gesture, fingers idly wagging at the hip.
Traiva yells, "Because others will not leave you be!"
Akenna says, "Because Socius you are our family."
Faerinn yells, "We have a head start from the bounty hunters, we canhelp you."
Traiva yells, "We can take you to a place where you -CAN- be."
Lynaera whispers something to Traiva.
Nehor agrees, "No one leaves me be either. They're always dragging me around."
You whisper aloud, "Do the... perfume thing again."
A cloaked figure just arrived.
Akenna explains, "We care for you."
Akenna frowns at a cloaked figure.
Naamit places her hand on her asymmetric girdle.
Naamit shifts her weight.
Nehor squints at a cloaked figure.
Faerinn says, "Because you're our friend, dammit."
A cloaked figure glares from beneath the cowl of its cloak, a dagger glinting in one hand.
Licel glances at a cloaked figure.
Lynaera covers her black ora pendant with her palm, and a sinister black haze surrounding her form fades.
You take a few steps back.
(Traiva waves her bottle around, spreading the scent of rain-washed jungle.)
Lynaera curtsies politely to a cloaked figure.
A cloaked figure growls, "I will not be used again."
Faerinn says, "Look. I know you're hungry out here."
(Akenna ignites a ball of fire in her free hand.)
Faerinn bows to a cloaked figure.
Faerinn carefully places a juicy roast rolton sandwich on the ground.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Good evening, friend. You may not remember me but I assure you, we were once staunch allies."
The red and grey fox raises his ears, glancing around the area.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We don't want to use you."
Faerinn moves a little closer to a cloaked figure, closely watching every movement.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "You once asked me to trust you."
Naamit removes a small note from in her black leather bag.
The red and grey fox pants quietly.
Speaking gently to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "We do not want to use you."
Naamit shows a cloaked figure her small note.
(Faerinn backs away from the sandwich.)
You insist, "We are inviting you to move to another place where you'll be free from the bounty hunters that are after you."
Speaking drunkenly to a cloaked figure, Nehor agrees, "Being used is the worst. But you can't get away from it. Everyone uses you. Probably even now."
Licel glances between Naamit and a cloaked figure.
Traiva gently says, "Only help you."
Licel ponders.
Nehor belches.
Akenna says, "You asked me to trust you."
A cloaked figure stares hard at Naamit, going eerily still.
You glance at Nehor.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Lynaera says, "People use you, even now. Only, you cannot see it."
Naamit says, "That is your handwriting. I obliged. And now I ask you, to trust me."
Naamit nods firmly to the cloaked figure.
A cloaked figure takes a careful step backwards.
Naamit says, "Come back to the windy isle with us."
Naamit stares at a cloaked figure.
A cloaked figure whispers quietly, "I don't... remember..."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna pleads, "Please, don't leave... we want to help."
Nehor leans toward a cloaked figure.
You say, "Socius Leiffen."
Naamit says, "We will help you remember."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "We can help you."
Nehor blinks at you.
Naamit says, "Yes, your name is Socius Leiffen."
Traiva leans forward.
Speaking worriedly to Lynaera, Nehor accuses, "You brought me to SOCIUS?!"
Nehor glances between Lynaera and a cloaked figure.
Nehor's face turns slightly pale.
(Juspera claps her hand over Nehor's mouth.)
Faerinn says, "Brother of Essit Leiffen."
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna hisses, "Shut up."
Raising his hands before him, Nehor quickly backpedals away from Lynaera.
Speaking softly to Nehor, Lynaera says, "Be at ease, you are safe."
(Traiva tries waving the bottle closer to the figure, pouring some out to spread the scent of rain-washed jungle.)
Naamit nods in agreement at Faerinn.
You mutter something inaudible.
Nehor gulps.
Nehor falls over.
Nehor sits up.
A cloaked figure growls, "What... what did you mean by bounty hunters?"
(Nehor tries to crawl backward away from everyone.)
(Juspera wipes her hand on her leggings.)
Licel glances at a cloaked figure.
Akenna opens her mouth to speak. After remaining silent for a pregnant moment, she closes her mouth again, her brow furrowed.
Traiva moves to stand behind Nehor.
You ask, "From the nearby town. They're looking for you because... they think you were involved in some attacks?"
Nehor trembles.
You clear your throat.
Naamit says, "You've been accused of high crimes against the little hovel town and they mean to bring you to justice. For as much as they are capable of exacting it."
Naamit rolls her eyes.
You try hard not to grin.
Licel smirks.
Traiva nods slowly at Naamit.
A cloaked figure protests, "I completed the mission. Missions must always be completed."
You clasp a hand over your mouth.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "From the town. They're looking for you, because of your time as The Fist."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, you ask, "Wait what mission?"
A cloaked figure whips its head around to stare at Faerinn.
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "You do not belong to them."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Lynaera asks, "But whose mission?"
Naamit nods in agreement at Traiva.
Naamit says, "We should move to the isle and get this all sorted out. You don't belong here, Socius."
Speaking emphatically to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "You belong to the Isle of Four Winds. To the seas and the jungles there."
Speaking gently to a cloaked figure, Lynaera says, "You used to have your own mission."
Akenna agrees with Naamit.
A cloaked figure mutters, "The... isle..."
A cloaked figure shudders.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "Please come back to Mist Harbor."
You nod slowly to the cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "The windy isle, bound on four sides by Charl's Fingers."
You ask, "You remember the Iyo?"
Nehor stands up.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "It is your island."
A cloaked figure whispers, ".... the jungle...."
Nehor sways back and forth.
Nehor tiptoes up to a cloaked figure.
You say, "Mm-hm."
(Traiva waves the bottle around again, spreading the scent of rain-washed jungle flowers.)
Traiva flaps her wings at the figure, which doesn't seem at all impressed.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Yes, it has massive jungles."
Lynaera rests a gentle hand on Nehor's arm.
Licel glances between Nehor and a cloaked figure.
(Nehor tries to brain the figure in the back of the head with his mug of rum.)
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "Lush, beautiful jungles."
Licel narrows his eyes to mere slits as a sibilant hissing rasps from between his lips.
Speaking to Naamit, Akenna says, "And sea as far as the mist will let you glean them."
You sharply yell, "Nehor!"
Traiva gives Nehor a series of teasing little prods along the spine.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "Yes, and it was your mission to protect it."
A cloaked figure slides easily aside, tripping Nehor almost absently.
Licel glances up.
Licel hisses.
Nehor falls over.
Lynaera thumps Nehor!
Nehor mutters under his breath.
Naamit nods in agreement at Faerinn.
Speaking quietly to Nehor, Traiva hisses, "Behave."
(Faerinn puts his foot on Nehor.)
Nehor squirms.
Curls of light red vapor seep along the grasslands near Lake Eonak, quietly and briefly blanketing the ground in a scarlet haze.
Nehor whines at Faerinn!
Naamit turns to face a cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "You saved it, the island is safe... because of you and Selbi."
Naamit nods firmly to the cloaked figure.
Traiva nods to the cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Very much your oath, to protect the Isle."
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "It is -your- Isle."
Naamit places her hand on her asymmetric girdle.
Naamit shifts her weight.
A cloaked figure bows its head, swaying unsteadily on its feet.
Akenna echoes, "It is your isle."
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "And your belong to it."
The red and grey fox pants quietly.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "By rite of inheritance it is your isle and your home."
Speaking gently to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "Not here, not to the Landing, this little outpost town."
A cloaked figure echoes softly, "My... isle..."
Speaking quietly to a cloaked figure, Licel repeats, "Yours."
You nod slowly to the cloaked figure.
Licel smiles sweetly.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "From your father to you."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna agrees, "Yes, and you need to come back to protect it."
A cloaked figure raises its head suddenly, then asks in a hard voice, "What of the monsters? Are you allied with them?"
You shake your head at a cloaked figure.
Faerinn shakes his head.
You say, "No, I hate monsters."
Akenna says, "No."
(Traiva continues to gently wave her bottle, occasionally spilling a drop of the rain-washed jungle scented liquid.)
Nehor whines, "They're all monsters!"
Faerinn says, "I've been collected by the reapers far too many times for that to be the case."
Nehor exclaims, "For bringing me to Socius. They are monsters! Monstrous!"
You glance at Nehor and slowly draw your finger across your throat meaningfully.
(Faerinn rubs his left arm.)
Naamit curls one side of her lips up into a furtive, playful smirk.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We are not alligned with the people making those abominations."
Nehor accuses, "Monsters monsters monsters!"
Licel glances at Nehor.
Speaking quietly to Lynaera, Traiva whispers aloud, "I could Silence him with a flick of a finger.."
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "Shut up or I will light you on fire."
Lynaera nods politely at Traiva.
Speaking to Faerinn, you whisper aloud, "Can you put your boot on his face instead?"
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Nehor whines, "See? They want to set me on fire!"
Speaking to Traiva, Lynaera allows, "You may."
A cloaked figure states in a hard voice, "They said they were finished. The mission was only to procure what was procured."
Traiva slowly empties her lungs.
You blink at a cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, you ask, "Okay but what was that?"
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna asks, "What were they after?"
Traiva waggles her fingers mystically at Nehor. How nice.
You ask, "Oh just people's body parts?"
You say, "It's so gross."
Traiva traces a sign while beseeching the spirits for empowerment...
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "Then they are done with you then? Then we can return you to the Isle."
A cloaked figure notes in a monotone, "Body parts, of the recently deceased."
You nod to the cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna asks, "Why?"
Licel raises an eyebrow.
Akenna asks, "What are they planning?"
(OOC) Traiva's player whispers to the group, "Ha, I can't! Nice Sanctuary..."
Akenna asks, "Who are they?"
(Nehor struggles drunkenly under Faerinn's boot.)
Lynaera says, "Fuel for their projects, no doubt."
Naamit plainly reasons, "Well good, if your mission here is complete, you can come home with us."
(OOC) Naamit's player whispers to the group, "I have 1011 up."
A cloaked figure notes, "To craft a new body. The parts had to be perfect."
Naamit purses her lips, the glaes ring within them appearing a bit more prominent.
You ask, "Just one body?"
(OOC) Traiva's player whispers to the group, "Derp, that's right. Don't pull that down."
Akenna raises an eyebrow.
Licel nods understandingly.
Faerinn says, "We all carry a means to get you back home."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna asks, "A body for whom?"
Faerinn takes off a dragonfire opal hatpin.
You ask, "A perfect body? Is this for some guy who doesn't have a lady friend?"
Traiva removes a four-petalled violet sapphire pin from in her velvet belt pouch.
Naamit leans over and whispers, "He prefers men."
A cloaked figure goes silent for a long moment, then states, "I wasn't told. My mission was merely to gather the parts, by the most expedient method available."
Speaking to you, Akenna says, "Oh Juspera, that's so gross."
The red and grey fox barks.
Faerinn whispers, "It does have my arm."
Akenna shudders.
You shrug helplessly at Akenna.
The red and grey fox rolls around on the ground for a moment.
You quietly whisper to Naamit, "The guy making the perfect body?"
You quietly whisper to Naamit, "That's gross."
A cloaked figure exhales, then shakes its head once as if to clear it.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "I know, and I still want to help you my friend."
Naamit whispers, "Nevermind."
(Traiva holds her hand out to the figure, the four-petalled violet sapphire pin cradled in her palm.)
Speaking to Akenna, you say, "It's pretty gross. But people will go to terrible lengths to get someone to love them."
Licel glances at you.
Licel smirks.
(Nehor tries to bite Faerinn's ankle.)
A cloaked figure warily states, "Where is this Isle? I admit that your words have some ring of truth to them, but... I have no memories that stretch farther than a few weeks back."
Naamit points out.
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "This beautiful treasure.. This is what I keep to take me to your Isle."
Naamit says, "Out there, generally speaking."
Lynaera amusedly asks, "Not even that one brings back your memories?"
Speaking to a cloaked figure, you whisper aloud, "Do you remember how to forget memories? You don't have to tell everybody, just tell me."
Lynaera glances between Nehor and a cloaked figure.
Nehor's face turns slightly pale.
Nehor squirms.
Traiva's lagoon blue eostone pulses against her forehead, giving off a faint deep blue glow.
(Faerinn sits on Nehor's shoulders.)
Faerinn sits down next to Nehor.
Nehor wails!
Licel glances between a cloaked figure and yourself.
A cloaked figure regards Nehor for a long moment, and one hand slowly clenches, then relaxes once more.
You nod approvingly at Faerinn.
Traiva nods slowly.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit reminds, "You ripped his arm off once. It was glorious."
A cloaked figure notes, "There is... something there... but nothing of substance."
Naamit flashes a wolfish grin.
Traiva grins at Naamit.
Nehor incredulously says, "Nothing of substance?! Im made of substance! Why...I outta..."
Grasping his crimson velvet coatee tightly, Nehor lifts his head and loudly yet clearly explains how he will punish all those who have wronged him.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We'll have to find a way to get them back for you, your memories. Your father..."
Naamit adds, "Your sister."
Speaking to Nehor, Traiva warns, "Quiet."
Speaking to Faerinn, Nehor groans, "You have a lot of substance too."
Naamit muses, "Nazhor."
You quietly whisper to Faerinn, "Was it a really good arm?"
Naamit gazes watchfully at a cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "Your father he gave you strong magic but tied it to your memories."
You shift your weight.
A cloaked figure monotonously states, "I have no memory of any family. I am myself, and that's all."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We have to find a way to reverse it."
(Faerinn momentarily bounces up and down on Nehor's shoulder blades.)
Nehor painfully exclaims, "This nightmare will never end!"
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "We are your family now, Socius."
Naamit places her hand on her asymmetric girdle.
Naamit shifts her weight.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Lynaera says, "You are not yourself. Merely a shadow of the man you were, without your memory."
You say, "Okay but we like you and we don't want you to fall prey to these bounty hunters."
Faerinn says, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb..."
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Akenna pleads, "Socius, please come home to the isle?"
Akenna removes a wristcuff of latticed-carved wyrwood from her wrist.
Naamit takes off a small iron stickpin.
A cloaked figure stares for a long moment at Juspera, then nods slowly. "Bounty hunters are a problem... I have no wish to start another war at this time."
Nehor scratches his right earlobe with his right thumb. He is a fellow member of the Council of Light.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, you ask, "Can you believe that we have known you for a while, and admire you, and still want to look out for you?"
Naamit indicates a small iron stickpin as a possible option.
Faerinn says, "Our chosen bonds can carry us when our familiar ones cannot."
Nehor exclaims, "Stick it in him!"
Faerinn whispers, "The best arm."
You growl at Nehor.
You nod slowly at Faerinn.
Speaking encouragingly to Naamit, Nehor slurs, "Right in!"
A cloaked figure slowly creeps one hand towards a small pouch secreted away beneath the folds of its cloak.
Nehor points at a cloaked figure.
>l fig
The figure looks just like a figure should.
Naamit purposefully takes a few steps toward a cloaked figure.
Nehor exclaims, "He's got a...pouch!"
Naamit says, "Now come. Let me put this on you."
Traiva gazes at a cloaked figure.
A pungent, coppery odor is carried in by a breeze from the grasslands.
Naamit glances between a cloaked figure and a small iron stickpin.
A cloaked figure carefully asks, "You... you have trinkets... that let you travel... to this Isle?"
Naamit nods firmly to the cloaked figure.
Naamit says, "We do indeed."
Akenna nods to the cloaked figure.
Faerinn nods to the cloaked figure.
Nehor takes a drink from his mint on the rum. Nehor looks rather relaxed.
Traiva nods to the cloaked figure.
Lynaera whispers something to Akenna.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We can offer you use of one."
Faerinn says, "And we'd all surely offer you ours."
Faerinn glances at Nehor.
Licel slides a silver band off his finger.
Nehor exclaims, "Not me!"
Faerinn says, "Most of us."
Nehor exclaims, "Mine is mine!"
You say, "Yes. It gives you a stomach-twisting sensation to use them, you might end up remembering it."
A cloaked figure slowly draws out a small obsidian ring, gaze remaining straight ahead.
Licel glances at a silver band in his hand.
Licel glances at Faerinn.
Licel shrugs.
Faerinn says, "Mine is a rainbow."
Akenna blinks at a cloaked figure.
Licel slides a silver band onto his finger.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit reminds, "You promised that ring to Ceyrin Feynde."
Traiva taps a four-petalled violet sapphire pin, which is in her right hand.
A cloaked figure mutters, "This ring... it has a power, of a sort..."
You cock your head at a cloaked figure.
Nehor traces a sign that contorts in the air while he forcefully incants a dark invocation...
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn asks, "Is that your trinket to travel there?"
You are now in an offensive stance. Be at peace my child, there is no need to fight here.
You cast a warning glance at Nehor.
A cloaked figure tilts the ring, and a scintillatinig nimbus momentarily surrounds it.
Licel glances at Nehor.
Naamit urges, "Put it on..."
Naamit nods firmly to the cloaked figure.
You fidget.
A cloaked figure slides the ring onto a finger, and the figure disappears in a shower of sparks!
You gasp.
Licel smiles sweetly.
Akenna nods.
Nehor worriedly exclaims, "Quick let's run!"
You survey the area.
Naamit says, "To the isle with us."
Back to the Isle
Faerinn stands up.
Traiva nods.
Nehor stands up.
Naamit looses a ghastly, keening wail!
Naamit skillfully begins to weave another verse into her harmony.
Naamit sings a song of revelry, bringing to life the memories of such wonderous merrymaking that you feel as though you never left so long ago. Visions of the drink and the dance fill your mind. Your vision blurs, your surroundings shift and you suddenly realize you are not quite where you were before!
[Raging Thrak Inn, Dining Room]
Loud and abusive noises emanate from behind the swinging kitchen doors, much to the laughing delight of some of the customers, and to the chagrin of others. Tapestries hanging from the walls depict soothing idyllic wildlife scenes. Hard wooden tables and chairs are placed evenly, allowing enough space for the cook and wait servants to pass. You also see a sullen lake spirit that is flying around, an annoyed luck spirit that is flying around, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a ritual dagger, a cozy nook and some inviting tables.

Obvious exits: south, southwest
Lynaera pulls Nehor closer to herself.
A black-eared red and grey fox pads in.
Akenna nods.
Naamit touches her small iron stickpin and gives a slight shudder. A blood red mist surrounds her as her skin begins to peel from her body in thin strips. As the flayed skin unravels, the muscles, tendons, and ligaments beneath begin to unwind and vanish in to the crimson cloud around her. A final shudder runs through the cloud, and it vanishes with a faint popping sound.
A brisk breeze begins to swirl around Nehor's hand as he turns his armband. The winds quickly surround Nehor, enveloping him in a shroud of mist and lifting him slightly off the ground. You catch the faint echo of a hawk's cry as the winds fade away, taking Nehor with them.
A sudden breeze picks up around Akenna, blowing dozens of crumpled brown, verdant green, and burnt orange leaves around her body. Lashed together by small vines, the leaves quickly cover her entire body, and a bright flash emanates from within the leafy cocoon. The breeze ceases as quickly as it began, and the cocoon of foliage falls to the ground and vanishes in puffs of grey smoke, leaving no trace of Akenna.
Wisps of red light rise above Faerinn forming a semi-circular pattern. The wisps solidify into a single ray and then expand into a rainbow of light that shrouds him totally until his form becomes indistinguishable from that of the rainbow. Within an instant, the rainbow fades, and Faerinn is gone.
Rising on the air, the sound of horses' clip-clopping hooves greets your ears, and within seconds you recognize the source as a pair of ghostly horses surrounded by a blue nimbus. They draw a black lacquered coach behind them and stop before Traiva, who steps into the small, wheeled wooden box and closes the door behind her. Neighing once, the horses ride off, pulling the coach behind them.
Licel's eyes glaze over and he turns pale. In the space between moments, his body grows more and more translucent until you realize he is no longer there!
With a gut-wrenching twist, you feel turned inside out as everything goes black. You feel disconnected from your body as you run towards a bright light at the end of a long tunnel and then realize you are elsewhere.
[Gardenia Commons]
The soft, soothing sound of the carved marble fountain that dominates Gardenia Commons breaks the omnipresent silence of night. Bright moonlight dapples the area in a silvery glow and reflects off the water pouring into the fountain, causing ripples of ethereal light to dance across the mist that clings to the cobblestone street. A light, thin layer of dew glistens on the wrought iron benches that encircle the fountain. You also see the translucent Tolwyr disk and a wide-mouthed wicker basket.

A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Traiva.
Lady in Waiting Lynaera just arrived.
Grand Lord Licel just arrived.
Naamit says, "Just one more..."
You belt out, "Faerinn?"
Nehor drunkenly moans, "Wait, no...we're gonna go back to him aren't we?!"
Mistress Naamit's group just went west.
[Gardenia Lane]
Various hues of blue, green, and purple ribbons sway in the gentle breeze, draping from the posts of the illuminated lanterns that line both sides of the street. The golden lamplight creates circles around the base of each post, spreading outwards until it blends into the silvery moonlight that dapples everything else.

[Gardenia and Daisy Avenue]
Moonlight pours down, dappling the silver and gold-edged banners that billow out from the tall lampposts that line the street. Light catches along their edges and glints off the surface, creating a shimmering reflection across the buildings. Set outside the door of one shop are several large wooden baskets, the white flowers housed within them glistening in the ambient light. Moisture clings to the evening air, causing it to feel cooler than it is.

Akenna gestures at a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain.
Akenna hurls a stream of water at a vaalin-bound mist grey shard suspended from a rusty indigo chain!
The water scours the mist grey shard clean.
Just a little bit missing here. Akenna gives the shard back to Juspera and Traiva locates Faerinn.
Mistress Naamit's group just went into a shingled and ramshackle tavern.
[Scuttlebug Tavern] Rough oak planks spread from the entry at one end of the room to the dinghy-shaped bar that is surrounded by stools at the other, their slender surfaces riddled with large and small knots. High above, a chandelier housing dozens of candles provides ample illumination for each of the various tables that are scattered throughout, while also illuminating the various signs that hang from the rafters. A rickety staircase leads to the upstairs and connects with a balcony that encircles half of the tavern.

Traiva says, "An upstairs hallway."
Faerinn just climbed down a rickety knotty pine staircase.
Faerinn just went out.
Naamit says, "The Oculus."
Nehor flails his arms about.
Naamit glances out.
Naamit growls something vile beneath her breath.
Akenna giggles.
Mistress Naamit's group just climbed up a rickety knotty pine staircase.

Plain and unadorned, the western wall of the hallway has a pair of doors set into its smooth facing, one of knotty oak and the other of driftwood. Directly opposite the entries is a railing that overlooks the common room below, which culminates in a rickety knotty pine staircase leading down.

You belt out, "Faerinn!"
Licel glances around the room.
Faerinn just climbed up a rickety knotty pine staircase.
You ask, "Did he go to the Commons?"
Naamit gently takes hold of Faerinn's hand.
You say, "Oh."
Traiva points at Faerinn.
Lynaera nods.
(Nehor runs around in a panic, stumbling drunkenly as he is herded along.)
Faerinn asks, "Is he in the Occulus?"
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a rough knotty oak door.
[Scuttlebug Tavern, Red Room]
Cozy, yet practical, the tiny bedroom is devoid of decorations and houses a single featherbed that is covered with faded red quilts. Standing opposite the open knotty oak door and resting beside the room's lone window is a slender oak dry sink filled with basic cleaning essentials. You also see a reinforced grate.
Also here: Flockmaster Nehor, Akenna, Chatelaine Traiva, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Grand Lord Licel, Faerinn, Mistress Naamit
Obvious exits: none
Licel glances at Nehor.
Faerinn says, "That's where I was heading."
Faerinn's spirits are no longer lifted.
Traiva pulls Nehor closer to herself.
Naamit says, "That is what I wanted to find out."
Naamit says, "I'll look and be right back."
Akenna nods slowly.
Naamit steps through the reinforced grate.
The sense of peace and security begins to wane from the area.
Licel gazes heavenward.
From nearby, you hear Naamit yell, "SOCIUS!"
Licel glances at Nehor.
Faerinn steps through the reinforced grate.
Licel rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Nehor winces.
Akenna steps through the reinforced grate.
You say, "I bet he just ran into the jungle."
Nehor whines, "Don't...tell him where we are!"
Traiva steps through the reinforced grate.
Faerinn just arrived.
Akenna just arrived.
Lynaera gazes thoughtfully at a reinforced grate.
Speaking quietly to Nehor, Licel coos, "There, there."
Mistress Naamit's group just arrived.

Cozy, yet practical, the tiny bedroom is devoid of decorations and houses a single featherbed that is covered with faded red quilts. Standing opposite the open knotty oak door and resting beside the room's lone window is a slender oak dry sink filled with basic cleaning essentials. Naamit mumbles something under her breath.
Faerinn says, "We could try scrying him again."
Speaking to Nehor, Licel asks, "You would be safe, here, yes?"
Licel glances around the room.
You say, "I mean, if you were him, and didn't remember anything, and just wanted freedom..."
Speaking to Licel, Nehor asks, "Here?"
Nehor surveys the area.
Nehor blinks.
Speaking warmly to Nehor, Licel suggests, "Yes. Here."
Licel nods.
You ask, "Wouldn't you just run into the jungle?"
Nehor worriedly says, "If he's back we're never safe."
Nehor gulps.
You scowl at Nehor.
Faerinn says, "The fact that he used it might be enough."
Lynaera suggests, "The grave, or perhaps the jungle."
Speaking sternly to Nehor, Traiva says, "Shush."
Naamit says, "Grave, first."
Licel smiles sweetly.
Faerinn says, "But we should be thorough."
Faerinn nods.
Traiva put a verdant green wisp-shaped bottle in her sheer silk cloak.
You say, "I mean I guess it wouldn't hurt to check the grave."
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a rough knotty oak door.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "It looks like he's forgotten you, besides you're..."
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a freshly-laid pathway.
[Mist Harbor Cemetery, Obelisk]
This quiet corner of the small cemetery looks freshly-cleared, and backs up directly against a sheer cliff face. A small obelisk is placed in the center of the space, fashioned from wide bands of onyx and ivory, and engraved with a simple inscription. Directly in front of the obelisk is an onyx pedestal, and a small podium. You also see a freshly-laid pathway leading back towards the cemetery's entrance, a freshly unearthed grave and some muddy dirt piles.
Also here: Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Faerinn, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Flockmaster Nehor, Mistress Naamit

Traiva says, "He was there."
Traiva says, "We passed him."
>l grav
The marshy ground has been recently dug up, as is evidenced by the clear outline of shovel-heads on both walls of the gaping hole. Rather deep, the hole is startlingly empty, and is only discernible as a grave due to its rectangular shape and the locale in which it is located. A small rivulet of water trickles into the bottom of the grave from a source in the muddy wall, forming a murky puddle.
>l in grav
There is nothing in the grave.
Naamit asks, "What?"
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a freshly-laid pathway leading back towards the cemetery's entrance.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna continues, "You're harmless now."
[Western Harbor, Seathrak Way]
Cobblestones laid in concentric bands spread across the plaza from the four avenues that meet here and wrap around an enormous sandstone fountain. Glass-sided lanterns burn brightly from their position on wrought iron posts set at each intersection, their pleasant glow cheerily illuminating the area. You also see the Greng disk, a cloaked figure, a flower-strewn pale blue cart with some stuff on it, a short fur-garbed gnome, the ship-shaped Merlittle disk, the Fozi disk, a jet black panther, the Findarel disk, a hummingbird feather, a small snack cart, a lacquered oak barrel and a lengthy curved bench around the perimeter of the plaza.

Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Come with us."
You say, "Uh... uh..."
Traiva calmly flutters her wings at the figure in time to an unheard rhythm.
Nehor wails!
Nehor flails his arms about.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Faerinn says, "Weclome home, Socius."
Licel takes a moment to observe a cloaked figure.
The red and grey fox barks.
A cloaked figure warily nods to Naamit, maintaining a careful distance.
Nehor cowers away from a cloaked figure.
Mistress Naamit's group just went northeast.
[Western Harbor, Fishmonger Way]
Small and large cottages line the cobblestone street and are surrounded by bright pink dog roses and verdant beach grass. Wrought iron posts, their lamp faces brightly lit from the fires burning within them, mark the entry to each home. One end of the street empties out into a central plaza, while the other culminates in a tiny cemetery ringed by a simple white picket fence.

A cloaked figure just arrived.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "We have something to show you."
Lynaera looks at Naamit with concern.
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a scrollwork wrought iron gate.
[Western Harbor, Cemetery]
Dark shadows, created by the cliff above, lay across the tombstones and markers that line the simple, crushed seashell pathway as it winds its way through the cemetery. Pale pink and white blossoms litter the ground, strewn haphazardly by the errant sea breezes which have tugged them free of the dogwoods that punctuate the four corners of the tiny lot. You also see a freshly-laid pathway and a scrollwork wrought iron gate.
Also here: Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Faerinn, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Flockmaster Nehor, Mistress Naamit

Akenna says, "Oh... Ah--"
Akenna clears her throat.
Nehor hopefully asks, "We going to put him back in?"
You kick Nehor!
Traiva pokes Nehor in the ribs.
Nehor wails!
Nehor whimpers.
Naamit says, "He seems hesitant."
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a freshly-laid pathway.
Speaking to Nehor, Akenna says, "I swear I will burn you."
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a scrollwork wrought iron gate.

A cloaked figure glances around.
You smile at the figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Hmpf."
Akenna says, "So... I haven't had a chance to clean up."
Akenna says, "Yet.."
Akenna grins weakly.
Speaking softly to a cloaked figure, Traiva says, "Please follow us.."
Lynaera's shoulders shake subtly as she turns away from Akenna, while struggling to compose her features, revealing a glimmer of mirth before returning to a poker face.
A cloaked figure notes, "This is... a place for the dead..."
Traiva quietly murmurs, "And ignore the loudmouth."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "Precisely, and you are not dead in it."
Naamit points at a freshly-laid pathway.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We sort of... figured that out."
You say, "I mean. It's interesting but I'm not sure it's going to jog his memory since he'd have no memory of it."
You ask, "Would he?"
Akenna says, "When I dug up your memorial..."
Akenna rocks back on her heels.
Speaking to you, Naamit asks, "Would he?"
You blink at Naamit.
Naamit slowly empties her lungs.
Naamit says, "Perhaps Greth would help."
Faerinn says, "Your mentor Selbi arranged a ruse to try and keep you safe."
You say, "Oh yeah."
Naamit says, "Come, let's visit the tavern."
You quickly say, "But, I mean."
Speaking carefully to a cloaked figure, Lynaera says, "We all thought you were dead, many months ago. A service was held for you, attended by many."
A cloaked figure warily mutters, "My... memorial?"
You say, "Does he really need to regain his memories? We could just let him live in the jungle in peace."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Nehor says, "It wasn't as final as we'd have liked."
Nehor grumbles.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "We thought you were... dead. Selbi said you were."
Traiva pokes Nehor in the ribs.
Lynaera whispers, "He is no use to us, without his memories."
Akenna says, "But.. then we found out you weren't."
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "Why do we need to use him?"
The red and grey fox raises his ears, glancing around the area.
Speaking to Traiva, Nehor complains, "I am not a...poke person!"
Lynaera whispers, "And only a danger. A feral beast."
A cloaked figure tilts its head to one side, muttering quietly. "Selbi...?"
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "Fine, fine."
You say, "Yeah she's about this high."
(Juspera puts her hand down by her knee.)
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "Shrill gnome, your former teacher."
Speaking shrilly to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "The one who complained at length."
You say, "Shrill voice... I'm sure Nehor can imitate it."
You kick Nehor!
Faerinn says, "A shrill, gnomish woman. She was your mentor."
Nehor whimpers.
Naamit says, "Let us go to Greth's. Follow us."
Naamit nods once to the cloaked figure.
Akenna just opened a darkened leather case.
Lynaera says, "SKilled in illusions, and elaborate deceptions, apparently."
A cloaked figure nods slowly.
Mistress Naamit's group just went through a scrollwork wrought iron gate.
A reunion
Mistress Naamit's group just went into a ramshackle brown-shingled store.
[Stumbling Pebble Bar II]
Dried, cracked boards mingle with newer knotted pine planks as they spread across the floor from the swinging oak doors to the white oak bar. Several half-cask chairs are arranged in circles around the room, their backs weathered and cracked, while plump couches face a fireplace that looks as if it has seen better days. A scattering of cracked peanut shells litters the floor around an oversized bowl that is set upon a faded blue rug. You also see a wide-mouthed mahogany barrel, a series of high barstools, a basket of sticks, Greth and a crooked rectangular mirror hung on the wall.
Also here: Grand Lord Licel, Chatelaine Traiva, Akenna, Faerinn, Lady in Waiting Lynaera, Flockmaster Nehor, Mistress Naamit

Akenna removes a faded rubbing from in her leather case.
Lynaera nods in greeting to Greth.
A cloaked figure just arrived.
Traiva flutters her wings at Greth.
Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "We have a good friend coming."
You shift your weight.
A cloaked figure stares around, putting its back to one wall warily.
Akenna shows a cloaked figure her faded rubbing.
You glance between a cloaked figure and Greth.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit says, "You made it like you knew the place from muscle memory. I commend you."
(Faerinn gestures at Greth with both hands.)
Speaking to Greth, Naamit asks, "Greth, friend. Tell this man who he is?"
Naamit points at a cloaked figure.
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Akenna says, "She wrote this to you."
Speaking to a cloaked figure, Naamit coaxes, "Remove your hood."
Faerinn says, "You know each other, but I will introduce you again."
A cloaked figure notes faintly, "I... some things feel familiar... but there are no details."
Traiva removes a stein of rosy hibiscus metheglin from in her sheer silk cloak.
Faerinn says, "This is Greth."
Faerinn nods to Greth.
Traiva shows a cloaked figure her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
Traiva asks, "Metheglin?"
Naamit removes an ebon-handled lavender teacup from in her lambswool cloak.
(Faerinn gestures at the cloaked figure.)
Naamit takes a drink from her lavender teacup.
Licel softly urges, "Trust, and the details will follow."
Speaking quickly to a cloaked figure, you say, "We're not trying to get you drunk."
Greth squints hard at the cloaked figure.
Naamit nods in agreement at Licel.
Faerinn says, "Greth...this is Socius Leffien of Mist Harbor."
Akenna visibly whispers to the group, "We're going to need, I think to use magic to get him his memories back."
Faerinn nods to the cloaked figure.
Greth mutters, "Socius?"
Nehor takes a drink from his mint on the rum. Nehor looks rather relaxed.
Akenna visibly whispers to the group, "Mental magics, possibly."
Traiva visibly whispers to the group, "I truly wish I could heal wounds without taking them onto myself.."
Socius glances at Greth.
Speaking to Greth, Naamit asks, "Weren't you just telling me the other day how you thought his presence was preferred?"
Traiva nods slowly to Greth.
Lynaera whispers to the group, "If they cannot be recovered, remember that he is very dangerous. A threat to the isle, even."
Naamit turns to face Socius.
Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "Yeah, there was never anything in that grave, and he might need a place to stay. He's a bit jumbled and needs help recovering."
Naamit smiles at Socius.
You glance at Traiva.
Licel raises an eyebrow in Lynaera's direction.
Speaking quietly to Greth, Socius says, "You... I know you..."
Akenna visibly whispers to the group, "If it comes to that, we'll do what we must, but I would rather we try."
Lynaera whispers to the group, "Of course."
Licel nods.
Faerinn nods at Socius.
Greth nods slowly, an odd tone coming into his voice, "That you do, Master Socius. You've gone far afield, but you've found your way back home, and we've kept it for you in your absence."
Faerinn nods to Greth.
Speaking to Greth, Naamit suggests, "Remind him of himself, he's at a loss."
Socius blinks.
Naamit whispers something to Socius.
You ponder the meaning of Socius's existence.
You see Socius Leiffen.
He appears to be a Human.
He is plain-looking in every regard save his eyes, and has a huge scar running the length of his right cheek and down across the front of his neck. He appears to be in the prime of life. He has piercing light green eyes and deeply tanned skin. He has a bald head. He has an intense face and a narrow nose.
He is in good shape.
He is wearing a worn leather cloak, a stained leather tunic, a sleek leather pouch, some sturdy leather trousers, and a pair of black leather boots.
Akenna asks, "You knew?"
Akenna peers quizzically at Greth.
Greth grunts wryly, his voice returning to its normal growl as he chortles, "Tis good to see ye ag'in, ah can tell ye that!"
Socius slowly empties his lungs.
You grin slowly.
Nehor grumbles.
You glance between Socius and Greth.
Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "You're home."
Faerinn beams!
Socius quietly says, "I... it is all so... murky..."
Faerinn beams happily at Nehor!
Socius closes his eyes for a moment.
You nod slowly.
Nehor scowls.
You say, "Sometimes it's best that way."
Speaking gently to Socius, Traiva says, "Sometimes memory is like that."
Akenna glances at a faded rubbing in her hand.
Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "I'd order you a water, but the smell got better..."
Naamit whispers something to Licel.
Greth leans on the bar, a snaggletoothed grin splitting his face. "We thought ye were dead! There was a service an' everythin'!"
Naamit winks at Licel and flashes a sly grin.
Traiva gently says, "But a bright spot can spark more, and more."
Licel agrees with Naamit.
You nervously whisper aloud, "Um are we... still going to do the... decoy bounty?"
Socius absently says, "So I hear..."
You casually glance around the room.
Akenna says, "Oh right."
Nehor takes a drink from his mint on the rum.
Akenna casually glances at Licel.
Socius hesitantly says, "I... I need... some time..."
A pained expression crosses Socius's face.
Naamit leans on Licel.
Naamit settles her gaze on Socius, watching him intently.
Faerinn carefully placed some greasy pale red broth on a cask-faced white oak bar.
Licel takes a moment to observe Socius.
Speaking to Greth, Akenna asks, "Could he stay here maybe?"
Juspera smiles hopefully at Socius.
Faerinn nods to some greasy pale red broth.
Faerinn exclaims, "Now, that's still the same!"
Speaking to Socius, Lynaera says, "There is much to process, to be sure."
Faerinn says, "Terrible."
You chuckle at Faerinn.
Naamit offers, "If not here, I will see him a room over at Scuttlebug."
Greth bellows, "A'course he kin stay here! Zofiya'n him'll get along like a pair o' toads with rubber backsides!"
You snicker.
Socius blinks.
Socius blinks.
Naamit scoffs.
Naamit nods approvingly to Greth.
You carefully examine Socius's physique and figure he weighs about 267 pounds.
Akenna grins.
Socius slowly says, "I.... that is..."
Traiva calmly flutters her wings at Socius to an unheard rhythm.
Faerinn whispers to the group, "The Landing kind of is relying on me for any information about Socius. If I suddenly stop giving them truthful answers their hunt will fall apart."
Naamit places her hand on her asymmetric girdle.
Naamit shifts her weight.
Greth nods firmly. "Ah'll watch over him. Thank ye all for findin' him, an' bringin' him home."
Speaking comfortingly to Socius, Licel mutters, "It does sound comfortable."
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "We trust Greth, I'd trust him with my life."
Akenna grins at Socius.
You whisper, "Okay but can we just kill Licel anyway?" to your group.
Naamit whispers to the group, "Obfuscation has its place."
Licel glances at you.
Licel blinks.
Akenna fidgets.
You surreptitiously glance at Licel.
Socius slowly says, "It would... appear... that this might be a good idea... at least while I get my bearings..."
Lynaera whispers to the group, "Perhaps Socius merely..escaped."
Naamit nods approvingly at Socius.
Akenna nods eagerly.
Socius closes his eyes for a moment.
Speaking amusedly to Socius, Naamit mentions, "Don't drink the broth."
Akenna gives Socius a strong, encouraging smile.
Licel mumbles something under his breath.
Akenna says, "Oh yes, don't drink the broth."
Traiva smiles encouragingly at Socius.
Faerinn says, "But a whiff of it might jarr some memories loose."
Socius quietly says, "I... regret that I do not recall any of our... history. But I thank you all the same."
Socius bows slowly.
Faerinn bows to Socius.
You beam!
Naamit nods with satisfaction at Socius.
Naamit and Socius shake hands.
Nehor scowls.
Licel put a crimson-veined ebon dawn surita runestaff in his blackthorn pack.
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "Hopefully, with time."
Speaking smoothly to Socius, Naamit says, "Welcome home, friend."
Socius quietly states, "For now... I would... like to rest, I think."
Faerinn nods at Socius.
Akenna nods understandingly at Socius.
Speaking gently to Socius, Traiva says, "Yes, you should."
Socius blushes slightly.
You nod.
Naamit curls one side of her lips up into a furtive, playful smirk.
Licel agrees with Socius.
Faerinn says, "Life on the run is not an easy one."
Speaking to Socius, Lynaera says, "Rest, and come speak with us when you are ready."
You say, "It's good to have you back."
Nehor waspishly says, "I need to go as well. Important...important business."
Nehor grumbles.
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "Thank you, for listening to us."
Nehor turns around.
Speaking gently to Socius, Traiva says, "It has been a long... few months."
(Nehor storms off.)
Lynaera whispers something to Nehor.
Nehor just left.
Greth rumbles, "Got a good cot all ready for ye, Socius. Ye kin sleep all ye need, and have no fear of anyone disturbin' ye."
Socius nods slowly.
Socius hesitantly says, "I will... see how I feel when rested... and fed."
Speaking softly to Greth, Traiva says, "You will take good care of him."
Akenna nods.
Naamit nods once.
Socius gives the smallest of smiles.
Licel nods slowly at Socius.
Traiva calmly flutters her wings at Socius to an unheard rhythm.
Akenna flashes a wide grin at Socius.
Traiva removes a verdant green wisp-shaped bottle from in her sheer silk cloak.
Licel smiles sweetly.
Speaking to Socius, Naamit says, "Thank you for trusting us."
You bounce around happily.
Socius quietly says, "Thank you again. It... is good to be... home, I think."
Speaking to Socius, Traiva says, "Here, keep this."
Akenna nods.
Traiva offers Socius a verdant green wisp-shaped bottle.
Faerinn grins at Socius.
Socius accepts Traiva's wisp-shaped bottle.
Socius sniffs delicately at a verdant green wisp-shaped bottle.
Traiva softly says, "It has the scent of the jungle."
Akenna offers Socius a faded rubbing.
You say, "Okay and also maybe we can come talk to you later like in a week or so."
Socius accepts Akenna's faded rubbing.
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "Here..."
Socius glances at a faded rubbing in his hand.
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "I feel like you should have this."
Socius stares at his faded rubbing.
Akenna says, "It was from Selbi."
Naamit brushes her fingers lightly against her glaes bracelet.
Akenna says, "Her last to you, I think."
Socius closes his eyes for a moment.
Akenna says, "Maybe it will help."
Socius hesitantly says, "I try, but there's just... nothing there."
Akenna just closed a darkened leather case.
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "Don't worry."
Socius tiredly says, "Perhaps with time, and rest."
Speaking to Socius, Naamit says, "Give it time."
Speaking to Socius, Akenna says, "It will come."
Naamit nods once.
Akenna nods in agreement at Socius.
Speaking reassuringly to Socius, Licel coos, "Rest. Wait."
Licel nods.
Akenna just opened a hooded red velvet cloak.
Naamit touches Licel.
Speaking softly to Socius, Traiva says, "Any bright flickers of memory.. hold onto them as best you can."
Traiva softly says, "The rest will come."
Akenna nods in agreement at Traiva.
Socius quietly says, "I thank you again... and I will take my leave. I will seek you out in the coming days, that perhaps some of this fog might be lifted."
You shift your weight.
You nod vigorously at Socius!
Faerinn nods at Socius.
Akenna nods at Socius.
Lynaera nods graciously at Socius.
Speaking to Socius, Faerinn says, "I look forward to it."
Socius slips through a small door behind the bar as Greth grins widely.
You turn to face Greth.
Faerinn slowly empties his lungs.
Traiva flutters her wings at Greth.
Greth grunts happily.
Speaking to Greth, Akenna says, "Thank you, Greth."
Speaking to Greth, Naamit says, "Thank you."
Speaking softly to Greth, Traiva repeats, "Take good care of him."
Speaking to Greth, Faerinn says, "Yes, thank you."
Speaking to Greth, Lynaera says, "Well done."
Greth notes, "Ye did good... real good. Thank ye."
Faerinn leans against a wide-mouthed mahogany barrel.
Faerinn sighs.
Licel agrees with Greth.
Traiva rests a gentle hand on Faerinn's arm.
Faerinn nods at Akenna.
You say, "Thank you Greth."
You say, "Everybody let's have a drink."
Akenna grins at Faerinn.
You say, "I mean a toast."
You raise your smoky copper whiskey in a toast!
Akenna rummages around in her pockets.
Greth snickers loudly, "Zofiya should be back soon... Ah should sell tickets!"
You blink at Greth.
Akenna giggles.
Speaking gently to Faerinn, Traiva says, "You did well, Barrister."
Naamit says, "Well now, being a fugitive in the Landing myself, I should probably tread lightly..."
Naamit surreptitiously glances around the room.
Akenna nods in agreement at Naamit.
Speaking to Naamit, Traiva says, "I never saw you."
Faerinn spends some time haggling with Greth Rottgut.
Naamit disbands her group.
Final thoughts
Traiva grins impishly.
Akenna says, "Those stocks look mean."
Licel agrees with Traiva.
Speaking to Naamit, Lynaera asks, "Would my scroll be of use?"
You say, "Wait what about the decoy bounty? We still have to do that."
Akenna says, "Oh.."
You fidget.
Akenna removes an ethereal pendant from in her red velvet cloak.
Naamit says, "I'll leave you all to your machinations."
Akenna put an ethereal pendant in her red velvet cloak.
Faerinn says, "I'll tell them the reapers got him and there was nothing left."
Licel blinks.
Speaking to Lynaera, Naamit says, "I have my bases covered."
You say, "But why."
Licel glances at you.
Licel frowns.
Lynaera nods once at Naamit.
You say, "We could make it so much more convincing."
You furtively glance at Licel.
Naamit says, "Oh, that's right."
Naamit turns to face Licel.
Naamit removes a reinforced invar razor from in her black leather bag.
Akenna says, "We could..."
You nod eagerly at Naamit.
Faerinn says, "That's up to the, priest."
Faerinn nods at Licel.
Naamit purposefully strides over to stand before Licel.
Licel turns to face Naamit.
Greth grins wide, his eyes going momentarily serious, then lets loose a harsh back of laughter and, shaking his head, turns back to the bar.
Licel slowly empties his lungs.
Licel narrows his eyes.
Licel seems to be waiting for something.
You ask, "We can give his head to Cordarius right?"
Naamit frowns.
Naamit says, "Traiva, do this thing."
Naamit offers Traiva a reinforced invar razor.
Traiva asks, "Me?"
Traiva accepts Naamit's invar razor.
Naamit nods firmly at Traiva.
Licel glances at Traiva.
Faerinn takes a drink from his Incandescent vodka. Faerinn looks rather relaxed.
Akenna says, "Should we kill him to make him look like a corpse of Socius."
Licel turns to face Traiva.
Traiva put a stein of rosy hibiscus metheglin in her sheer silk cloak.
Speaking to Akenna, Naamit says, "Precisely my plan."
Naamit nods.
Traiva moves to stand in front of Licel.
You ask, "I mean. Does his body look like Socius's body, do you think?"
Licel hisses.
Traiva quietly murmurs, "I have yet to kill anyone with one of these yet.."
You say, "A head is safer. Like just cut his head off."
(Licel narrows his eyes to mere slits, turning his cheek to Traiva.)
Traiva clasps Licel's hand tenderly.
Speaking to Traiva, Licel says, "Reassuring."
Traiva points her invar razor at Licel, beginning to mar him.
Traiva cuts into Licel's flesh with her invar razor, marring him with a crooked scar across his right cheek. Traiva applies some first aid to Licel, mending the wound!
Faerinn says, "Anything to help my ruse will help."
You say, "We might have to round his tongue off too, it looks really weird."
Speaking to Traiva, you say, "Just take a little off the end of his tongue."
Naamit's shoulders shake subtly as she turns away from you, while struggling to compose her features, revealing a glimmer of mirth before returning to a poker face.
Speaking to Licel, Naamit assures, "It will grow back."
Licel gazes heavenward.
Speaking to Licel, Traiva explains, "It is a joke at Paupers, that I initiate new members by cutting off their ears."
Traiva flashes a quick grin.
You feel the blood drain from your face.
(Licel tugs at his ear.)
Akenna gasps, "What?"
Licel quickly assures, "That does not seem so necessary, here."
Licel smacks his lips.
Traiva nods in agreement at Licel.
Traiva offers Naamit a reinforced invar razor.
Faerinn says, "But keep in mind the one councilman doesn't understand common, one is a horny idiot, one is blind, and I haven't met the woman. She's probably the hardest sale."
Naamit accepts Traiva's invar razor.
Speaking to Traiva, Naamit says, "Your assistance is appreciated."
Speaking amusedly to you, Licel assures, "I will take care of the tongue on my own."
Naamit points at a crooked rectangular mirror hung on the wall.
Naamit nods encouragingly at Licel.
Traiva nods at Naamit.
Traiva says, "Of course."
Speaking to Licel, Naamit says, "Take a look."
Speaking to Licel, you say, "Okay I guess you could just bite it off."
Traiva examines Licel closely, sizing him up and taking note of all the details.
Licel takes a few steps toward a crooked rectangular mirror hung on the wall.
Speaking to Naamit, you say, "Okay now cut his head off."
Licel gazes at his reflection in the rectangular mirror.
Licel nods slowly.
Speaking thoughtfully to a crooked rectangular mirror hung on the wall, Licel mentions, "The eyes."
Licel raises an eyebrow.
Licel says, "That can be adjusted, as well."
Akenna says, "He looks like Socius if you'd never met Socius."
Traiva says, "No one notices the eyes."
You nod at Akenna.
Faerinn says, "So it's not the hardest crowd I have to convince."
Naamit agrees with Akenna.
You say, "I agree, all things considered he's very close."
You chuckle at Faerinn.
Akenna nods.
Licel strikes a heroic pose.
Naamit and Licel shake hands.
Licel warmly confirms, "Very close indeed."
Licel nods.
Speaking to Licel, Akenna says, "Thank you for doing this."
Speaking jokingly to Licel, Naamit greets, "The Fist. Good evening."
Licel smiles weakly.
Speaking to Licel, Akenna says, "We appreciate your help."
Speaking to Licel, Naamit says, "Fashion yourself some daggers."
You shift your weight.
Licel asks, "Of any particular sort?"
Speaking to Licel, Traiva says, "I should like to meet you again some other time, when I am not being asked to slice into your flesh."
Licel removes a veil iron dagger from in his survival kit.
Lynaera whispers something to Akenna.
Licel smirks at Traiva.
>l lic
You see Grand Lord Licel Lotanfa.
He appears to be a Human.
He is average height. He appears to be an adult. He has piercing grey-green eyes and fair skin. He has a bald head. He has a crooked scar across his right cheek.
You catch glimpses of a long, forked tongue escaping from between his lips.
He is in good shape.
He is holding a veil iron dagger in his right hand.
He is wearing a cloak, a shirt, some pants, and some boots.
Speaking to Licel, Naamit says, "Eonake ones."
Speaking warmly to Traiva, Licel says, "I would welcome it."
You gaze with interest at Licel.
Licel nods at Traiva.
Licel nods at Naamit.
Traiva smiles at Licel.
Licel put a veil iron dagger in his survival kit.
Licel thoughtfully says, "Eonake..."
Licel rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Speaking to Licel, Naamit says, "I'll see if I can find you any in the meantime."
Licel nods approvingly at Naamit.
You ask, "Wait aren't we going to cut off his head?"
You fidget.
Licel smirks at you!
Naamit looks over at you and shakes her head.
You stare at Licel.
Traiva removes a stein of rosy hibiscus metheglin from in her sheer silk cloak.
You ask, "Why not??"
Speaking to you, Naamit says, "You are on your own there."
Speaking to you, Traiva says, "It is a handsome head."
Akenna whispers something to Lynaera.
Licel agrees with Traiva.
Traiva takes a drink from her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
Naamit says, "Now, it truly is time for me to go. Licel, I will send you some talking points on how to Act Like Socius."
You ask, "I mean what's the point of making him look like Socius if we can't turn in his head for the bounty?"
Naamit turns around.
Mistress Naamit just strode purposefully through a set of swinging oak doors.
You say, "It's probably a lot of money."
You say, "You know."
You shift your weight.
Licel gazes heavenward.
Speaking to you, Akenna says, "Maybe there will be a reward."
Speaking to Akenna, you exclaim, "Well that's what a bounty is!"
Traiva takes a drink from her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
Traiva takes a drink from her rosy hibiscus metheglin.
You gaze wistfully at Licel.
Licel thoughtfully says, "Of course..."
Faerinn says, "The towncouncil did put one out on him."
Licel looks thoughtfully at you.
Speaking sweetly to you, Licel suggests, "What if it could be... increased?"
You say, "We turn in his head. Get the money. And Socius lives happily ever after. Everybody wins."
You blink at Licel.
Licel raises an eyebrow in your direction.
Speaking to Licel, Faerinn says, "So you might need to lay low until its time. For...whatever the next part of the plan is."
Speaking to Licel, you say, "I guess if you attacked the town they might raise the bounty."
Speaking thoughtfully to you, Licel suggests, "Quite. Would it not make sense to maximize your earnings?"
You say, "Um."
You say, "Okay but I'm nervous."
Lynaera nods at Akenna.
You say, "Cause they might just forget about him now that he's not attacking anymore."
Speaking warmly to you, Licel reassures, "Oh, it will be fine."
Speaking to Licel, you say, "I would start raising an army."
You uncertainly say, "Okay."
Faerinn says, "The reapers are still coming."
Faerinn says, "Worse than ever actually."
Licel nods in agreement at Faerinn.
You say, "Oh."
You say, "Ugly things."
You shrug.
Faerinn says, "Flayed me three times this week."
You blink at Faerinn.
Lynaera frowns at Faerinn.
Speaking to Faerinn, you say, "You should just stay indoors."
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "How are you anyway."
Speaking to you, Faerinn exclaims, "I was!"
Speaking to you, Faerinn says, "Mostly."
You sigh.
Traiva softly says, "I should get ready to induct new members, having spoken of inductions."
You nod slowly.
Lynaera leans over and whispers, "Oh, I am quite well. I just observed several people assisting a man who murdered many innocents of the Landing. Certainly....this is valuable information, no?"
You stare at Lynaera.
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "Wait no!"
Speaking to Traiva, Faerinn says, "I hope a circlet of their ears is given at the topsy turvey ball this year."
Traiva laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "Okay but you can't tell anybody anything."
Lynaera winks at you and flashes a sly grin.
You mutter something inaudible.
Akenna snickers.
(Juspera flutters her hands at Traiva.)
Lynaera whispers, "And...why not?"
Speaking to Faerinn, Traiva says, "Well, I did promise Tolwynn I would stop cutting the ears off."
Traiva flashes a quick grin.
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "Because you like us too much."
You shudder.
Akenna says, "Good."
Faerinn chuckles.
You say, "They pretend they're going to cut your head off at Aspis inductions."
Akenna says, "Ears are... special."
You disappointedly say, "But they never do."
Lynaera whispers, "Ah. It is no fun to hit the issue directly on the head so soon."
You glance warily at Lynaera.
Lynaera raises an eyebrow in your direction.
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "All this talk about heads and so little beheading."
Lynaera whispers, "There are reavers in need of beheading, out afield."
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "I guess."
Lynaera whispers, "Merely...know that this would be considered 'dirt' on all of you, in many circles."
Lynaera says, "It is not something that should be spoken of lightly."
You quietly whisper to Lynaera, "You're trying to intimidate me!"
Lynaera whispers, "Is it working?"
You scowl at Lynaera.
