The Lens of Obfuscation is a fluff feature altering script that applies to miscellaneous items. It was originally released at Ebon Gate 2026. It can temporarily alter a character's distinguishing mark. Captures the likeness of a slain creature and lets you wear it as your distinguishing mark for up to four hours.
Analyze
Greetings, intrepid adventurer. You now hold your very own Lens of Obfuscation. This curious device may be used upon the corpse of a dead, searchable monster-like creature to temporarily assume aspects of its likeness as your distinguishing mark. This Lens is LOCKED for capturing the likeness of deceased monsters within it. The Lens can contain the likeness of up to 20 monsters within it. It currently has saved the likeness of 0 creatures. POINT the tube at a dead monster to absorb its essence into the tube. Use SHAKE to view which likeness is currently set for use. Use FLIP to switch between available monsters. Use GAZE to see a full list of which creatures' likenesses you have at your disposal. The Lens will temporarily change your appearance for up to four hours when activated via APPROVE, overwriting your existing distinguishing mark. To dismiss this change prematurely, please WAVE the Lens. Currently, the Lens has access to the following fluff verbs: PEER, BLINK, LICK, RUB, and KISS. It is currently LOCKED to use an expanded fluff verb set, including: OBSERVE, ROLL, TOSS, TINKER, and WHISTLE. A talented merchant may modify this Lens to your liking, but it must remain some manner of elongated wooden or metal tube that resembles a spyglass and can be worn upon one's belt.
