Polymorph Potions come in four different variants and are able to change the consumer's 1) name, 2) gender, 3) race, or 4) profession. All of these uses are permanent and irreversible except with another polymorph potion. Each potion may be purchased through SimuCoin Store.

Polymorph: Name

Sometimes we want a new identity. Perhaps you you chose a name that doesn't fit anymore. After a quick sip, you'll be whisked away to the Rename Pavilion to change your name. All former names will be listed in the PROFILE verb. Description: a round-bellied glass cruet of fizzy heliotrope liquid

Though the bottom of the glass cruet is flattened for stability, the body is bulbous and rounded, narrowing to a slender throat and stopped with a long cork. Within, translucent liquid of a heliotrope hue fizzes with a constant, rising stream of tiny bubbles.

Analyze:

The glass cruet is a Polymorph Potion. When consumed, it will allow you to permanently change your name. Other players will always be able to view your previous names in your PROFILE. This process is irreversible except with another polymorph potion.

Notes:

  • Use the NAMECHECK verb to check availability of a name before drinking the potion. Once consumed, you may select a new name or repick your existing name if you change your mind.
  • Once you select a new name, the old name is immediately available for any other player to select. If you wish to restrict the old name, you can create an alternate character with it.
  • You will be removed from all other characters' BEFRIEND lists.
  • The potion cannot be consumed in locations that block teleportation.
Verb First Third
DRINK You are swept away in a swirl of iridescence and find yourself elsewhere. Soandso vanishes in a swirl of iridescence.

Polymorph: Gender

Simply drink the vial and your gender will switch between male and female. Description: a blown glass vial of magenta liquid spiral-wrapped by gold wire

Crafted of crystal clear glass, the cylindrical vial holds a dollop of iridescent magenta liquid within its thin walls. A golden cap is fitted to its mouth, while dual strands of golden wire twine about the body of the diminutive vessel in a fanciful spiral.

Analyze:

The blown glass vial is a Polymorph Potion. When consumed, it will allow you to permanently change your gender. This process is irreversible except with another polymorph potion.

Notes:

  • Any items that were previously restricted by gender and do not include your new gender will no longer be usable.
  • Some items, such as tattoos, may have references to gender ("his" or "her") that do not update when changing gender. If you are affected, you may need to ASSIST to request the item be reviewed and potentially updated to resolve the issue.
Verb First Third
DRINK Prickling your tongue with its passage, the liquid fizzes and pops in your mouth, reminiscent of watered wine infused with liquid lightning. Its energy surges through your flesh in an electrifying wave, and you can feel your body changing in its wake. Eventually, feeling migrates to your extremities and fades, until only a tingling is left in your fingertips and toes. Threads of iridescent energy sweep across Soandso's body from head to toe, leaving him looking somewhat different than he did before.

Polymorph: Race

When consumed, you are then changed into the new race and your statistics are recalculated for the new race. Description: a square crystal flacon filled with bubbling vermilion liquid

Squat and square, the small flacon is formed of crystal clear lead glass. A dark-stained burlwood stopper corks its mouth, the curling grain drawing the eye and providing a visual echo of the constant flow of bubbles through the vermilion liquid within the vessel.

Analyze:

The crystal flacon is a Polymorph Potion. When consumed, it will allow you to permanently change your race. Use TURN to toggle between all available races. It is currently set to a human. This process is irreversible except with another polymorph potion.

Notes:

  • This does not include a FIXSTAT.
  • Any items that were previously restricted by race and do not include your new race will no longer be usable.
  • All character statistics are recalculated from level 0 based upon your new race.
  • Your character's age will set to the same percentage of your current age and your current race's maximum age in relation to your new race.  e.g. if a human character is 60 years old, that's 75% of the maximum human age, which is 80.  If they polymorphed into an elf, an elf's maximum age is 1,500, so 75% of that would be 1,000, and their new age would be 1,125 years old.  Your age descriptor ("appears to be in the meridian of life") stays the same, but is also relative to your race's maximum age.
  • Current culture is removed, but you are able to select a new one.
  • Citizenship is removed in all towns and must be earned again.
  • Crimson Legion membership is removed.
TURN You casually swirl the crystal flacon and a silhouette of a <race> briefly appears on the surface.

Polymorph: Profession

When consumed, you are then changed into the new profession and your statistics are recalculated for the new race. Description: a gold-bound pellucid glass phial filled with carmine liquid

Caged in an elegant latticework of wrought gold, the rounded phial is clear as crystal and possessed of a jeweled golden stopper. The translucent liquid contained within shades from brilliant carmine to a deep burgundy, and rosy reflections play along the curvature of the glass.

Analyze:

The pellucid glass phial is a Polymorph Potion. When consumed, it will allow you to permanently change your profession. Use TURN to toggle between all available professions. It is currently set to a warrior. This process is irreversible except with another polymorph potion.

Notes:

  • This does not include a FIXSTAT, but the two +10 Prime Requisite statistical bonuses are swapped from your old profession to your new profession.
  • Any items that were previously restricted by profession and do not include your new profession will no longer be usable.
  • All character statistics are recalculated from level 0 based upon your new profession.
  • All skills (Character Manager, Maneuvers, Shield, Armor, and Ascension) are untrained, but you regain all training points and must train again.
  • All guild training is removed.
  • Warrior (Weapon Bonding) and Paladin (Holy Weapon (1625)) weapons are no longer considered bonded.
  • All profession resources (normal and suffused for spells/abilities such as Enchant (925), Ensorcell (735), Warrior WPS (Grit), etc, are removed.
  • All spells are removed.
Verb First Third
DRINK Distantly, you taste a hint of sweetness, but your mind is racing, distracting you from such trivial sensations. Images flash through your mind, snippets of memory fading while other recollections surge to the fore. After what seems like an eternity and also merely a breath, your thoughts settle into patterns that are somehow simultaneously familiar and new. Soandso's eyes close and his expression grows distant. His eyelids twitch, rippling with the rapid movement of his eyes beneath. After only a moment, he releases a long exhalation and opens his eyes again.
TURN You casually swirl the pellucid glass phial and a silhouette of a <profession> briefly appears on the surface.
