The Captain's Cup

The Captain's Cup is an eatery in Kraken's Fall that sells beverages and tableware, and specializes in alcoholic beverages and drinkware. It is located at the westernmost point of town on Mantle's Landing in an elegantly appointed bar.

The shallow entryway unfolds into a plush sitting area that seems more elegant state room than pub. Floors and walls of varnished mahogany gleam darkly beneath the flickering candles set within a pair of lofty chandeliers, and the air is filled with the scent of high-priced cigars and vintage spirits. A sepia-toned globe guards a set of upward steps at the far end of the bar, and across the way, a curved brass handrail follows a stairway upward into the darkness.

Carved mahogany frames the ceiling above, with an elaborate maritime mural spanning the entirety of the space within. Wine-hued velvet hangs in scallops at the upper edges of the walls, while cherry wood wainscoting trims the lower half in a subtle, but stylish contrast to the mahogany walls. A half-circle counter at the head of the room boasts a display showcasing a variety of glasses, and dark leather-cushioned chairs and side tables are spread throughout the lounge. You also see a brass-railed stairway.

Pendulum lamps with jewel-toned stained glass shades hang above the bar, illuminating the cherry wood and highlighting clusters of drink accoutrements, such as embossed coasters, napkins, and extra garnishes. Swags of wine-hued velvet drape the ceiling and upper walls, subduing sound as well as the light from the candelabra scattered about. The effect is close and intimate, with a pair of suede-covered couches and several upholstered chairs arranged around a modest fireplace with a stone hearth. You also see a set of downward steps.
