[Sailor's Solace]
Light and dark-stained bookcases line the western edge of the large shop, shelves housing a variety of nautical instrumentation, while the eastern wall is filled with several plush bunks adorned with heavy velvet drapes. A gold and crimson knotwork carpet stretches across the floor, providing a colorful backdrop to the chairs and tables on display. Discreetly placed to one side, a small counter has a ledger, an ink vial, and a quill resting upon its leather-bound ink blotter. A small door blends into one wall. You also see a captain merchant and a wooden plank sign.

Yavs softy says, "Please, look around."

[The Vengeance, Docking]
The glaesineth-enclosed deck has a small door leading into the shop and a brass-edged koa gangplank climbing up to a second-story door. Small openings at the top of each wall let in the sea air, and their transparent nature allows an unfettered view of the dunes and ocean. An anchor-topped coil of hempen rope sits neatly in one corner, the anchor polished to a high sheen. Painted onto the artfully sea-weathered wood of the wall is "Welcome to the Dire Ebon Vengeance!" with a brass ship's bell hanging next to it.

>l door
The door is open.

>l gang
The stylized gangplank has gleaming brass accents lining each edge. The cut and polish of the koa highlights the reddish-brown and pale-hued patterns in the wood. Secured to the wall of the structure, the gangplank leads up to a matching door.

Kwys softly says, "I was instructed to watch the door."

>l rope
Beneath the anchor and almost hidden within the coils of rope is a deep basin filled with sea water acting as a manmade tidepool. A handful of rocks provide hiding places for tiny crabs that scuttle about, and a small eel coils within the waving tentacles of a bright amethyst sea anemone.

Kwys softly says, "My brothers are somewhere in this... place."

>tap bell
You tap a brass ship's bell, ringing it softly.

[The Vengeance, Main Cabin]
Several small bull's-eye windows set at regular intervals line the outer walls, each outlined in gleaming brass. The area resembles a ship's cabin, complete with an aperture leading to the west, and a silver and brass hatch with a discreet teak ladder in the ceiling. Centered over a rattan couch is a narra-framed oil painting, and a sextant hangs next to a highly figured koa door. Intricate marquetry in koa, teak, mahogany, and narra depicts a giant kraken in the middle of the floor.

>l apert
Strings of wooden beads hang from the aperture, densely clustered to block all but the most significant of winds from passing through. Each sturdy string is comprised of hundreds of polished beads in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, but all together, they create a beaded curtain depicting a map of the Tavekta Atoll.

>l couc
Lacquered bamboo and rattan are woven together and reinforced with strategically placed brass accents. Overstuffed royal blue linen cushions are accented with several throw pillows of bright white sea silk, each pillow heavily embroidered with scenes of island life.

Therenax softly says, "I'm also here, apparently."
Therenax softly says, "Yavs is... somewhere."
Therenax taps a cushioned rattan couch.
Therenax softly says, "Nice soft couch, though."

>sit couch
You move aside a bright white throw pillow embroidered with a coconut crab and take a seat on the comfortable couch.
s>touch couch
You run a hand along the rattan surface of the couch.

>l paint
With gradient green, blue, and grey tones, a storm-tossed ocean practically comes alive on canvas. A break in the clouds lets hints of sunlight radiate through the image and especially upon an ebonwood sloop being sucked into a maelstrom even as its crew bobs dangerously upon its fringes. Between intricately placed brushstrokes and expert application of highlighting, the ocean, when looked at from a certain angle, teems with vengeful merfolk.
There appears to be something written on it.
>read paint
In the Common language, it reads:
The Sinking of the Dire Ebon Vengeance

[The Vengeance, Stern]
Sunlight reflects off the gleaming brass railing lining the spacious, pointed balcony, and a sturdy koa and brass telescope occupies a break in the railing at the far point, allowing it to swivel across both island and sea. Hanging from the wall on one side of the aperture leading inside is a carved ivory dart board. A lacquered koa cupboard rests beneath it, a frosted glass pitcher on top pushed into the shade. The humidity hangs heavy in the air, the tang of salt on the nigh-perpetual ocean breeze.
Obvious paths: none

>l tele
Standing on three slender legs which have been securely fastened to a flattened precipice overlooking the cliff's edge, the slim copper telescope is delicately wrought and bears accents of knotwork filigree. A lever affixed to it allows it to be easily turned around and upward, while separate knobs appear suited for focusing.

>peer tele
You lean forward and look through the lens of the telescope.
The docks are bustling this time of day, with ships coming in and out at regular intervals. Focusing in on an area just beneath the nearest pier, however, you notice a pair of sea otters frolicking in the shadows.
You step away from the telescope.

>l board
You see a classical dart board numbered one through twenty, with two special score rings and a standard two ring bull's eye.

>l cupb
Lacquered to withstand the elements, the cupboard has carved doors depicting a pitched battle between an ebonwood-inlaid sloop and a mahogany man-o'war. The top of the cupboard holds a variety of glassware and a frosted glass pitcher of a vivid green liquid.
>l in pitch
The pitcher is filled with icy, mango rum-spiked green tea.

>get pitch
You take a glass from the top of the cupboard and pour some tea from the pitcher.
>raise my tea
You raise your iced green tea in a toast!
>drink my tea
You take a drink from your iced green tea. Light, spicy and yet very dry.
You have 5 quaffs left.
