The Ambush skill is used to determine success of attacking from a hidden or invisible position. Though, training in this skill also aids in aiming from an unhidden position (using the AMBUSH verb) or when using Ranged Weapons or Thrown Weapons. Training in Ambushing will increase the damage factor, stance pushdown, and critical weighting of an attack made from hiding or invisibility. The increase in damage factor occurs the most when using a small weapon. When using a larger weapon, there may be no increase in damage factor.
