The Cascade of Tears is a series of cascading waterfalls on the Cairnfang River just before reaching the port of Solhaven.
History
Legend has it that in 3925, a dwarven clan discovered the opal-laden sandstone cliffs along Solhaven Bay's eastern end. Discovering natural caves beneath the cliffs, the clan established a new community within the caverns, enlarging and embellishing the existing chambers and mining the gem-rich strata. The settlement lasted only 50 years.
It was given its tragic name by dwarves who had returned from a hunting expedition to their settlement in the cliffs by the sea only to find its inhabitants mysteriously slaughtered. The dwarves buried their dead and left, but not before giving the waterfalls their sad name in 3975, M.E.
