Description
Attempt to use the unnatural energy of your weapon to cleave away a spell from your target.Mechanics
It is easier to cleave a spell away from a heavily spelled up target than it is from a lightly spelled up one (base -25 penalty to success, reduced by +1 per magical spell/effect on the target). This is mentally taxing, requiring a recovery period of 60 seconds, minus 6 seconds per rank.

Successful Spell Cleaving
>cman scleave [Roll result: 151 (open d100: 88) Penalties: 7] You hang back for a moment and concentrate on the magical wards surrounding a hunch-backed dogmatist, before unleashing your attack upon them! You manage to cleave away a magical ward! The dim aura fades from around a hunch-backed dogmatist. Roundtime: 3 sec.
Unsuccessful Spell Cleaving
- Low Endroll
>cman scleave [Roll result: 78 (open d100: 10) Penalties: 7] You hang back for a moment and concentrate on the magical wards surrounding a hunch-backed dogmatist, before unleashing your attack upon them! You fail to connect solidly with any magical ward. Roundtime: 3 sec.
- No Spells on Target
R>cman scleave You hang back for a moment and attempt to concentrate on the magical wards surrounding a dhu goleras, but are unable to discern the presence of any at all. Roundtime: 3 sec.
- Not Using an Ensorcelled/Anti-Magic Weapon
>cman scleave [Roll result: 171 (open d100: 80) Bonus: 13] You hang back for a moment and concentrate on the magical wards surrounding an emaciated hierophant, before unleashing your attack upon them! Your attack passes harmlessly through the magical wards. Roundtime: 3 sec.
- Still in Recovery Period
R>cman scleave You remain mentally drained from your last attempt to perceive the threads that connect a magical ward to its bearer.
Recovery Period Ending
You feel mentally ready to attempt a Spell Cleaving again.
