Description:
Thurfel's Ward is a defensive enhancement spell.
Mechanics:
[[Thurfel's Ward (503)|Thurfel's Ward provides a base bonus of +20 to defensive strength.
For each rank of Major Elemental spells known:
- the duration of the spell is extended by 60 seconds from its base 1200 second duration.
- the DS bonus is increased by +1 for every 4 ranks known over 503 when selfcast.
The mana cost also increases by +1 for every 12 Major Elemental ranks known over 503.
The spell can be imbedded using Magic Item Create (420).
The DS bonus is capped at the caster's level.
The DS bonus at 100 Major Elemental Spell Ranks is 44.
Lore Benefit
Training in Elemental Lore, Earth will give a chance of seed 10 summation of ranks to gain an additional +20 DS on any single attack.

For MSTRIKEs, each individual attack of that MSTRIKE will have its own separate chance and will only gain the +20 DS for that part(s) of the MSTRIKE that pass the activation check.
Messaging
- The visible colors shown in the messaging depend on one's elemental attunement. If no attunement is chosen, or if it is set at random, a random color will display.
