Appearance

You see Lord Everall Dillingham the Defender of the Freeport.
He appears to be a Human from Selanthia.
He appears to be an adult. He has brown eyes and fair skin. He has tousled, dark brown hair.
He is wearing a royal blue longcloak clasped with a star-of-Tamzyrr diamond, a radiant golden crown symbol bedizened with white opal drakes, some dusty brown leather saddlebags slung over his shoulder, a blackened spiked veil iron greatshield slung over his other shoulder, a suit of matte black field-plate accented in raised white designs, a gold signet, an alum-studded leather frog with an argent morning star and a haon-handled veil iron war hammer hanging from it, an archaic urglaes reliquary, a rolaren censer etched with an elaborate sunburst symbol, a pair of brushed silver spurs, and a pair of whiskey brown oilskin riding boots edged with gold.

Background

Everall Dillingham of Selanthia was born on the 29th of Charlatos, 5087, in a small estate situated northeast of Tamzyrr, in the uplands. His lineage is one of both noble and humble beginnings, a combination that has shaped his view of the world.

Parents

His father, a former knight of the Empire and a prominent horse rancher, built his wealth by supplying horses and weaponry to the knighthood. His name was forged in the fires of the battlefield as a retired member of the revered Order of the Golvern Star, a distinction that brought him both honor and power.

His mother, on the other hand, came from a humble background as the daughter of a baker. She was a follower of Koar and volunteered her time aiding the poor, passing on a deep sense of compassion and community to her children.

Early Age

From an early age, Everall was exposed to a blend of both the nobility’s chivalric code and the commoner’s simple, selfless life. His upbringing, shaped by these contrasts, made him a studious, disciplined child. While his father’s teachings focused on the art of warfare, strategy, and the importance of honor, Everall also learned the value of kindness, hard work, and faith through his mother’s influence.

Formative Years

The early years of Everall’s life were marked by tragedy. When he was just five years old, his three year old sister was kidnapped by his uncle, a ruthless man who sought to further his own ambitions through blackmailing the Dillingham family for their wealth. Through the Dillingham patriarch’s fervor for justice and connections in the Empire, the eventual capture of his uncle and aunt was at hand as they were brought to justice by the Fist. His sister’s return was a bittersweet moment, as it took 17 years to find her and have her returned, leaving deep emotional scars that have never fully healed for either family member.

Everall’s brother, born in 4990, disappeared around the same time, and while it’s suspected he worked as a sea captain in Estoria, his whereabouts remain unknown. This mystery, along with his family’s troubled past, has shaped Everall’s resolve to find justice, peace, and stability within the Empire.

During his youth, Everall found solace in study, especially under the guidance of the Tamzyrrian knights of the Order of the Crimson Fist. These knights, strong followers of Koar, instilled in him a deep sense of duty, chivalric ideals, and the knowledge of their roles as protectors of the Empire. His tutelage also took him to the Church of Koar, where he studied the origins of undead and the Arkati, learning about the unholy forces that haunted the Empire.

Everall’s dedication to the code of chivalry and martial studies made him a well-rounded and driven individual. His belief in extinguishing the hauntings of the dead and defending the Empire from both the living and the dead has fueled his mission to uphold the honor of Koar and to ensure peace within the Empire. He is a man not easily swayed, shaped by his noble upbringing, his rigorous training, and the haunted past of his family.

an argent iron-spiked morning star

Numerous sharp iron spikes adorn the perfectly forged vultite ballhead, its surface highly polished and glistening. The strong ashwood haft runs down to the handle that is covered in rugged troll hide for a firm grip. Holy runes are burned into the length of the haft, and among them, in a fiery crimson script, are the words, "The Argent Star."
