The Uncouth Doublet is a highly scripted masculine doublet. It was first released in The Uncouth Wallflower shop at the 2025 Ebon Gate Festival.

Tier 1

At Tier 1, the Uncouth Doublet has several verbs for fluff messaging. Some verbs take into account what type of food or drink, if any, is held.

Analyze

You analyze the goose-bellied doublet and sense that the creator has provided the following information:

Welcome to the Uncouth Doublet of Evermore Hollow.

The doublet is a multitier clothing item designed for the awkward person who doesn't have the grace that some were gifted with at birth. It is a multitier item that can be completely customized by its owner at higher tiers.

It is designed to be worn over the front.

A plain goose-bellied doublet is currently Tier 1 of 5.

Fluff Verbs: Drink, Eat, Pat, Pull, Snort, and Turn
But can be customized at higher tiers.

The doublet base cannot be altered, lightened, or deepened.

Any items used to modify the doublet will be consumed upon use.

Stored Fabric: Unused
Stored Ore: defaults to metallic

Usage

Verb Food Type First Third
DRINK Any You guzzle your smoky tea, the amber liquid dribbling past your lips and down your chin. You curl your fingers into a fist at the edge of your goose-bellied doublet's sleeve and use it to wipe your chin. Firstperson guzzles her smoky tea, the amber liquid dribbling past her lips and down her chin. She uses the sleeve of her goose-bellied doublet to wipe her chin.
(no drink held) Glancing around, you pantomime taking a drink, searching askance for a waiter or someone to help you. Glancing around, Firstperson pantomime taking a drink, and then searches askance for something.
EAT Dry Foods Crumbs rain down onto your goose-bellied doublet as you devour your oatmeal raisin cookie. You brush at them distractedly, only to puff your belly further with the motion. Crumbs rain down her goose-bellied doublet as Firstperson devours her oatmeal raisin cookie, ineffectually brushing at them and causing her padded belly to puff out even more.
Ice Cream & Filled With gusto, you bite into your vanilla ice cream, causing a dollop of frozen dessert to splatter squarely on your goose-bellied doublet. Without a second thought, you bend over your belly and promptly lick it clean. With gusto, Firstperson bites into her vanilla ice cream, causing a dollop of frozen dessert to splatter squarely on her goose-bellied doublet. Without hesitation, she bends forward and scrapes it clean with an exaggerated lick.
Meat Grease slicks the belly of your goose-bellied doublet as you bite greedily into your grilled lamb chop, leaving a shining trail of your triumph across the padded swell. Grease slicks the belly of her goose-bellied doublet as Firstperson bites greedily into her grilled lamb chop, leaving a shining, triumphant trail behind.
Fruit You tear a hearty bite from your blood orange, only to dribble a mess of juices down the swell of your goose-bellied doublet. With an exaggerated grunt, you swipe a hand across the padded belly, smearing it even further. Firstperson tears a hearty bite from her blood orange, dribbling a mess of juices down the front of her goose-bellied doublet. With an exaggerated grunt, she wipes at the mess, only managing to smear it wider across the padded fabric.
(no food held) Nervously surveying the area, you absently pat your goose-bellied doublet belly, as if hoping a snack might magically appear tucked within its fold. Firstperson nervously pats the front of her goose-bellied doublet, as though expecting a forgotten snack to tumble free.

PAT n/a You thump your padded belly with a firm hand, trying to smooth the goose-bellied doublet back into shape after your latest blunder. It only puffs larger in protest. PULL n/a You grab both sides of your goose-bellied doublet and yank them forward, hoping to cinch the ridiculous belly tighter. Tier 2

At Tier 2, the Uncouth Doublet gains several more verbs for fluff messaging.

Analyze

A plain goose-bellied doublet is currently Tier 2 of 5.

Fluff Verbs: Drink, Eat, Giggle, Lean, Pat, Pull, Sashay, Snort, Sob, Swoon, and Turn
But can be customized at higher tiers.

Usage

Verb First Third
GIGGLE You let out a wheezing snicker, your belly quaking with each breath. One hand clutches your goose-bellied doublet while the other slaps against your thigh in approval of your own hilarity. Firstperson lets out a wheezing snicker, the belly of her goose-bellied doublet jiggling with the effort. One hand clutches the padded swell while the other slaps at her thigh in delighted approval.
LEAN You waddle in an exaggerated arc, trying to navigate the space around you without tipping over from the front-heavy weight of your goose-bellied doublet. With an awkward gait, Firstperson waddles in a wide arc, clearly compensating for the padded swell of her goose-bellied doublet that threatens to pitch her forward.
SASHAY You attempt an impressive strut, thrusting out your belly with every step. You suddenly trip, the weight of the pronounced belly on your goose-bellied doublet causing you to suddenly jerk forward. You stumble, yelp, and then straighten up as if nothing ever happened. Firstperson thrusts out her padded belly in an exaggerated strut. She suddenly trips, the weight of the pronounced belly on her goose-bellied doublet causing her to jerk forward suddenly. She stumbles for a moment before putting on an aloof air and pretending nothing happened.
SOB The weight of your day and the burden of your goose-bellied doublet crash down upon you. Heaving a sob, you slump forward and clutch your padded belly like it is a beloved pet, your sleeves soaking up the worst of your sniffling. Firstperson suddenly slumps forward and heaves a sob, clutching the stuffed belly of her goose-bellied doublet as if it were a loyal pet. She snuffles noisily into her sleeve.
SWOON You throw yourself into a dramatic slouch, your chin against your chest, and one hand lifted to your forehead. Unfortunately, your belly bumps gives you unneeded momentum and you go flying forward. You collapse in a heap, groaning about bruised dignity. Firstperson throws herself into a dramatic slouch, her chin against her chest, and one hand lifted to her forehead. The padded belly of her goose-bellied doublet bumps gives her unneeded momentum and she goes flying forward. With a wild flail, she lands in a heap and mutters about bruised dignity.
