Unbalance calls upon the spiritual forces to impact the target if their spirit warding fails. The target would then suffer an unbalancing injury, often resulting in the foe falling down. The severity of the injury is determined by the warding margin.
Training in Spiritual Lore, Summoning enhances the power of the attack upon a successful cast.
Some creatures are immune to unbalance damage.
Tactical Considerations
Besides injuries and possible stuns, it can inflict roundtime (RT) and knock the target over into the prone condition. Although mostly used for disabling, the unbalance table has some criticals that can cause death.
The Major Elemental spell Hand of Tonis (505) and the Minor Spiritual spell Web (118), when cast in their bolt forms, use the same critical table as Unbalance.
