The Haste spell appears to provide a Wizard with a reduction in Roundtime based on the following formula (all fractions are rounded down):
- Final RT = (RT - [1 + X + Y]) * (75 - Z)%
- X = Air Lore Bonus; Increases by +1 at 24 ranks, 100 ranks, and 200 ranks
- Y = Major Elemental Bonus; Increases by +1 at 51 ranks and 100 ranks
- Z = Major Elemental Spells Known / 3
For example, with 27 MjE ranks, 24 Air Lore ranks, and a five second RT:
- X= 1; Y = 0; Z = 9
- Final RT = (5 - [1 + 1 + 0]) * (75 - 9)%
- Final RT = 3 * 66%
- Final RT = 1.98; Which rounds down to a 1 second RT.
A second example, at 51 MjE ranks, 24 Air Lore ranks, and a six second RT:
- X= 1; Y = 1; Z = 17
- Final RT = (6 - [1 + 1 + 1]) * (75 - 17)%
- Final RT = 3 * 58%
- Final RT = 1.74; Which rounds down to a 1 second RT.
Also, the benefit of MjE ranks does not appear to be capped by your character's level.
The skills of the person benefiting from the spell are used for this formula, not those of the caster. Therefore, non-Wizards will see (RT - [1 + X]) * (75)%. The only variable would be the amount of Air Lore ranks, which behave the same as variable X in the above formula.

Customary Uses
This spell is primarily used in combat situations by War Mages as part of their unique combat style, which involves repeated attacks with a weapon upon a single target.
In the form of imbedded items, rechargeable items or scrolls, it is often used by other adventurers for a similar purpose.
As it is not limited to selfcast use, Wizards of all types can often be seen casting this upon other adventurers, particularly in group hunting situations or in cases when those adventurers are engaging in activities known to cause long roundtimes (such as healing, box picking, or use of Raise Dead (318), among others). Some wizards have also been known to use it in combination with Enchant Item (925).
Note: Haste is ignored with ALCHEMY commands. However, it does function with various alchemy-related tasks which have other verbs.
A thick silver potion casts Celerity (506).
The first recipe requires ingredients from Zul Logoth and Ta'Illistim, while the second requires ingredients available in the Landing.
