The yierka-spur is a brawling weapon that is essentially a knuckle-duster mounted with from one to three spikes, which can range up to several inches in length. Although the weapon can be used in slashing attacks with limited effectiveness, it is primarily designed as a punching weapon capable of inflicting puncture and crush damage. Ostensibly, the yierka-spur evolved from the foot gear of Sea of Fire nomads.
The yierka-spur is one of several Brawling weapons suitable for use with unarmed combat attacks. When used in conjunction with unarmed combat, its function changes from a weapon to an item of equipment. Held in the attacker's hand, it provides a .075 damage factor bonus and a -15 Multiplier Modifier penalty to all Jab, Punch and Grapple attacks. Holding a yierka-spur in each hand will double the DF bonus and MM penalty.
Any additional properties, such as enchant bonus, flares or weighting, will be activated with these attacks.
