Cestus

A cestus.

The cestus, a primitive and somewhat more lethal precursor to modern day boxing gloves, is a brawling weapon consisting of a studded leather hand wrapping. Barely more effective than a closed fist, the cestus is rarely used as a serious weapon when targeting dangerous foes.

The cestus is one of several Brawling weapons suitable for use with unarmed combat attacks. When used in conjunction with unarmed combat, its function changes from a weapon to an item of equipment. Held in the attacker's hand, it provides a .025 damage factor bonus and a -5 Multiplier Modifier penalty to all Jab, Punch and Grapple attacks. Holding a cestus in each hand will double the DF bonus and MM penalty.

Any additional properties, such as enchant bonus, flares or weighting, will be activated with these attacks.
