The knuckle-duster is a brawling weapon more commonly, but not officially, known as brass knuckles. It is designed to lend weight and a higher level of lethality to closed fist attacks. Although it has the advantage of light weight and speed, the knuckle-duster is better suited to bar room brawling than combat in the wilds.
The knuckle-duster is one of several Brawling weapons suitable for use with unarmed combat attacks. When used in conjunction with unarmed combat, its function changes from a weapon to an item of equipment. Held in the attacker's hand, it provides a .050 damage factor bonus and a -10 Multiplier Modifier penalty to all Jab, Punch and Grapple attacks. Holding a knuckle-duster in each hand will double the DF bonus and MM penalty.
Any additional properties, such as enchant bonus, flares or weighting, will be activated with these attacks.
