Leaves have begun to fall as the year turns toward its quiet sleep, the veil between Elanthia and the twilight of Naidem grows as brittle and thin as a held breath. Strange things have begun to drift across the threshold between the living and unliving, washing ashore like forgotten flotsam from a dream. What purpose do they carry? Will their forms take root and linger in the waking world, or dissolve back into the mist that birthed them? Few can tell, though those who listen closely to the dark may soon begin to understand.
From now until the gates of the festival open, feeders across the realms will occasionally drop unique curiosities. Some of these oddities will fade away once their secrets are shared, while others will hold their shape, waiting for observant hands to coax their meaning into the light. Enjoy the hunt and welcome the unfolding mystery!
Announcent 3 - News & Updates
We've been working hard; the day is nearly here, and we are as excited as you are to return to Naidem. With October 1st on the horizon, and the opening close on its heels, we’ve got a lot of updates and changes to share with you.
Evermore Hollow Hotel
We’ve heard your discussion and feel your concern; there were many pain points about the hotel stay that were confusing or upsetting to some players. As such, we are taking the following steps to ease confusion and merchant anxiety.
There is a new hotel verb that will present you with information on your stay. Primarily, it will tell you if you have a reservation or not. It can be used with HOTEL or HOTEL HELP. This verb will be live soon.
All hotel stay purchasers, regardless of whether it is a suite or a regular room, will be able to SPLIT their key upon receiving it and gift it to whomever they desire. Additionally, we’ve done away with waiting around for a merchant to get to your floor. Instead, we’ve increased the alteration book count to 10, and you will receive it immediately in your welcome package.
Conference goers will still receive a single ‘pass’ into the conference areas, which will be opened up once the conference is over.

Merchant week will from from Friday, October 16th at Noon to Tuesday, October 20th at Midnight. Here are the changes for the services pass this year:

Last Year's Passes
For those of you who found yourselves inundated with passes, fear not. You'll be able to destroy the pass for 20 barrel keys.
Trove
The trove will run from the 16th - the 26th. It will still draw nightly. The only way to get tokens is through the Service Pass.
Live Games
- Live Games will continue again this year. They will take place over the weekend of the 24th and 25th. There will be four games.
- Also, Seynne will be running her games outside of Merchant Week. You can look for her on the 21st and 22nd.
Vault Update
The Spidersilk Apothecary takes on a new cosmetic look this year to help you differentiate it from last year’s box. This year, it is an octagonal witchwood apothecary. When you look at it, you’ll see the bronze hooks.
The apothecary will come with 10 Transmorphing Spiders. They are:
- The Confectionery Spider – This spider takes any foraged item and turns it into a spun-sugar specimen. It can be eaten for a tasty, sweet treat.
- The Websmith Spider – This spider takes 1 row from a skein of yarn and turns it into 25 pieces of {yarn adjective} yarn for weaving.
- The Minimalist Spider – This spider will remove the long description from any qualifying item.
And lastly, you’ll get 7...
- Metallurgy Spiders – These spiders will change the base metal of a piece of jewelry to the metal of the spider. This year, the apothecary comes with a gold, white gold, rose gold, copper, sterling silver, faenor, and vaalorn spider.
- None of the Transmorphing Spiders can be altered.
In lieu of a searchable spiderweb, a new shop has been added to the Graveyard. Inside it, you’ll find the new Alteration Spiders. These spiders will allow you to add long descriptions to:
- Chopsticks
- Utensils
- Cigars
- Paper
Lastly, fishing has been updated to offer alteration spiders as prizes.

- Two 25-entry keys (SimuCoin Store Event Entries)
- a death certificate (Exp Modifier, +50% for 30 days - Character Attuned)

Speaking of fishing...
Fishing Updates
Fishing has been broken for a while, but we are moving it into the same odds as the Duskruin Boosts (1d250). Many of the prizes in fishing have been updated, but this will be the last year for fishing. Those prizes will be moved to a new event next year.
Witch's Hut and Arena of the Abyss
As mentioned last year, entry to these activities was updated to match the universal barrel key entry. The rewards have been updated to match the appropriateness of the entry (ie: soul shard return and incidentals).
Sonreeva will also be changed to a flat-cost entry. This new cost will cover the upgrade of the thumb-ring.
There will be more information on this during opening week.
Guide Book to the Unliving
The guidebook has had a couple of updates. Primarily, obtaining one has been updated to QUEST. Additionally, you will now be transported directly TO the merchant in the list, provided that you are IN Naidem.
Last Year of the Mandrake
This year will be the last time you can find the Mandrake in the Herb Hunt. Next year will see a new prize.

Scrip Updates
Starting with Ebon Gate, we are normalizing all scrip payouts for entries that cost 100 SimuCoins to participate. No matter if you win, lose, surrender, or disconnect, you will earn 300 scrip that the event rewards. With this, we are discontinuing any form of "cache" that results in more scrip than normal. Some activities already have things in place, but instead each activity will have some sort of randomized prize drop and incidentals. Only scrip rewards will be guaranteed, anything else may require you to survive, defeat creatures, or complete the activity.
Ebon Gate:
- Trick-or-Treat: 2 Candies. Upon completion you'll get 25 instant exp and earn 72 exp at the end for each "trick" defeated (which should work out to be 500 if you defeat all tricks). Your first KNOCK will be 300 soul shards.
- Herb Hunt: Pet chance and SimuCoin Store items. Upon completion you'll earn 500 exp. Your 300 soul shards will be at the end.
- Arena of the Abyss: Green orb chance, Necro ring chance, Necro ring recharging, and incidentals. Upon completion you'll earn 100 exp per kill (which should work out to be 500 if you defeat all 5 rounds). Your 300 soul shards will be at the end.
- Witch Hunt: Green orb chance, Ocarina chance, Ocarina recharging, and incidentals. Upon completion you'll earn 500 exp. Your 300 soul shards will be at the end.
Special Item Recharging:
- Ocarina: You will earn 50 charges instead of 5.
- Necro Ring: You will earn 10 charges per creature defeated instead of 1 (for a max of 50).
Part 2 - Scrip Adjustments
Couple other adjustments.
- Herb Hunt will award green orbs, fusion tokens, or the incidentals.
- Fusion tokens will be the majority of drops vs the incidentals.
Sellback to the NPC is being adjusted as follows:
- Candy: From 2 to 5.
- Fusion Tokens: From 5 to 10
- Fishing sellback is being reduced a small bit from 3 to 2. And that's mostly due to an error on our part from previous years.
Reason for these changes are to be closer to Duskruin's DUSKRUIN SET where you can choose 10 extra scrip. It will feel like all you're getting is fusion tokens though. This is more item management, but maybe in 2027 we can solve it at the faucet.
So really the choice between activities is the randomized stuff or recharging. Otherwise everything is similar and equal.

Debuting at Ebon Gate in 2026 is the Cheval Mirror, a room decoration with Stay-Put qualities designed to be PLACEd out in a room for four hours, or in a stall, loft, or private property until its place is cleared. The mirror can hang on a wall, be placed on the floor as a freestanding mirror, or nudged onto a table like a vanity mirror.
You could:
- PEER into the cheval mirror to see your own reflection.
- CLEAN or TILT the cheval mirror.
- ATTEND, GAZE, FLIRT, KISS, POSE, SPIN in the mirror.
- ATTEND can further be targeted at a worn item, BODY, EYES, FACE, HAIR, LIPS, or TEETH.
- GAZE will work with any of the styles in HELP GAZE.
- POSE can be targeted at a held or worn item.
ATTEND messaging will change depending on what makeup and skincare you are wearing.

Premiering at Resin and Releaf will be the Resinator, a modular crafting device that allows you to utilize resin for your crafting needs.
... so I made the mistake of not ensuring I had enough consecutive posts to put it all out immediately after this one so uh... see below.
Thank you to Isten and @Vanah for their QC... and special thanks to Vanah for feature-creeping my initial concept.
- So, the Resinator? What makes it so modular?
Well, I'm glad (you) I asked! Right now, it is limited in capability ONLY because I ran out of time, however I have PLANS for future releases.
- Okay, well, what can it do NOW?
Well, the base Resinator box will allow you to take a foraged item (not herbs, though) and turn it into a gem using resin. The resulting gem will be organic, if that makes a difference to you all. But let's start with a preview:
You pick up a cluster of jungle geranium blossoms. >put bloss in my box WARNING: All foraged items added to your box will be permanently destroyed. If you are certain you wish to continue, please CONFIRM by PUTting (or DROPping) your blossoms into your box again. >put bloss in my box You lift the lid of your resinator box and gingerly place the jungle geranium blossoms within it, taking care to lower your box's lid back in place. >l box A clear glass lid caps the box, revealing a single jungle geranium blossom. On one side, connected to a small sluice and plug, is a dark glaes tube that sits less than half-full of resin. The opposite side features a small button beneath a blank display. >push my box Just as you are about to push the sluice plug on your resinator box, you stop to verify what you plan to make. Please confirm you wish to create a jungle geranium blossom by PUSHing your resinator box again in the next 30 seconds. >turn my box You push a button on the side of your resinator box and select enameled. >push my box Just as you are about to push the sluice plug on your resinator box, you stop to verify what you plan to make. - But that's a LONG on a GEM item?!
Yes... yes, it is. So at its base, you can manipulate the foraged items as needed.
- Why did it become a blade, though?
Because grass is typically a blade (so basically, some foraged items will see their noun switch up based on what makes sense for a singular noun... just be aware that ear of corn will stay ear of corn because corn ear feels weird).
- So I can make gems with it? Long-alter gems?
Yep! Some things will only work with the base 15/15/15, however there are others that will handle long descriptions when used.
- Okay, but what else?
Welp, it's better I show you...

... because do you see how long it is already? You want your whole shoe to just be a setting? However, if you want to keep the original article instead of replacing it, you can (except for when considering words like "cluster", "stalk", etc).
- Okay, but what about the resin?
Good question! Resin can be added to your Resinator to increase charges.
- How do we get the resin?
Another good question! For now, it will be for sale at Resin and Releaf, but I'm hoping to have an announcement regarding [redacted]
soon! Once [redacted] is available, I will let you know. It will not be available for the PERM-ifier because of [redacted]

- Is the resin edible?
Why would any ask that... but technically, yes. Technically, you can drink the resin. However, technically it is TOXIC and you WILL die if you drink it. No unpoison, you will die. Period. Don't drink the resin.... but if you do, please share with the class what you learned.
- Is there anything else I should know?
Right now? No. but please do keep the ideas coming. I want to make this as modular as possible, and if there is something you think could benefit from resin casting, I'm all ears. (I already have some things in mind, and Vanah has feature-creeped me on some things. What it is right now was the result of initial feature creep which made me semi-start over to rewrite the script).
- More molds? How will we store them?

No shock here. Lightning Edition, Vacuum Edition, Fire Edition, and Frost Edition versions of Twisted Gloves are going to be available this Ebon Gate. The perfect compliment to Twisted Kicks released last year.
- Refreshed Shop: Sparked Interest (Lightning edition)
- New Shop: Fingers Crossed (Vacuum, Fire, and Frost editions)
What might not have been expected, however, is Script Adding is being made available this year for these editions at this Ebon Gate, in addition to Script Adding for Twisted Kicks. No need to wait a year! These "certificates" will be for handwear and footwear that already have Lightning, Vacuum, Fire, or Cold weapon ability flares. As it is with other Twisted armament scripts, you must purchase the correct Script Adding item for the associated flare and item type.
- Unlock or script add? Both have been available for the last couple runs. You use the weapon script add for a runestaff.

Or perhaps you prefer a little troll in your life? First, let's return to normal with WAVE:

As you do, you hear the faintest sound of a breath being drawn inward, although you cannot quite place where it's coming from. After a few moments, you lower the tube and feel both disoriented and slightly different.
Let's begin again, with our war troll:
>approve my tube Taking a deep breath and holding it, you keep your gaze fixed through a pyrographed pale wood tube. Colors swirl upon the lens within the tube as you watch. He has thick, meticulously-combed, dark brown hair. He has a patch of coarse black hair sprouting forth from leathery skin behind each of his ears. Using the Lens of Obfuscation, players can assume the aspects of various monsters they defeat. By capturing these likenesses as you POINT the tube at your slain foes, you can save them for later, to assume them as your distinguishing mark. These characteristics are strange and can be monstrous. They may be slightly confusing in concert with your prior features, making you appear odd or scary. That's the price you pay for dabbling with an uncertain device, for synthesizing with the corpses of your enemies.
One more for now. Become one with the rolton, as you've always wanted, yes yes?

The Cobbling Maker
The Cobbling Maker boxes have received a few upgrades, some innate and some available via unlock.
The cobbling Silk Screen Press, leatherworking tool, Cobbling Settings Maker Box, Cobbling Plates Maker Box, and Cobbling Upper Maker Box have had the following updates:
- Added GAZE to show all available options;
- TURN will work with a given number (listed in GAZE);
- PUSH confirmation will now preview the finished settings and will be specific to the design, so if you change anything and push again you will receive a fresh confirmation.
- Can be analyzed anywhere, to hopefully make juggling custom boxes easier
- Can have charges made unlimited at the PERM-ifier
The cobbling silk screen press, leatherworking tool, cobbling settings maker, cobbling plates boxes will have a certificate to unlock patterns, which adds ATTEND, PONDER, and WHISPER. Ponder cycles through the categories and lists the options in each; whisper allows you to select an option; attend changes the way it looks (-motif, -patterned, etc). The screen print and leatherworking tool are limited to 15 characters total so no options longer than 9 characters display.
May now have a FLIP option shown in the analyze to adjust how much of the gem shows in the cobbled shoe.
- Cobbling Settings Maker Boxes
- Reduced number for needed gems from 4 to 1;
- FLIP will give you control of whether your PRE-STYLES and POST-STYLES show;
- STARE will show you all options available for a given gem;
- Updated pluralization to no longer require pluralization only with an (s) and no longer restricted to one word;

Debuting in 2026, the rock tumbler is a crafting device that will reset gemstones back to uncut, allowing them to be cut with a lapidary box and a gemcutter. The rock tumbler will be for sale in the Naidem shop Glisten and Gleam.
There are four unlocks available.
- The Stay-Put unlock will allow you to place it on the ground while you work.
- The shape unlock will allow you to change the noun of the gemstone, similar to the post-style option on a cobbling settings maker box. There are 44 base options.
- The pattern unlock will grant you access to one-word options in the Design list, giving you hundreds of additional shapes to choose from. You must have the shape unlock to add the pattern unlock.
- The custom unlock will open up three custom settings on the rock tumbler, up to nine, for you to have custom shapes altered by a merchant. You must have the shape unlock to add custom slots.
You put a pale mistvein sapphire in a rock tumbler.
flip tumbler You change the setting on the rock tumbler to create uncut gemstones. The current setting is an uncut sapphire. >spin 8 tumbler You prepare to make a sapphire cabochon. >flip tumbler You change the setting on the rock tumbler to partially tumble a gemstone, removing only the article of a tumbled gemstone. The current setting is a pale mistvein sapphire. >flip tumbler You change the setting on the rock tumbler to change the noun of a tumbled gemstone. SPIN the tumbler to select the noun. The current setting is a pale mistvein sapphire cabochon. >flip tumbler You change the setting on the rock tumbler to partially tumble a gemstone, removing only the article while also changing the noun of a tumbled gemstone. SPIN the tumbler to select the noun. The current setting is a sapphire cabochon.

Available in the Roof Over is a doorbell contact that will allow a private property owner to customize and install a doorbell in or outside their private property.
Any merchant can customize what the doorbell will look like when installed. The item should make sense for something that is outside a property and sounds inside any room, such as a button, bell, door knocker, chimes, etc. Long descriptions and show descriptions are simultaneously allowed but require two separate alteration sessions to have both.
The contract can be turned to cycle through several different messaging types which echo throughout the private property when the doorbell is rung:
- You hear the gentle ringing of a bell.
- You hear the gentle ringing of a bell followed by the discreet voice of a servant, "(Person) awaits outside and desires entrance."
- You hear the gentle ringing of a bell followed by a soft whisper, "(Person) is ringing for entry."
- The gentle tinkling of chimes announces a visitor.
- The resounding clap of a door knocker announces a visitor.
- The resounding strike of a gong announces a visitor.
Custom: You may submit this doorbell contract to Sadie as a delayed service. Sadie can customize the message seen by the visitor who rings the bell as well as the message seen by anyone else in the visitor's room. Sadie can also customize what anyone in your private property hears when someone rings the bell. Each custom option carries the 300-point cost for a customization and must go through delayed QC. The entire contract can be customized at one time for 1200 premium points.
The property owner can RAISE the doorbell contract while standing in the room where you want to install the doorbell. If you wish to place it ON a portal leading to your property or ON an item in your property, RAISE doorbell contract AT {DOOR}.

Off the Shelf
- Newly purchased boxes will generate with keys that match the box's lock.
- Elanthian Binder and ink, Flower Press, Paper Maker, Invisible Ink Pens, and confetti punches can now be stored in the stationery box.
- Paper with long descriptions or shows may now be PUSHed into the box to stack the paper.
- Can be analyzed anywhere.
- Works if placed alongside you at your feet.
Envelope Unlock
- You may purchase an unlock that adds stationery envelopes as something you can PUSH into the box to stack.
- EXTINGUISH will remove a stacked envelope again.
PERM-ified paper Unlock
- Paper and envelopes PUSHed in can be duplicated via the PLUCK verb (for paper) or EXTRACT verb (for envelopes).
- PULL and EXTINGUISH will still remove one stacked paper or envelope at a time; once all are removed, you can PUSH in a new piece and change which item is stored.
Stay-Put Unlock
- Adds Stay-Put qualities to a stationery box, allowing you to PLACE it on the ground for up to 4 hours, or until you remove it again in a private property.
- Frees up a hand for writing, stamping, folding, decorating.
- You can customize what the box looks like when placed, allowing you to create a desk or other furniture.
- When placed, you can PROD the desk to toggle it between anyone being able to access its contents vs only you.
