Quickstrike is a Combat Maneuver that reduces the roundtime for an attack with a tradeoff of reduced AS. This skill may be also used with Two Weapon Combat with respective stamina costs.
Additional ranks in Quickstrike will yield greater roundtime reductions and decreased AS penalties, as shown below:
- Rank 1: -20 AS and -1 RT
- Rank 2: -15 AS and -1 RT
- Rank 3: -10 AS and -2 RT
- Rank 4: -5 AS and -2 RT
- Rank 5: No AS penalty and -3 RT
Stamina Cost
Quick Strike's stamina cost is determined by the weapon's base speed.
If a weapon's base speed is less than or equal to +5, add 2 per point. For example, a player swinging a longsword (base speed +4) will incur a stamina cost of 16:
16 = (8 + [2 * 4]).
If a weapon's base speed is greater than 5, For weapons with a base speed greater than 5, an increasing penalty 1 stamina per base speed over 5 seconds is applied. This is applied on top of each previous second's stamina penalty. For example, swinging a katana with two hands (base speed of +6) will incur a stamina cost of 24:
24 = (8 + [2 * 5] + 6).
When using Two Weapon Combat, the stamina cost is determined by the sum of the primary weapon's base speed and half of the secondary weapon's base speed (rounded up), plus one. For example, using Quickstrike with a primary short sword (base speed +3) and a secondary main gauche (base speed +2) will cost 17 stamina:
17 = (8 + [2 * (3 + (0.5 * 2)] + 1).
The stamina cost for Quickstrike will never exceed 25.
