Mynal'lyanna Anodheles
Mynal'lyanna Anodheles (unknown - 4 Fashanos, 5103) was an empress of the Turamzzyrian Empire. Mynal'lyanna succeeded Emperor Hannelas Anodheles in the year 5092, after her three elder siblings and heirs to the throne, died mysteriously. The empress reinforced Chaston's Edict, raised taxes to expand the Imperial Army, and promoted a program of human superiority at the expense of other races. While this strategy did not win her gratitude from her neighbors, it did rejuvenate pride within the Empire.
Noteworthy of her rule was her initial support of Baron Lerep Hochstib of Jantalar in his conquest of neighboring provinces in the northern part of the empire. Mynal'lyanna provided Hochstib with the infamous Mandis Crystals and used the conflicts waged by the baron as an excuse not to appoint a Northern Sentinel of the Empire.
While partaking of a grand tour of the empire in 5103, the Empress was assassinated on the 4th of Fashanos in the port of Solhaven. Immediately prior to her death, the Empress had surprised many with a speech concerning the better cooperation of races within the Empire. Her first cousin, Aurmont Chandrennin Anodheles succeeded her to the throne.

Dateline 2/5/2003: AN EMPIRE MOURNS The Turamzzyrian Empire was plunged into grief with the untimely death of Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress Mynal'lyanna Anodheles. The Imperial Blades, Baron Malwind's personal guard, and the Mercantile Guild of Solhaven are all engaged in the search for the assassin. It is certain that the guilty party cannot evade the eye of justice for long. Upon the eve of Niiman, Fashanos 6, barring other developments, Baron Malwind will hold a memorial service for the fallen Empress at the site of her death. All who share in the grief of the Empire are permitted to attend, but those who show disrespect will be swiftly removed, with severe consequences. The Empire grieves for the fallen Empress, but the Empire itself lives on, and the wrath of the Arkati shall surely befall those who would think this a time of weakness. Representatives of all appropriate parties are gathering in Tamzyrr to determine the Empress's successor, as there is no designated heir at this time. After its use in this terrible crime, the Imperial ban against the prohibited herb Luukosian deathwort has been reinforced, and there is an extremely lucrative reward available to anyone who can offer information leading to the capture of those who deal in deathwort. A far greater reward is available to anyone who offers information leading to the capture of the assassin, so long as the assassin is alive and sensate. Dateline 2/18/2003: TURAMZZYRIAN SUCCESSION After a detailed and careful examination of the late Empress's lineage and all appropriate potential successors to the throne, the identity of the next Emperor has been determined. Surrounded by all appropriate ceremony, Aurmont Anodheles will accept the crown of the Turamzzyrian Empire at a date yet to be determined. Considering the circumstances surrounding the late Empress's death, the coronation will be held at a time and place fitting to the new Emperor and to all considerations of security. (Needless to say, it will not be the city of Solhaven.) Aurmont Anodheles is the first cousin of the late Empress. Considering the circumstances of his position, it is not believed that he has any relation to the assassination of Mynal'lyanna Anodheles, and his surprise and grief over his cousin's death are widely believed to be genuine. Aside from an appropriate respect for the Church of Koar, Aurmont's religious inclinations are unknown at this time, and he is not noted for strong views regarding Chaston's Edict. His intentions regarding the late Empress's desire to expand the reach of the Turmzzyrian Empire are also unknown. However, there is no doubt that all will become clear as the new Emperor's reign progresses. Thy Empire hails thee, Aurmont Anodheles, and the new era marked by your reign! Inquisition of 5107
- Posted by GM Lothwyn 1 May 2007
Rumors have spread to the port of Solhaven this evening that the imperial inquisition surrounding the assassination of Empress Mynal'lyanna Anodheles, first cousin to the current Emperor Aurmont Anodheles, is about to conclude. At the core of the investigation is Baron Dunrith Malwind of Vornavis and his involvement in decisions which may have resulted in the Empress' death, and possible ties to the origination of the assassination plot. The inquisition was established by His Imperial Majesty a few years ago shortly after the incident in question happened in the town of Solhaven.
Supporters of His Excellency Baron Malwind have expressed solidarity with the embattled baron, but they have grown concerned as of late by the lack of clear information out of the inquisition. Should the inquisition find the baron's actions suspect, and at fault for the assassination of the Empress, he would be stripped of all rights, titles, and privileges, and be sentenced to execution. Were this to happen, the baron's immediate family would be shamed into exile, and the seat of the barony of Vornavis would remain under the overlordship control of the Sentinel of the North, His Excellency Earl Eddric Jovery, permanently, or until such a time as a new baron could be established.
Further at stake in the inquisition is the future Free Port status of Solhaven. If His Excellency Baron Malwind is found at fault and sentenced to execution, Solhaven's status would likely never be restored, even at the behest of His Excellency Earl Jovery, and full imperial control would reside over the town. As a result, the initial "imperial crackdown" that was felt immediately after the death of the Empress would be returned to full force, and felt throughout all corners of Solhaven.
The baronial court of His Excellency Baron Malwind has released a statement that all pending appointments with the Baron and overlord Earl Jovery have been cancelled for the month as the two travels to Tamzyrr to await the conclusion of the inquisition.
In the coming weeks, sides will likely be formed over the decision facing the imperial inquisition. Those who support His Excellency Baron Malwind of Vornavis, and those who wish to seek further justice for the assassination of their Imperial Majesty Empress Mynal'lyanna Anodheles. But everyone in the Turamzzyrian Empire, and those with a keen interest looking in from outside, wait for the final decree from His Imperial Majesty Emperor Aurmont Anodheles.
