Perhaps one of the most destructive spells known to spell users is Meteor Swarm. The caster throws his or her arms skyward while uttering the phrases of invocation. While this seems innocent at first, about 20 seconds later a devastating barrage of flaming meteors will begin to fall on the area inflicting terrible damage to anyone or anything unfortunate enough to be in the area. The meteors will continue to fall in a wide radius around the area for several minutes after the initial strike.
While this spell is much more effective outdoors, it may shake structures and injure those inside with falling debris.
Mechanics
As of 2020 updates, Meteor Swarm has standard multi-target spell targeting and will not affect other players unless using EVOKE. It does not harm the caster regardless (unlike historically).
Once cast, there is build-up time of approximately 20 seconds before the onslaught begins. The spell's effects will continue for several minutes before dissipating. Each damage cycle consists of initial concussion HP damage with fire and impact criticals. The first meteor strike will be where the spell was originally cast, but afterwards secondary meteors can fall in nearby locations. If the spell is cast indoors, there is no fire critical.
Most creatures will attempt to move away from the area where a Meteor Swarm is falling unless the Wizard hinders them. Cold Snap can be useful as frozen enemies will take an additional steam critical when struck by fire.

Cast Roundtime 3 Seconds. A low roar of quickly parting air can be heard above! Much to your horror, a devastating inferno of flaming rocks ignites the entire sky and smites the area! [SMR result: 201 (Open d100: 94, Bonus: 20)] A lithe veiled sentinel is struck by a burning projectile, taking 13 points of damage! ... 40 points of damage! Neck consumed in flame and charred to a crisp. A lithe veiled sentinel lets out a ragged gasp before collapsing. Several flaming meteors light the nearby sky! Several flaming meteors light the nearby sky! Several flaming rocks burst from the sky and smite the area! [SMR result: 127 (Open d100: -11, Bonus: 52)] A lithe veiled sentinel is struck by a burning projectile, taking 22 points of damage! ... 20 points of damage! Nasty burns to back. Won't be sleeping on that for awhile. As the fire strikes the ice block surrounding a lithe veiled sentinel, a rush of steam is released! ... 10 points of damage! Excoriating vapors cause chafing of left arm. The block of ice encasing a lithe veiled sentinel's lower half melts away. ... 15 points of damage! Nice blow to abdomen! Several flaming rocks burst from the sky and smite the area! [SMR result: 186 (Open d100: 70, Bonus: 29)] A lithe veiled sentinel is struck by a burning projectile, taking 23 points of damage! ... 30 points of damage! Extreme heat melts the skin off a lithe veiled sentinel's left hand. Gross! ... 40 points of damage! Massive blow to left eye sending bone back into the brain! A lithe veiled sentinel lets out a ragged gasp before collapsing. A blanketing silence settles over the area as the meteors cease to fall.
