Scorpion mount
|
Scorpion mounts were released at Rumor Woods in 2026 as the eighth installment of available mounts. Scorpion mounts are summoned by a rattle, which is a summoning item that stores their information but is considered a separate item. Similar to horse mounts, there are three tiers of scorpion mounts: common, uncommon, and rare. There are some species- or coloration-based restrictions on which features are available through the Ostler, depending on the individual scorpion. Feature restrictions are strictly based on the scorpion's breed. As with other mounts, scorpions can be given a name visible to the owner with a Potion of Naming. Common scorpions can be unlocked to the uncommon tier via Uncommon Mount Foods, expanding their verb messaging, ambient message, and available feature options.
CommonCommon mounts are the least expensive option when considering purchase. They are restricted to being either a giant albino cave scorpion or a giant wastes scorpion. They have some coloration-based limitations on their available features that are available through the Ostler. Almost colorless, the giant scorpion's [rugged] [bone white] carapace bears a [banded] pattern with a [subtle pink] tint. Two large, [crimson] median eyes are positioned centrally upon his cephalothorax, with several lateral eyes arrayed along his carapace to either side of his twitching mouthparts. The creature possesses ten limbs: four pairs of segmented walking legs and two large pedipalps that end in [thin-tipped] pincers. His [segmented] tail curves behind him and ends in a reddish telson with a curved stinger. The giant scorpion's [ridged] [sable] carapace shades darker along his back and is [flecked] with [ash brown]. Two large, black eyes are positioned on either side of a narrow ridge in the center of his cephalothorax, with several more arrayed along the leading edges of his carapace to either side of his dark-tipped chelicerae. The creature possesses ten limbs: four pairs of segmented walking legs and two large pedipalps that end in [oversized] pincers. His [bristly] tail curves behind him and ends in a dark, bulbous telson with a curved stinger. Usage

They have some coloration or species-based limitations on their available features that are available through the Ostler. Sun-bleached, the [gargantuan] sandfinger's [pitted] [amber] carapace is an echo of the sands of the Sea of Fire, further [striated] in [dark umber]. Two small, [mottled brown] median eyes are positioned centrally upon his cephalothorax, with several lateral eyes arrayed along his carapace to either side of his dark-tipped mouthparts. The creature possesses ten limbs: four pairs of segmented walking legs and two large pedipalps that end in [sharply pointed] pincers. His [flattened] tail curves behind him and ends in a bulbous telson with a curved stinger. The ash black hue of the [bulky] scorpion's [rough] carapace is [mottled] with [rust] and fades to a reddish hue along his underbelly. Two large, [russet] eyes are positioned in the center of his cephalothorax, with several more arrayed along the leading edges of his carapace to either side of his twitching chelicerae. The creature possesses ten limbs: four pairs of segmented walking legs and two large pedipalps that end in [bulbous] pincers. His [tapered] tail curves behind him and ends in a bulbous telson with a curved stinger. Though the [gargantuan] whiptail's glossy carapace is a drab [pale grey], graduated hues of [pinkish orange] are [whorled] throughout the chitin as though painted upon it. Two small, [deep red] median eyes are positioned centrally upon his cephalothorax, with several lateral eyes arrayed along his carapace to either side of his glistening mouthparts. Ambient MessagesThis section has not been added yet; please add to it now! RareRare mounts are the highest tier available for purchase and offer additional verbs unavailable at common or uncommon tiers. They are only available during their initial run, and are normally discontinued in concurrent runs. For 2026, the rare scorpion mount was a vecdrae scythir. Unlike some other rare mounts, the rare scorpion mount is not locked into its features or descriptions. It does have some coloration-based limitations on their available features that are available through the Ostler. A pattern of [sigils] marked in [silver] stands out starkly against the [massive] scorpion's [tuberculated] [oxblood red] chitin. A pair of large, [ebon] eyes are positioned centrally upon his cephalothorax, with dozens of lateral eyes arrayed along his carapace to either side of his oversized, serrated chelicerae. The creature possesses ten limbs: four pairs of segmented walking legs and two large pedipalps that end in [serrated] pincers. His [thick] tail curves behind him and ends in a bulbous telson with a curved stinger. UsageNote: Only the verbs differing from the common and uncommon tiers will be included below.
Special AbilityThe special ability for the vecdrae scythir is to leave behind a crystallized dark granule that has hallucinogenic properties. While some that consume this granule report positive affects, others have terrible outcomes and refuse to discuss what they saw. This section has not been added yet; please add to it now!
