Spell Cleaving is a combat maneuver available to warriors and monks that attempts to use the unnatural energy of an ensorcelled or anti-magical weapon to cleave away a spell from a target. It is easier to cleave a spell away from a heavily spelled-up target than it is from a lightly spelled up-one. This is represented by a base -25 penalty to success, reduced by +1 per magical spell/effect on the target.
Spell Cleaving is mentally taxing, requiring a recovery period of 60 seconds, minus 6 seconds per rank. This recovery period occurs after successful and unsuccessful cleaves alike.
